We booked our 5/7/22 wedding at the Sioux Falls Museum of Visual Materials and WOW. This place is absolutely stunning. It fit perfectly the vision we had for our wedding+ceremony, and we could not have picked a better venue. Taryn and Ben were so extremely professional and helped make the wedding go off without a hitch. Ben was so quick to respond to my emails ahead of the wedding, and was so assuring and helpful with any questions or concerns I brought his way. The planning process could not have been easier and we felt like we had complete control of our wedding vision. The venue created a custom layout for our big day, provided everything we needed, from linens to chairs and tables and everything was spectacular! We brought some out-of-the box ideas and they were absolutely happy to accommodate and make everything come to fruition just as we envisioned it. I'd have my wedding here 1,000 times over if I could! The compliments from guests and family members were non-stop about how beautiful the venue was and how amazing the overall experience was. I can not recommend this venue enough!!

First, let me just begin with saying the Museum is one of the most stunning venues I’ve ever been in. It is gorgeous with even very minimal decoration, and is an absolute steal for the price. Second, the entire staff was incredibly helpful and supportive. Kaitlyn was amazing through the entire process before the day, and then Terrie, the staff member who was there the day of was AMAZING. She was so helpful and did a great job of giving direction and making sure everything went smoothly. We did both our ceremony and reception at the Museum, and even though only about 1/3 of our guests were able to make it (due to the massive blizzard) the Museum was still the perfect venue for us.

We held our wedding reception here and were very happy with the space and all of the staff! Everyone was very helpful. The space is truly beautiful and does not require much in the way of added decoration. We enjoyed every minute of our reception here!

I was a little nervous as we had originally booked with Janelle, and there was a period where no coordinator was in place. However, Kaitlyn was amazing, super responsive by email which helped as I was an out of state bride, and beyond accommodating. Jocelyn was our day of coordinator, and although we had never met, she was also very kind. Pam, our bartender, was also fantastic! We got so many compliments on our venue, and you could not ask for more for the price. 100% would recommend!

Our reception at the MoVM turned out beautifully and better than we could have imagined! The event coordinator and staff were all very helpful and friendly throughout our planning process and on the day of our event. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a place to hold an event in the Sioux Falls area.

The Venue and Kaitlyn was beyond amazing to work with. We had a couple last minute changes unexpected and she calmed the stressed bride (me), and we worked through it together!

The museum is a gorgeous place to have a wedding reception! The original wood flooring and exposed brick adds so much beauty that decorating can reall be minimal and the place will still look gorgeous! The staff at the Museum was very easy to work with too! The only thing to make note of is that you only get to rent the place for 12 hours total. They give you an option to decorate the venue the day before an event (if the Museum is available) for an extra $75. In doing this, you only get the Museum for 8 hours the day of. This was just something that caught me off guard!

The Museum was everything we could have imagined in a wedding reception venue. They always responded timely to any questions or concerns I had about the day. Katelyn was wonderful to work with and she worked hard behind the scenes to make sure our reception went as smooth as possible. They were flexible in when they let us set up and allotted us extra time to tear down and pack up at the end of the night.

It was also a huge plus for us to be able to hire whichever caterer we wanted. They worked so well with all of our vendors, we didn't have to worry about a single thing the day of our wedding.

The Museum is so naturally beautiful that we were able to keep our decorations to a minimum, helping us save some extra money. All of our guests commented how beautiful the building was.

I would definitely recommend having your wedding reception here.

The staff from start to finish was excellent. They promptly answered any questions. Very helpful during the reception !

This is a perfect venue for a wedding. We had approximately 115 guests and there was plenty of room; we could have easily seated another 25. Everyone was great to work with and we received many compliments on our venue choice. We held both the ceremony and reception here. We used a King's table and had the guests seated at their tables during the ceremony; eliminating the need to rearrange chairs after the ceremony. This also made the ceremony seem much more intimate. One thing we didn't think of was the late afternoon sun coming through the windows (February 5:00 pm wedding) and the placement of the actual ceremony. That was a challenge for the photographer. We loved the rustic building and with the lighting that is already in place so we did minimal decorating.

