    September Wedding

    This was the most magical day for us. Morgan acres was helpful, prompt, and well organized. We both felt they were quick to ensure things went as planned, and we were able to enjoy our wedding day!

    Incredible

    The second I walked into the barn at Morgan Acres, I knew it was where I wanted to get married. I literally had tears in my eyes. It was breathtaking. Not only that, Shani and her staff helped me with everything along the way and made the day of as stress free as possible. I highly recommend Morgan Acres to host your big day!

    Couldn't be better!

    To put it simply, everyone at Morgan Acres made my wedding day perfect! From small details that made my day special, to giving us great ideas that made the day unique, they made my wedding smooth, and amazing. Their staff was amazingly helpful throughout the day and even calmed my nerves! I can't say enough good things about this place, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to get married, or even just have a reception!

    A lovely venue! Would do it all over again on these beautiful grounds. Shani and her family are a pleasure to work with. They helped make our daughter's day run smoothly. The barn and grounds are jaw dropping gorgeous!

    Our wedding day at Morgan Acres was seriously like a fairy tale! Shani schedules 3 pre-wedding meetings to go over all details, back-up plans, and just generally check-in with vendor updates and questions. As a bride that took on the role of "wedding planner" myself, I expected some bumps in the road on wedding day having delegated quite a bit to my bridal party, parents, and vendors. However, thanks to our meetings and Shani's wonderful day of team, everything went flawlessly. I didn't have to worry about a thing! The Barn & grounds looked amazing, everything flowed from the outdoor ceremony, to cocktail hour, to the reception seamlessly. Shani is thorough and works well with your vendors. A big perk of using Morgan Acres, is that they let you pick your own vendors to bring in as long as some basic standards are met. We loved every minute of our wedding day and owe a large part of that happiness to Shani and her team. Best wedding decision we made by far!!

    Working with Shani and her whole staff for coordination was so awesome. They have an amazing property, and the venue is just stunning. The whole process was well coordinated, I got quick responses on emails and texts and was able to make flexible meeting times to make sure planning throughout the year leading up to the wedding was going smoothly. Shani knows her property in and out so she answered every question and helped me pull off our amazing September wedding flawlessly. The best part is how intimate and romantic the venue became the day of the wedding. It was everything I imagined for my rustic, country wedding with our closest family and friends and I couldn't have had a better experience. Still on a high from it all!

    This place is gorgeous exactly what I was looking for. Shani, the owner, was very easy to work with and was very helpful. They did more than I expected them to do. Everybody was so nice.

    Beautiful venue! Shani and Ashley made my daughter's special day one that she will remember forever! Guests are still talking about how unique this place was and that it was a perfect place to hold a wedding reception. Thanks again for making a stressful day for the Mother of the Bride a very lovely experience!

    Morgan Acres is a great venue! Shani, the owner and one event coordinator, was on top of everything. She thinks of things you haven't thought about at all. She guided me the whole wedding process. She is great with all the details. She made our wedding day so special. There were some hiccups, but they went unnoticed due to her and her staff. The venue is beautiful. It was actually next door to where I grew up, so it made the day more special. I guess even as a little kid I knew what I wanted my wedding day to look like. Beautiful trees and scenery. The barn is gorgeous. The lights are perfect inside. I loved everything about this place! If you are want a barn or vintage wedding, this is the place for you!

    My daughter found Morgan Acres when looking for a Venue to have her wedding at. We went and meet with the owner Shani and toured the Venue, it was set up for a wedding that day and was beautiful. My daughter selected the Venue and we reserved the date. As the father of the bride I was very involved in the planning of the wedding day. We meet with Shani before the wedding to start finalizing selections, vendors, and layout of the ceremony and table setup. She was great at giving us suggestions and instant feedback on our questions. The day of the wedding, I showed up with my team to decorate and setup everything and Shani was there to answer any questions. She was available throughout the entire wedding ceremony and reception to make sure tables got moved and the Venue looked its best. I also had the opportunity to meet Tim her husband throughout the different times I was at the Venue. He is constantly working on the barn and grounds to improve the property and enhance your experience. - Great family and Great Venue. Vaughn

    We loved Morgan Acres and it was a perfect venue for our wedding! Shani and the staff were so helpful and worked very hard to make are special day what I had hoped!
    It definitely is a hidden gem!

