    Great People, Great Food, Great Value

    Jerry was extremely fun to work with for our wedding. He and his wife are both such warm people to be around. Jerry came up with a menu that really suited our personalities, and the food was delicious. (Our guests are still talking about his bacon-wrapped scallops and lobster sliders). He was incredibly flexible and professional, surveying our venue ahead of time for perfect set-up, and giving us awesome suggestions. We had an extremely hot day, and Jerry and his wonderful staff continued with the great service in spite of any outdoor challenges. Jerry even provided us with bartending services, and Dan was an amazing bartender. Both Jerry and Dan helped us with signature cocktails and getting us local beer on draft. Overall, it was an amazing experience, and we absolutely plan to work with Jerry again in the future, or at least visit the other great establishments where he chefs it up for years to come.

    Loved Jerry!

    Jerry was personable and responsive. He was patient with us and answered all of our many questions. He set himself up at our event with little guidance needed. He interacted with us and our guests. We got A LOT of compliments on the food coming from our pickiest and hard to please guests. Everything was fresh and delicious. Beef kabobs were especially a hit. We found him a bit short notice, but he was flexible and so easy to work with. Definitely recommend!

    Everything I was looking for!

    They catered our wedding and exceeded all of my hopes and expectations and more. I thought they did a beautiful job and were so pleasant to work with! I would definitely recommend them!

    Jerry provided the perfect BBQ buffett for our wedding reception. They brought everything and provided amazing service. Our families loved the food! My husband and I highly recommend them!

    Jerry and his staff are so professional. The celebration of my husband life was a huge success. Many of the guests commented on not only the food, but the how lovely the staff was. Every need was met, and then some. The setup and breakdown was seemless, and all my husbands favorite foods were served.

    Jerry and his team were awesome in every aspect. They were promt, courteous, efficient, and went above and beyond to help me out with setting up the event. We had rave reviews of the food and I would definitely recommend him for your event. Thank you Jerry for being such a huge help in gathering tables and chairs for us.

    Mid-Coast Catering and it's owner, Jerry Tarantino, were a pleasure to work with. Jerry was very responsive during our planning phase, and he and his staff were very responsive and flexible during the event itself. The food was delicious! Many guests commented on the delicious fresh potato salad, the tender ribs, the fabulous cole slaw, and the wonderful strawberry shortcake dessert. Oh, and don't let me forget the appetizers - also absolutely delicious. The staff were helpful, flexible and gracious in every way. Jerry and his crew made our event smooth and easy and fun!

    Jerry and Mid Coast Caterers helped make our company weekend a great success. Every meal was delicious and prepared on time - a key component when coordinating a whole weekend's worth of meals for 35 people. I would definitely recommend Mid Coast Catering to others.

    My friends and I had a small celebratory dinner party at private home in Georgetown, Maine. I found Mid Coast Caterers on the internet. From my intial inquiry to the delivery of the food, Jerry was nothing more than accomodating and cooperative in providing what was an amazing dinner! We had crabmeat stuffed mushrooms and coconut chicken appetizers - SO GOOD! The NY sirloin steak was cooked to perfection and went perfecly with the macaroni and cheese, rice pilaf, corn on the cob and salad! The dinner was topped off with assorted mini pastry and cookies! Everything was amazing! We ate the leftovers next day for breakfast....steak, mac n cheese & dessert! Thank you so much Jerry!

    It was a pleasure to have Jerry and his staff be part of our daughter's wedding day! From our initial contact, to the big day itself, Jerry was totally invested in making our experience effortless, impeccable and memorable. Our venue was paricularly challenging; on the ocean, with no running water or immediate electricity, but Jerry and his staff never faltered and delivered fabulous food, lovingly prepared and beautifully displayed!

    Jerry was happy to work within our budget, while maintaining the integrity of the event and presentation. The overall amount of food was more than ample and incredibly impressive; not a person went home on an empty stomach! Our guests were truly wow'ed and overwhelmingly commented it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding!

    Throughout the day, the staff was unobstrusive and efficient, keeping the presentations fresh looking and appetizing. We would highly recommend Mid Coast Caterers for reliable, professional service of your event from planning to execution....5 stars!

    Mid Coast Caterers provided a unique and authentic, oceanfront shore lobster bake for my daughter's graduation party on our property. Even though the scheduled date of the lobster bake predicted rain, owner Jerry and his crew where able to reschedule the outdoor event the following day to ensure satisfaction and fun for all! That is unheard of in the catering business and we could not be more thankful as the following day was sunny and warm. Jerry took care of all the details while providing delicious appetizers such as cooking the BBQ chicken skewers on wood-heated rocks he piled on the shore, keeping the guests in awe as they awaited their shore dinner of lobsters, steam clams, corn, potato, and eggs. "Perfection" is the only word I can describe our experience with Mid Coast Caterers. From apps to the fabulous shore dinner and the grand finale, Blueberry Shortcake, our experience will always be a memorable one. Thank You Mid Coast Caterers!

