Shelbi went above and beyond to make my dress so perfect for our wedding day! She was very attentive to detail and listened to all of my requests and concerns. She even made a beautiful mask to go with my dress! Shelbi was very knowledgable and professional at each of our visits. She made me feel comfortable and treated me like a friend! I was very lucky to find Shelbi after I received an initial alterations quote that was going to cost as much as it did to purchase my dress originally. From our first communication Shelbi was so incredibly kind and professional and worked to get me in as soon as possible. She was able to perfect my dress in only two fittings. Shelbi was so warm, funny, and very professional and I genuinely enjoyed the time we spent together. We are planning a one year vow renewal ceremony and I will definitely be reaching out to her to alter my dress completely and spice it up a bit. Her custom creations are breathtaking and her talent really shines. I will highly recommend Shelbi to my future bride friends! -

I am a fellow wedding vendor and I always recommend Shelbi to my clients. She is so sweet and makes the most beautiful custom wedding gowns. There is something special about having a wedding dress that is completely unique and all your own. I think it's pretty wonderful that shelbi provides that for all her clients.

UPDATE: I previously wrote a review about the alterations process with Shelbi so wanted to update with the final result. My dress was absolutely perfect! She also was able to alter my rehearsal dinner dress and they both fit wonderfully. I stand by everything I said in my original review -- Shelbi is the best!
ORIGINAL: I feel so lucky that I found Shelbi at Moonlight and Moss! Shelbi is very quick to answer emails and I found it incredibly easy to communicate to her exactly what I wanted for my wedding dress alterations. I had some special requests, like removing a layer and sewing in a piece of my mom’s veil. Not only was Shelbi able to accommodate these requests, but she even had some of her own ideas, like to sew my mom’s veil in the shape of a heart. I would have never thought of this, but it is such a special touch. Also, her prices are completely reasonable and her turnaround time was fantastic. Lastly, I live in Austin, so it’s hard for me to get to her during the work week. She has been completely understanding of that and able to schedule my fittings on weekends. I HIGHLY recommend Shelbi’s wedding dress alteration services — even if you live in Austin, she is well worth the drive! -

If you are looking for a talented and creative designer to make your gown, you MUST contact Shelbi. Her collaborative process in making my wedding dress was wonderful. She had meetings with me to go over inspiration images, take measurements, select fabrics and discuss every detail. I had over five fittings with Shelbi and she translated my feedback into the most exquisite gown of pale pink satin and tulle. Her craftsmanship, pattern making skills and creative mind are incredible. I received a couture dress for an amazing price. Thank you Shelbi for making my dream gown. Extra points for your sweet personality and lovely manner throughout the entire experience! -

The talented Shelbi from Moonlight and Moss is an angel in my eyes! She is a very passionate and loving human who shows her talent through designing and hand crafting her bridal gowns. She truly is an amazing artist. I had the pleasure of working with Shebi and I will always recommend her, if you want your wedding dress to be one of a kind then leave it to her! She will never disappoint! I love my dress and I loved the entire process of her helping me build my dress from a dream to reality! -

I originally contacted Shelbi to do alterations on my wedding gown since she was local to my area & specialized in custom wedding gowns, I was very skeptical of the reviews for typical run of the mill alteration shops in my area. She did a phenomenal job on my dress & then went above & beyond to find me a veil that worked with the unique color of my gown! I was blown away with her great customer service & attention to detail. I got to see some of her custom gowns she was working on while at her office & WOW! While I absolutely loved my wedding gown I wish I would have found her sooner to design a custom gown for me, I would HIGHLY recommend Shelbi for all of your wedding gown needs! -

Stephanie Sent on 06/28/2018I adored Shelbi! The single most stressful thing about my wedding day was the dress I'd chosen (the year before). It was so gorgeous, but ultimately it was not a simple "throw it on" type of dress. I worried so much about how it would look and fit and as the wedding date got closer, I began to really panic that I wouldn't feel my best when I finally wore it down the aisle. I started wondering if alterations might be a good idea, and by searching online, I found Shelbi. Thank goodness. She made me feel so beautiful in the dress from the very start, but made suggestions about how to make it look even better through some simple alterations and a gorgeous bustle. I can't thank her enough for that. Looking back, part of me does wish I had worked with her on designing a custom dress from the beginning! I just hadn't moved to Texas yet :)

Sherry Sent on 12/16/2017Shelbi was by far my favorite part of my wedding, outside of being married. I found her through an Instagram I follow, and contacted her immediately after seeing her work. Originally I was going to get a custom gown from her, I never thought I’d find anything off the rack since I’m plus-size, but when trying on dresses for inspiration I found one I loved. Instead of getting upset about having taken up so much of her time with gown planning she celebrated with me! What!?
We got along so well I wanted to keep using her for any and everything I could, so I got really lucky when I realized she could do alterations on my dress instead of me having to go to a random shop. She fitted the dress to me perfectly, and was a dream each and every meeting/fitting.
She also custom made me a veil that matched my dress, saved the day and did my pocket squares for the grooms, added sleeves to a bridesmaid dress for an entirely different wedding, added length and sleeves to my rehearsal dress, hand made me a sash, bow, appliqué, AND custom made me a dress topper out of one of my grandmothers old fur coats. I talked to her probably more than my bridesmaids up until the wedding, I’m not even kidding.
She was always on time or early, kind, talented, fairly priced, supportive, patient, offered advice when I needed it and made me feel like the most beautiful bride on my wedding day. I cannot say enough amazing things about this girl.
Hire her immediately, especially if you’re plus size, she knows her stuff !
Side note: she is a tiny thing and I thought that might make me self conscious getting undressed in front of her; the OPPOSITE happened! By our second meeting I was standing in my underwear and braless letting her do her thing and didn’t think twice about it. She’s that great! -