    My experience was very good. My mom, whom worked the closes with Shani said she was absolutely amazing! And I could tell she is very experienced. My day went on without a hitch and Shani and her staff made sure I didn't need to deal with any of the "extras". My only (and it's pretty minor) is everything is extra. The basic package would make for a very pretty wedding..., but to make is really SOMETHING you will start to want all the special touches...and to have all the extras.... is gonna cost. The venue ended up almost half my budget in the end. But if you can deal with the cost- you will not be let down. It will be worth every penny. I literally didn't have to do a single thing! I will (and have) recommend this place to get married/reception.

    Value/Quality of Service: The venue itself is beautiful and the staff member that assisted us (Mandy) was very knowledgeable, optimistic, solution-oriented, and accommodating. I appreciated having the three planning meetings with the owner, Shani, to ensure we were both on the same page. My only complaint was that I never met the staff member that would be representing the venue and be the actual venue coordinator until my rehearsal. Though I am sure that Shani filled-in the staff member (of whom was an amazing person-shout out to Mandy!}, it put me a little on edge (more details under flexibility).
    Responsiveness: The owner, Shani, is strong administratively and is timely on inquiry and communication phone and written.
    Professionalism/Flexibility: It was a great to have the flexibility to have the option to select your own vendors. The owner and I never got along and I am not sure why. No fighting per say, but there was always thick tension in the room. Logistically, I was very frustrated with Shani after the outdoor ceremony/during the outdoor cocktail hour, a rain storm was rolling in and ACTUALLY RAINING. Because Shani was rigidly following our timeline, she refused to let the guests inside to take shelter from the storm rolling in. She was quoted by my quests as saying "I don't know what to tell you.” Yes, we have a timeline, but when it is physically raining on guests, you accommodate. During the reception, the bartender brought glasses of wine-based tequila to the head table. When a guest asked if it was fire ball, Shani immediately assumed it was fireball and was up in arms. The professional response would be to ask first and see what was going on. I understand that her caution was due to insurance and liability, but it was handled extremely unprofessional and emotionally driven.
    As an overall venue experience, the venue was a 3.5- not terrible (all events have a little unplanned drama and mishaps), but definitely did not rise above industry standard.

    We work diligently to identify and adhere to our client’s wishes. During planning sessions, it was made clear that the client’s detailed timeline (6 pages) was very important to her – and that adhering to it was to be the priority when at all possible. Also, she requested the large doors be closed until the start of dinner. In an effort to meet her expectations, we kept the large doors closed – when it started sprinkling, we opened the doors and allowed guests to enter. I could have opened the doors at the sign of the first rain drop, but I waited a bit to balance the bride’s request and the guests’ comfort. We work hard to handle the many changes in weather that come our way. In regard to the “Fireball” incident - hard liquor had already been found in the possession of some groomsmen (a violation of our no hard liquor/no carry-in policy). Someone at the head table shouted, “Fireball!” and simultaneously drank shots. In response, I approached the head table and reminded those guests that no hard liquor was permitted – they indicated they were, “just kidding.” We will continue to enforce our policy regarding hard liquor on the property – simply, it is illegal and it jeopardizes the licenses of the vendors who work at Morgan Acres. Finally, I want to address the comment that “the owner and I never go along.” I am actually surprised to read this! I enjoyed my time working with Jenna. I am not oblivious to the fact that both she and I are detail-driven people and we are both event planners in our own fields. In no way did I intend to add “tension” to her planning process – my heart is always to be helpful. Clearly Jenna feels I failed her in this situation. Some clients need more support than others – perhaps I should have stepped back and been less involved with a client as well-organized, detail-oriented, and thorough as Jenna? She did a great job planning her wedding! And, my apologies for not providing the support she felt appropriate.

