Not What We Expected
Working full time, going to school online full time, plus planning a wedding left me with very little time to coordinate with vendors so the communication part is not the DJs fault. What we were extremely unhappy with is the following:
1. I gave a list of songs requested by guests, I asked for a simple "this one's for..." or "this one goes out to..." prior to playing the song. This did not happen.
2. A requested song was played during the cake cutting ceremony, so we had people dancing.
3. No announcements were made for the wedding party entrance into the reception.
4. No announcement for the cake cutting was made.
5. The schedule just didn't happen, the wedding party was to walk out, announced, and dance. Then the floor clears and the bride and groom have their first dance together. Then dinner and cake, Then the special dances. The dances came right after the bride and groom first dance, the wedding party dance didn't happen either, the song cut off immediately.
6. No announcement for speeches were made.
7. I asked for the Mother Son dance be announced for all mother and sons, I believe this was attempted but the volume was too low or the DJ was too timid to announce it loudly.
8. The ceremony was beautiful except multiple guests stated they couldn't hear us. As stated from the DJ a wireless mic was supposed to be provided, it was not. I don't know if the DJ and the pastor agreed on this but I had not and it was unacceptable.
9. DJ stated that giant foam light glow sticks would be provided to the kids. I brought glow stick necklaces as an extra. The DJ provided tiny normal glow sticks, not even large enough for a bracelet on the kids, which he did not even give out. False advertising.
10. An upbeat dance song would play then immediately go into a slow love song, killing the mood.
11. I asked for a special dedication to our grandfathers whom passed away this last Fall, some guests stated they heard something, I didn't hear anything but the song starting.
Overall, we were very disappointed. We tipped 20% at the start of the event and highly regret giving that much. I don't know if he felt uncomfortable but there was no hyping up the crowd. He literally just sat in his booth and played the songs. Sorry but I could have done that with my phone and a speaker. If I could get a refund of my $599 plus $120 tip I would ask but that's not how the industry works. I would recommend this DJ for regular parties but not a wedding. A wedding should be as perfect as possible and the DJ was far from what we requested and agreed with him.

Great service ,Everyone loved the music and the set up was beautiful, did exactly as I requested and more ,if you are looking for a Dj I highly recommend moonlight entertainment for any occasion. Will be diffently be using his services again in the future.
