    Perfect Wedding Venue!

The Mount Airy mansion is the best! I am so happy we were able to have our wedding here (150 ppl). Firstly, the venue has so much charm and is truly one of a kind. They let you bring in decorations and really make it personal. We had a Sierra Leone/Mexican wedding and we were able to incorporate décor from both cultures and it looked great! Also, they have an arch and tables you can use plus a great connection to a chair vendor. This venue really is the most bang for your buck. Secondly, they only have one event per day. This is a big deal. It makes you feel special and you don’t have to be rushed out. Lastly, Tom was great to work with! He is very responsive, really knowledgeable and gave great advice (he is very experienced). We had a lot of questions and Tom always got back to us in a timely manner. The venue was perfect and we had a wonderful experience!

We had our ceremony and 120-person reception at Mount Airy mansion and couldn't be happier with the venue! First, the mansion and property are gorgeous and make a perfect backdrop for a wedding. We held the ceremony and cocktail hour outside the mansion and the reception indoors - both spaces were beautiful! One of the things that was especially nice about the reception space was that the venue keeps twinkle lights installed along the perimeter (in the reception room with windows), so the ambiance was perfect and we didn't have to pay extra for fancy lighting. Second, the venue lets you use the mansion practically all day. Other venues we looked at in the DC area try to host multiple events per day and were very restrictive about length of rental, but at Mount Airy mansion, our vendors could take their time setting up and we were able to use the bridal suite to get ready. Third, Tom and Tatiana (venue points of contact) were very helpful and responsive leading up to the event. They always provided prompt answers to our questions and were incredibly flexible (including let us drop off some items a few days in advance to avoid having to bring them the morning of the wedding). Finally, the price is very reasonable for the DC area. We feel very lucky to have found Mount Airy mansion and gotten married there, and strongly encourage other brides-and-grooms-to-be to check it out!

What a wonderful place to get married! Not only are you able to have the venue to yourself the entire day, but it is a beautiful old mansion with many rooms indoors and a tremendous amount of space outdoors. The property manager Tom is lovely to work with and is very quick to reply to texts and calls. My husband and I were looking for an affordable venue for both our ceremony and our reception in the DMV area, and I am so grateful we found Mount Airy. I would definitely suggest to friends. We received many compliments.

Mount Airy Mansion is a beautiful location for a wedding. It offers space for an outside or inside ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, bridal suite, groom's room, and babysitting room. Tom and Tatiana were easy to work with and very accommodating. They have many years of experience holding weddings here. In our case, the weather was threatening rain and we waited until the last minute to decide what to do. It never did rain-- and the ceremony and cocktail hour were held outdoors. It was gorgeous. Our guest loved the setting and beautiful house. We fit 150 people comfortable in the reception area with a buffet dinner and an open bar. The facilities for the caterers were perfect. Finally, there was plenty of parking and a handicap drop-off in front.

I cannot recommend this venue enough. The service leading up to and during the event was fabulous, they were flexible as numbers were changing and provided an event coordinator day of that took care of everything, so I did not have to and could just focus on my wedding and reception. The facility is gorgeous and well maintained and a fabulous value for what you receive.

Perfect! It was beautiful! The setting is fantastic. The Mansion has tons of interesting history which we included in the program, so that the guests could take a look around and enjoy what the mansion had to offer. They do only one event a day, that was very nice, we did not have a party coming after us or in before us, it was ours for the day. Very flexible, we could decorate how we wanted, with respect of the historic home. I would recommend this romantic setting to any bride that wants a quiet, comfortable beautiful setting, our oldest daughter will be using this venue also, she loves it too!

When we toured this venue, we instantly knew that this was where we wanted to have our wedding. Many people have mentioned Mary, a staff member who treats you like family and puts your mind at ease. The grounds are gorgeous, the staff is hardworking and helpful, and the associated caterer makes such delicious food, we were getting compliments all night. They also allow you an 8 hour rental, so you are not waiting for the earlier wedding to finish, or being rushed out the door after your event. You won't go wrong with Mount Airy Mansion!