    Bearing in mind that our daughter's wedding was as the end of the season and the weather is so unpredictable, we were reassured that it would be heated.
    Pros - beautiful venue! Gorgeous setting both inside and out. Venue coordinator is the best! Works very well with you and is very flexible. We had to have both an inside plan and outside plan and then made the call two nights before based on the weather. Really thru a kink into plans, but she was great! The owner's wife is really sweet.

    Cons - It is not really heated. The owner hooked up the heat to blow out on the second floor so the bottom floor was still cold since a cold front came thru and the temps dropped into the 40's. Even having a mid-afternoon wedding, it was cold in there all day. All our friends and family basically had their coats on all thru the ceremony. Even the DJ walked around rubbing his hands trying to stay cold. The owner's husband attitude was very rude.

    We make every effort to explain both verbally and in writing that our barn is not heated -- it is a barn, after all. And, we do indicate that heat can be added but with no guarantee of the inside temperature. The structure is not insulated and light is visible through the siding. There is no way to "climate-control" the structure and maintain a constant temperature. If the weather is very cold and very windy, as it was the day of this event, the heater is less efficient. I wish the weather would have been more cooperative for this November 1st wedding. However, the weather is out of my hands!

    The venue itself is beautiful. The details in the barn are amazing and the flexibility to use so many different areas on the property are what drew me to renting for my wedding in May 2017. As much as I LOVED my wedding, I do regret having it at Morgan Acres. We didn't have too many problems until the day of the wedding- the top of our wedding cake miraculously "went missing," a large pegboard that my father made was SUPPOSED to be used as fire wood, but now I'm pretty sure it's in their decor inventory and they are making money off of it, the owner, Shani, did make our other vendors feel welcome on her territory, and her husband degraded my family and our guests while talking to another vendor that they forced us to book (a shuttle service because of issues parking in the grass). My mother, the mother of the bride, the woman who worked endless hours to pay Shani thousands of dollars, heard Shani's husband that the wedding party "was from the Carmel area" while describing our "snobby, ill-mannered" behavior. Some of our wedding party was particularly rowdy, yes. They broke some of the specific rules Shani posted, yes, but how unprofessional of Shani's staff to be sparkly poorly of the people that hired them in the PRESENCE of the people that hired them. My mother did not deserve to hear that man speaking so poorly of her family. And the best part- not one person from the wedding party or immediate family is from "Carmel." I grew up in a largely one income family with a police officer father. Both of my parents worked countless hours to be able to afford the wedding I have always wanted. The amount of disrespect I feel on my parents behalf is appalling. I understand being upset about broken rules, I understand confronting the problem behaviors, but to go out of your way to speak ill of the people paying you thousands, steal the top of a wedding cake, and make money off something you said you would trash is ridiculous. I would never recommend Morgan Acres to anyone.

    Foremost, I would like to apologize for any remarks made by myself, my staff, or my family that would make anyone feel degraded or disrespected -- that is not what I or Morgan Acres is about. This review is the first I have heard of any such remarks; I wish they would have been brought to my attention so that I could have directly addressed these comments. Again, my apologies - my heart is to serve every person who comes to Morgan Acres well and to provide each client with a beautiful memory - it would seem that I failed to meet Lindsey's expectations in that regard. To speak to the other items, the "missing" cake is the top layer of the cake that was left at the barn by the bride at the end of the evening. There was no box for it. The cleaning crew threw it away -- it is our policy that all items be removed from the barn by midnight as we often have multiple events in one weekend and have no space to store a client's belongings. As for the pegboard - the family did not want to load it up at the end of the night. I told them we could discard it, which we did. I have never rented it. It doesn't even exist anymore. And, finally, to speak to the shuttle service issue -- our on-site parking is in a grass field. If weather does not permit onsite parking (i.e. too much rain in the weeks prior), then off-site parking is required and the client is responsible for the cost of the shuttle. This information is disclosed to every client prior to contract signing. We have invested tremendously, heart and soul, to make Morgan Acres what it is -- a gorgeous barn venue with magical charm -- a place where people's lives are forever changed and where memories are created. It is personal to us. It is our passion. It is difficult -- very difficult -- to watch guests completely disrespect the property and have little to no regard for their personal conduct. Rules exist everywhere and there are consequences when they are broken (posted on our website for all to see).
