My wife and I decided to hire Mikkel because of the beautiful photos taken at my wife’s sister’s wedding! The glowing reviews she has from her past clients couldn’t be more true. Mikkel is professional, organized, compassionate, and treats you as if you were her own sister/family member. She truly cares about the couple’s experience and takes that into account from the moment you have your initial meeting with her. My wife and I were worried about being awkward in front of the camera, but mikkel put us at ease and made the entire process fun, guiding us to be ourselves and encouraging us to get lost in the moment! During the twists and turns of our wedding weekend, Mikkel never showed a sign of concern (regarding the tropical storm headed our way), but always stayed positive, assuring us that we would have the most beautiful memories no matter the weather! We can’t recommend mikkel enough! She is an immeasurable addition to your wedding day experience and will leave you with stunning and lasting memories to enjoy for the rest of your life! -

We cannot recommend Mikkel enough. Picking a photographer for our wedding was stressful as we are both uncomfortable taking photos and being in front of the camera. From our very first meeting with Mikkel we felt extremely comfortable and taken care of. Mikkel is warm, attentive, organized, and has a great attention to detail. From the many meetings during the planning process to a fast turnaround of FANTASTIC photos that captured every moment of the evening, she truly exceeded all of our expectations. She made every guest feel comfortable and was an amazing presence on the day of to get every shot we wanted. We cannot sing her praises enough! -

Mikkel was more than just our photographer, she was a partner to us for the wedding as a whole! We had a destination wedding on the new Disney cruise ship, the Wish, and while it was an amazing time there were definitely challenges to planning a destination wedding at a brand new venue that we couldn't see until the wedding trip itself. Mikkel has a strong network of contacts in the industry that kept her informed of the ship and logistics and she ended up being more helpful to us than our Disney wedding coordinator! She checked in multiple times throughout our wedding planning on photography things such as the timeline, but also helped in providing her opinion on things like the bridesmaid dresses, the locations for the first look, and was generally helpful with her wealth of knowledge of Disney Cruise Line weddings to bounce ideas off of. Her pictures were INCREDIBLE! The quality, coloring, angles, lighting, everything about them is absolutely perfect. But most importantly, she is such a warm and happy person to work with that we felt incredibly comfortable posing in front of her for hours on end! We also had the luxury of her husband helping us a bit too and they were such a team, working together in the hot Bahamian sun quickly and effectively without even needing to direct each other most of the time to maximize how many pictures we could get before the sweat ruined our dress/suit/hair! Another attribute of Mikkel's that's worth mentioning is her flexibility. We took pictures with her the days before and after our wedding in addition to the big day, and our plan and timeline for the full weekend was completely in flux due to the chaos of our venue. If that caused issues for Mikkel, we never knew as she was upbeat and positive and leaned into every challenge that came our way. Honestly I could go on and on about her, she's exactly who we needed for our wedding and I am so grateful that we found her. If you are considering Mikkel, stop thinking about it and just book her - you won't regret it!Mikkel Paige Photography's reply:

If I could give 1,000 stars, I would! Mikkel made our wedding day in every way possible. Her organization and care to detail are unmatched, as is her ability to keep calm and pivot when things don't exactly go according to plan. You must use Mikkel if you want a photographer who can spot the perfect locations for a shoot, keep on track, make your bridal party and family members at ease and, of course, give you the most incredible wedding photos ever. Mikkel was truly amazing! She was very professional, responsive and an overall great person to work with. We had to postpone our wedding due to COVID and she was very accommodating and sympathetic as it was a very stressful time. Her artistic vision definitely showed through her work - the pictures and album came out amazing and we were more than pleased with it. I have spent the last hour writing reviews for all the lovely vendors at my wedding and frankly I was not prepared to write this particular one. I simply do not have the poetry of language to describe how amazing Mikkel was. She was a DYNAMO. Prior to the wedding, she worked with us to create the best version of our website, even offering to help us resize photographs my father had taken to put up. Every conversation we had leading up to the wedding was thorough, she even considered the comfort levels of our wedding party during the event prior to so there were no awkward conversations the day of. That day she came in like a gale force wind, sweeping through to ensure she captured each moment with grace and care. She made everyone she took photos of feel like they were their best selves, calling each person by their name without ever having met them. Everyone glowed when she finished talking with them. While I could gush over how amazing she was that day, it will never live up to sitting in our living room one week after the wedding when we received an email from Mikkel with our FULL gallery of photos neatly organized. We quickly picked our jaws up off the floor and spent hours reliving our wedding day for our ONE WEEK anniversary. Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness
I cannot sign the praises of this woman enough! When we began the search for our wedding photographer, we were immediately drawn to Mikkel's promptness in response to emails, how she truly tries to get to know us as a couple, and the diversity of her portfolio. We've had to reschedule our wedding twice due to Covid-19, and Mikkel has been incredibly accommodating for changing our dates. We eloped last week (still doing the big shin-dig next year!) and we were just blown away with Mikkel's professionalism, attention to detail, and how quickly she directed our friends and us. All of our friends commented on how "incredible" our photographer was! The sneak peak I've received has gotten rave reviews from our family and friends. My husband and I hired Mikkel for our destination wedding in the Dominican Republic. To say that working with her was one of the best decisions we made is an understatement. It wasn't just the pictures that left us speechless, which is obviously reflected in all of her work, it was the entire process from beginning until months after our wedding day. She really proved how professional, caring, prepared, and hardworking she is. We always think about how blown away our family was with her. The day after the wedding, everyone asked us about her methods. "How did she remember everyone's name?" "How did she know who was related to who?" "How did she move so quickly?" We laughed as we explained how Mikkel met with us several times to understand our family and relationships so she could integrate herself into the wedding seamlessly. Her prep work was visible to everyone!
Mikkel arrived a day before our actual wedding and took the most beautiful photographs of our resort which we did not expect at all. Our location was a massive property and was admittedly difficult to navigate because it was so large. Within a few hours, Mikkel knew where to go for EVERYTHING. We didn't even know where we'd do our First Look or where we would take group pictures but somehow Mikkel figured it all out. When you're in the middle of greeting guests and coordinating your bridesmaids, the timeline and location of things just slip out of your mind. We are forever grateful for this because we honestly did not think any of that through!
Quite honestly, we were never nervous in hiring Mikkel. We knew from past experiences and from referrals from good friends that she was the person we wanted on our team. We trusted her from the start and it's something I would tell all couples when hiring her. Just trust her. She will respect your vision and go above and beyond to exceed your expectations. She did that for us and we will always be grateful! -