I found the mansion and fell in love right away! The location is isolated from the noisy DC metro area and is beautiful. The staff is so personal and was helpful with all my questions. Mary at the mansion is a wonder and was great to work with. Anything we needed we could go to her about. Tom with the catering was amazing and the staff for the day of was great. The entire set up of the mansion was perfect for our wedding. We had 80 and it fit perfectly with a large dance floor. The cost was much lower than in Montgomery County where we live, so it was more economical, while being special and unique. Everyone who attended loved the location and thought it was perfect for us. Everything was smooth and any problems were handled easily to make my day a dream come true. Plus, as a history major, I found the mansion perfect because it is 17th century and very old. I could not find a better location to have my wedding and am SO HAPPY that I chose the mansion. I highly recommend it to everyone and hope everyone is as happy as I am with the mansion!

From the first day meeting Tom, Nancy, and other staff members at Mt. Airy Mansion, my husband and was excited to have our ceremony held at this venue. Tom was available at all time to make sure the ceremony planned at its best. On our special day 3/23/2013, all the staff members were awesome and professional with the service. Me and my bridesmaids were able to dress in the wonderful ventish brides room. The food just was excellent! Our family and friends were very impress and so were we. We thank you Tom, Nancy and all the staff members of Mt. Airy Mansion for making our ceremony a wonderful success!

We had been looking all over Prince George's County for a place to have our reception. After looking at everyplace we remembered that Mount Airy Mansion was one place we never looked at. From the first day of touring the grounds we knew instantly that we wanted to have our reception here. They were accommodating with our vendors, coming in and decorating, picking our meals. Everyone who attended our wedding was very impressed with this venue and loved everything about the mansion. The price was reasonable and they went above and beyond everything we expected! We would definitely recommend this venue to anyone who wants a wedding/reception in a mansion with a great atmosphere.

We had a picturesque wedding day. I mean literally, our photographers said there were so many beautiful photo opportunities on the property. The Mansion has such a warm and romantic feel to it.

Certainly at the top of the list of things that were outstanding was the service and the staff (Marsha, Mary, Nancy, Tom and Micky). Everyone was so friendly every step of the way and we greatly appreciated it! Marsha was kind and responsive with all the scheduling; Mary was a ball of sunshine each time we visited the Mansion; Nancy was super helpful/informative during our reheasal and the day of the wedding; Micky was absolutely wonderful on the day of the wedding keeping everyone on schedule to the best of her ability; and all the catering staff was friendly and attentive. There was one staff member in particular, a female waitress, who among others was responsible for service at the head table. She was phenomenal, and would ensure that both the bride and groom were satisfied even as we were up and about throughout the evening, enjoying company. We wish we could have remembered her name.
Second, the food was excellent. I believe a few of our guests overheard our photographers say that it was literally "the best tasting wedding meal" they'd ever had (and you know those guys attend tons of weddings). All of our family and friends agreed - the chefs did an outstanding job. Preparation and presentation were exactly as we imagined and near flawless.

Third, setup and linens. The placement of the tables, the setup upon the tables, and all of the linens combined with our individual touches really turned into a lovely spectacle. The candles throughout the mansion were placed beautifully too! We were so pleased with how everything looked together, and the way that it almost seemed as if all of the vendors had been working with one and other for years. The initial "wow" factor upon entrance into the venue was was more than we had hoped for.

You have to go with their catering company, Pineapple Alley Catering (see my review), which can be a good and bad thing. But our experience was certainly good. Tom took great care in working with us and sorting out all of the last minute kinks we had.

The kindness and relaxed feeling of everyone we interacted with at the Mansion served as a major reason for us choosing the Mansion, along with Pineapple Alley Catering as vendors in the first place.
    The day was unforgettable!

We were so happy with Mount Airy. It is a beautiful venue with good indoor and outdoor spaces. We wanted an outdoor ceremony, indoor/outdoor cocktails, and an indoor reception - and that is exactly what we got at Mount Airy.

The official caterer of Mount Airy is Pineapple Alley. My husband and I are foodies, and he wanted to be able to choose our caterer. We decided to go with Mount Airy even though we didn't have control over which caterer to use, and we never regretted that decision. Tom from Pineapple Alley was great to work with, and the food was delicious!

I highly recommend Mount Airy as a wedding venue!