    Excellent!

    Jerry did a wonderful job catering our wedding and was incredibly flexible and kind during the event. The night went a little faster than we expected and Jerry and his team did a wonderful job going with the flow!

    Jerry was a pleasure to work with from our first contact through the end of our event. He and his son were professional, on schedule and prepared our group of 35 a delicious barbecue. The FAQ section of Jerry's website is helpful.

    Jerry was the perfect fit for my daughter's "picnic for the ages" wedding. He was flexible with feeding times as people meandered back from the ceremony and the food was exactly what we wanted. We shopped around and he had the best rate in the area. Nobody went away hungry and the presentation was perfect for the venue.

    Mid Coast provided excellent food in a casual friendly atmosphere, exactly what we wanted. This was a family celebration following a memorial service. The only issue I had was a little more feedback during the contract setting up process. I was not sure whether we were fully scheduled up, but this turned out to be mostly because the postal service lost my contract return and deposit check for several days -- but finally it was found and delivered to MCC ok. Again, I am overall I am very pleased with the service provided, and I would recommend them to others.

    Sit down Dinner for 130

    I do not recommend. After 9 months of careful planning our food was such a flop. Jerry miscounted and 1.5 tables did not get a salad. Soup was served in paper bowls and was terrible! Nothing was the quality promised - such a disappointment for our large fundraiser. Pasta over cooked, sauces flavorless, bread dry. People actually complained about the food cost vs quality. Jerry and crew were over heard making comments about the LBGQT guests... completely inappropriate.

    Mid Coast Caterers's reply:

    I am saddened to hear your experience was not satisfying. Every customer experience is important to me. I regret that you have not reached out directly in the six months that have passed since your event. I do encourage you to do so, even at this late date, if there is anything to be restored.
    Certainly no grievance was addressed when I approached to say Goodnight that evening. That seems a missed opportunity to discuss cost and quality since the entire board was present and final payment had not yet been made.
    In review of my notes, you had upfront concerns about the aging demographic of your group, too much garlic or spice. And folks getting “up and down” for the buffet.
    In your email which I am pasting below, you also advocated for the use of “chinette” and warned that some attendants may have had a history of being “slighted” in years past. I surmise these folks may have been at the table that did not receive salad. Clearly, this was not intentional. No one sets out to disappoint. Your service was repeatedly upgraded at no cost in response to your concerns.
    We decided in unison to make the soup, sauces and dressings vegetarian. The Soup, Salad and Bread became served courses. Chinette was replaced with single use acrylic. And the soup bowls, which were made from sugar cane fiber, were specially sourced for your event. You requested photos of the substitutions, and they were provided. (Also pasted)
    I visited the affected table immediately to express my regrets for the missing salad. I explained there was simply no remedy available and that we were required to move on due to time constraints placed on meal service. They seemed cordial and understanding however, not as you describe.
    I remain very troubled by your remarks. You close by making an inflammatory accusation and simultaneous judgement based on supposed overheard private conversation. We call this gossip.
    I am sorry that whatever was misheard was not challenged immediately, but instead completely misconstrued. I insist what you are describing simply did not happen. Bad news usually travels much faster, so I find this entire posting to be somewhat enigmatic, and lacking candor. Certainly not in congress with any previous reviews I have ever received in 25 years under my own banner. Food quality and customer service being all. We remain committed to excellence.
    Conversely, I was very happy to receive many positive comments about the food from the attendees that evening and a good report card from your volunteer staff when comparing my services to those received in previous years. A more recent opportunity arose after this review was posted, to communicate with a member of your core group. I was thrilled to hear everyone at their table was a “member of the clean plate club”
    Hi Jerry,

    Thank you. Yes, we were thinking a "Dinner on the Piazza" of sorts. BBQ was last three years and I want to get away from that! : )

    Our budget is so tight. With the chicken/salmon meal the budget was at our limit as we try to have ticket price cover expenses fully. Anyway, we thought Italian can be less expensive and still elegant and scrumptious (most important to this foodie). I just made caponata and spinach gnudi with a porcini mushroom reduction that was great warm and room temp next day and not too costly... So, I know whatever you come up with will be fantastic.

    We hired Lana to help find a caterer and to provide help serving, busing, clean-up with one other person for three hours. That was a big investment but it really helps lesson the load on all of us who are volunteering. We are all dead tired by the end of the might.

    We provide drinks and desserts (there is a cake auction) and yes chianti and limoncello.

    We have used heavy chinette plates in the past due to cost of rental and lack of washing facilities... weight of plates to manage for guests and volunteers as most are over 100yo - ha ha. I imagine our average age is 70 so I am serious too.

    Lastly, the director of LCHA and spouse are vegetation. They do not like going to functions and being slighted on the their meal when they have paid full price so that is why I asked to up the protein of veg options and make them equal value.