Amazing venue! We did both the wedding and the reception at the Museum. No decoration needed because it is such a beautiful place. I worked with Janelle for planning and she made it easy and fun. They are up front about everything and there were no surprises. The website has all the info you need, but the staff is great about answering questions. They coordinated things well with our caterer and DJ too. We have only good things to say and we received lots of positive comments from our guests. Everyone was impressed!

MoVM was super easy to work with and provided us with a wonderful venue for our wedding reception. The natural decor of the building helped to keep our decorating costs low! Everything was perfect for our big day and we had an incredibly party!

The Museum of Visual Materials was the most beautiful place in Sioux Falls that I could ever imagine having a wedding. We traveled from out of town to have our ceremony & reception here and did not want to bring lots of decorations with us, the natural beauty of this place was decoration enough for our Sunday morning brunch wedding.
The staff at MoVM was incredibly accommodating to our needs and quick to respond. They gave us special pricing for having a Sunday wedding and a Saturday rehearsal which was much appreciated.
We loved having our wedding here and the transition from the ceremony to the reception set-up was very easy as we had about 100 guests.

Absolutely loved this venue! The staff was incredibly helpful the months before our wedding and the day of. The venue itself is beautiful and doesn't require many decorations because of it's simplistic beauty! I would definitely recommend this venue for those looking for an intimate and gorgeous venue!

A beautiful location! One of the very few in town where you can choose your own vendors. Jeremy was very easy to work with and the night went smoother than I could have ever imagined. The whole staff was friendly and provided excellent service to our guests.

The Museum of Visual Materials was a BEAUTIFUL reception venue. I would highly recommend this venue to any bride. Jeremy was friendly and easy to work with.

My husband and I chose to have our reception here but we got married at my church. We thought this would be a good place to have our reception and they helped us out with decorating. It looked awesome with the LED and Icicle lights on in the museum along with our up-lighting color from our DJ. There was enough room to dance on the dance floor which was a PLUS!! Our guests loved the museum! We are so happy that we had our reception at the museum! I would recommend them to others. The prices are reasonable.

Carmen at the Museum of Visual Materials was excellent to work with. She was very helpful and responded to any questions that I had very quickly. The rest of the staff was also a pleasure to work with. The vendor made sure that I had everything I needed and were just great. The place was set up great and looked wonderful. I would definately recommend this vendor to anyone!

Everything with the MOVM was absolutely perfect!

The venue is beautiful. They are very accomodating and easy to work with. I made changes the week before the wedding and they made those changes easy to make. There were a few lapses in communication during the planning process but I attribue those to turnover in the position of the person handling the event. They were easily taken care of.

During the event, the staff was helpful and willing to wait on us and please us in any way possible. It made my evening stress free and allowed me to relax and have fun at my own wedding.

The Museum of Visual Materials staff were excellent to work with on planning our wedding reception. They provided us with a lot of information via email and were flexible in setting up appointments with us as we were from out of town. We received prompt email responses on all question. The staff worked with us on splitting up our time for decorating and a member of the staff even helped remove bows from chairs the evening of the wedding reception. It is a gorgeous venue with excellent staff!

Simply beautiful venue for our wedding.. Just remember this is a "green" facility.. Everything ran smoothly.. Hard to decorate the day before as the venue fills up on Fridays for weddings now .. Highly recommended to any couple looking for a venue.

Megan and all the staff members at MOVM were so wonderful to work with. They went out of their way to make things just they way we wanted them. When some of the table linens didn't show up the day before the wedding Megan went to a restaurant and borrowed some of there's. I would recommand the MOVM to anyone who wants their wedding reception in a unique/historical venue, it's in a great location and they allow you to pick all your vendors so you can have whatever cake, food, DJ you want.

This was a fantastic venue. We used it for both the ceremony and reception. Megan was very helpful explaining all the services they could offer, and made a personalized map of what the setups would look like for our day. The building has exposed quartzite walls and lofted ceilings with skylights and exposed beams, which made decorating much simpler and cheaper. We didn't need to do much with such a beautiful place.

The planning and day of the wedding went very well.