Mount Airy Mansion is a beautiful venue indoors and outdoors. We held our ceremony and reception there. The managers, Tom and Nancy were wonderful to work with. I found them to be very flexible, and our day of wedding coordinator was actually surprised to see what they allowed us to do, compared to other venues. For example, I was able to leave my dress and favors there overnight. I also liked how the contract begins when the ceremony begins, so you are not charged for the time you spend getting ready there.
The only problem I ran into was that I brought small wine bottles as favors, and we weren't allowed to bring them into the dining room, as it would be a violation of their liquor license. That was my fault because I didn't ask them about my favors beforehand. Other than that, everything went very smoothly and I was very satisfied with my experience. I hope someone else I know gets married there so that I can go back!

Working with Mount Airy Mansion to plan and hold our wedding there was definitely the best decision we made for that day! Everyone we dealt with at the mansion was efficient and professional along with being kind and understanding of our needs. Tom, the head of the catering there, was easy to get in touch with and quick with answers. Mary, who gives tours of the mansion, was such a blast to speak with and eased our minds. The day of the wedding the whole staff were just impeccable. Many of our guests commented on how classy everything was, which was just the atmosphere we wanted! I would love to hold another event there, or better yet, be a guest at one!!

We had our wedding at Mount Airy Mansion and could not have been happier. The bridal/groom suites, the grounds, the outdoor ceremony area, the dining room, and the dance floor were all perfect for what we were envisioning, and the price fit our budget. Tom, one of the venue coordinators, was very helpful in answering all our questions and was super easygoing about everything. Tatiana, who worked with us on our wedding day, could not have been more attentive or friendly. All in all, we would definitely recommend this hidden gem to anyone getting married in the DMV!

I love this venue. The venue manager (Tom), Nancy and the rest of the staff were very easy to work with in planning and also on the day of the wedding. One of the key features differentiating them from other mansions in the area is that they have one event per day and there aren't many restrictions. We had our wedding outside and the cocktail hour and reception inside. They are very flexible in most areas but you must use their in-house catering. The food was great and there were many menu options for each course. Tom was helpful in providing suggestions and also in making menu modifications as requested. I would definitely recommend Mt. Airy.

Mount Airy Mansion is a beautiful venue. It rained the day of the wedding, and we had to move the ceremony indoors. However, the glass-enclosed garden room brought the outdoors in. The staff was fantastic, and made sure that we had everything we needed. We gave written instructions on how to set up everything, and they were followed exactly. My only issue was that all of the linens, plates, flatware, etc. had to be rented from a party rental store or brought in by the couple, which significantly added to the cost of the event and allowed for less flexibility with last-minute changes to the guest list. However, overall, I would highly recommend this venue to anyone.

I thought Mount Airy Mansion was the perfect place to have a wedding! The venue is gorgeous and is the perfect blend of indoor/outdoor. The Mansion is absolutely gorgeous any time of year. It set a romantic and intimate feel for any occassion. Because the Mansion is old the windows and doors allow in bugs. We had a big stink bug problem in our bridal suite. My photographer was vacuuming them up so he could get some photos. Our bartender did run out of beer, but they immediately went and got more before dinner was over. The caterer allowed us an additional 30 days to pay our remaining balance. Very easy people to work with, and they make sure you get exactly what you want!

The location is beautiful and I don't have any true problems with the venue itself. Pineapple Alley really handles a lot of the coordination involved with the wedding.
You are required to use Pineapple Alley for the catering, however they were a great vendor to work with and the food is excellent.
They only block one event per day and we had the reception go on until 12 at night.

The mansion is a very intimate and beautiful place to hold a wedding. If you're looking for that private and historic vibe, this is definitely the place. The food, catered by Pineapple Alley Catering, is delicious and you get a good amount of food.

The reason certain ratings are not high is because there was some miscommunication between the owner and the day-of coordinator (provided by the mansion). The coordinator had no idea what she was supposed to be taking care of, even after speaking with the bride the day before. There was a shortage of staff, apparently, which is why the bridal party assisted with some set-up. Also, the bride had to tell the staff to do better with timing when bringing food out.

Overall, the wedding was perfect. My only advice is to make sure you communicate thoroughly with the day-of coordinator and that there will be the right amount of staff available according to what you pay for.