Mikkel Paige is an excellent photographer! She captured every memory from the engagement photos, ceremony to the reception. Mikkel is so professional, organized and creative! You can choose all the beautiful details and vendors, but you need the right photographer to capture them for you in photos to enjoy forever. My wife and I had our wedding about 6 months ago, but it still feels like last week because of how smoothly everything ran! We attribute a great deal of that to Mikkel. In addition to being an excellent photographer, Mikkel is a seasoned expert in all things wedding-related. With her meticulous planning, warm demeanor, and cool head under pressure, she helped keep things running smoothly and on time (even facilitating the work of our other vendors!).
Our pictures themselves came out fabulously. They're bright and full of joy. My mother-in-law even had us print out one particularly iconic one extra large and mail it to her. We couldn't be happier with what we got!

If you're on the fence about hiring Mikkel, stop deliberating and hire her immediately! I could not have imagined finding a more perfect wedding photographer. We met Mikkel at a wedding show. Not only did I love her work, she's so fun to be around! I knew she would be a joy to work with, and vibe really well with our family and friends. Mikkel is an expert in every manner of her business. Photo sessions with her were easy - she immediately relaxes you, and you never feel left unsure about what you're supposed to be doing. She is so incredibly responsive to any question; she even helped me with questions I had through my wedding planning process that were unrelated to photography. I really appreciated how well Mikkel read our group of people on the wedding day. We're not an entirely conventional group, so she injected some extra personality into our photos that I loved. She did a great job of directing everybody day of while also keeping the atmosphere light and fun. All of the pictures I received, from both the engagement session and the wedding, are everything I could ever want. I've been having such a hard time narrowing down what to frame because I love them all! Mikkel is truly passionate about what she does, and it shows in every aspect of her work. Mikkel is the best of the best! She is incredibly thoughtful, cares so much for her clients' happiness, and unbelievably talented! After we sent her an inquiry, just to introduce herself, sh sent a short video, which was so helpful to get a better idea about her personality, style, and enthusiasm about photography, weddings, and travel. She was so responsive to every question and idea that we sent her way, and she even answered some wedding questions that had nothing to do with photography such as the ceremony practice. My husband and I could not be happier with our photos! We got them so quickly after the big day and they came out even better than we could have imagined! I kept saying how I had hope she captured that person or that moment- and she did it all! Mikkel is the best photographer ever! We couldn't imagine having chosen anyone else to capture our Disney Cruise Line wedding. From the moment we reached out, she was extremely prompt in getting back to us, so friendly and very personal. Before we even hired her she had a video call with us to talk about our options, get to know each other and see if we would be a good fit. Leading up to the cruise, she put together a detailed photography timeline and went over every detail with us on another video call. We felt so confident knowing that everything was planned out! On the cruise she went above and beyond her role as a photographer, helping with details like pinning on the boutonnieres and making sure that everything went smoothly. We really felt like she was in our corner and she made sure we got every photo we wanted! Having a photographer who has done a few Disney cruise weddings is also a huge perk - she knows all the best photo spots and we had so much fun taking photos around the ship with her! After seeing our photos, we are so thrilled with how they all turned out. They are so beautiful and captured our day perfectly. As soon as I booked my date and venue, I got in touch with Mikkel - the moment I first saw a sample of her photography and heard recommendations for her, I knew I had to lock her down for our big day! From the moment we began talking logistics 1+ year before our wedding, I knew we made the perfect choice - she got to know us, our style, our families, and absolutely every detail in between. She was a professional and guided us through the entire process - she helped develop a timeline of the day, recommended photos, and kept everything on track for photos on the big day. We had a brightly-colored springtime wedding in downtown Raleigh and Mikkel was the perfect person to capture it! The photos seriously look like they belong in a magazine and everyone who sees the pictures absolutely raves about them (and Mikkel!).
