    Best wedding ever

    I don’t even know where to begin. And I don’t think I have the words to adequately convey our appreciation for all you and your staff have done to make our wedding day a success!

    From our first in person meeting in March, we left with such a sense of calm, we realized then that this just might be ok. But it was more than ok, much more. You always made our daughter feel as if she were your only client. You answered her emails and phone calls quickly, which alleviated the ever looming anxiety.

    You answered my many emails (sorry, for all of them) in the blink of an eye. And, you were there to calm me down when Bill brought me to tears.

    No matter what ideas we came up with, you had the perfect professional way of telling us yes, great idea, or gently guiding us away from maybe not such a great idea. Always with our daughter’s best interest at the forefront.

    Kathy. What can I really say. I did not cry at all on Saturday. Ok. When I saw my girl dance with her dad, I did cry. But at the end of the evening (and even as I write this) I shed tears of joy. But those tears were also because I saw how hard you and your team worked to make my daughter’s night a success. From the rehearsal, to during the day on Saturday, then to the reception, you were professional, calm, caring and always had a smiling on your face. From making sure carpet placements were perfect to making sure our guests were taken care of to cleaning up at the end if the evening, you worked tirelessly to make sure that we worried about nothing. Even my brother, who is oblivious to a lot of things, commented on you and your team. The work you and your team provided is the reason our evening was so successful. Well, you, your team, and DJ Mo!!😘

    Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you for working so incredibly hard. Thank you for making us feel that our day mattered as much to you as it did to us (and it showed in your interactions with all of us). Thank you for creating for us the memories of a lifetime.

    I hope you get to relax some this week. And, on a personal note, I wish your son all the success he deserves in Nashville! I know that if he works as hard as his mama, he will achieve his goals in no time!

    Absolutely AMAZING!!!

    I cannot recommend Christine and her team enough. Every single detail was taken care of for my event. Even the details I hadn’t thought of! These women were fantastic. I will not hesitate to use them again in the future.

    Best Wedding/Event Planner in Colorado

    Planning a wedding from out-of-state is a daunting task, but when you find the right wedding planner, it is a manageable and enjoyable process. I was very fortunate to find Christine Forester of My Big Day, LLC to plan, direct, and orchestrate my daughter’s wedding in Fort Collins with less than three months until the wedding. She built a venue from the ground up on a working horse ranch, where dirt, wind, dust, and flies prevailed. Christine’s expertise, work ethic, and organizational skills were instrumental in creating a memorable wedding experience for the bride, groom, their families, and our guests.
    Christine Forester agreed to take on my daughter’s wedding after I was forced to fire our previous planner for non-performance. Christine hit the trail running and called to secure many of the remaining vendors that were necessary to finish the wedding reception puzzle, and she did this in short order. Her suggestions were excellent for cake/dessert (Renee Buzzell of Starlight Dessert Bar), hors d’oeuvres (Beverly of Foothills Catering), videographer (John Hunt of Arcadian Pictures), a horse trailer bar (Mike Heitzler of On the Rocks), Wilbur’s Total Beverage, and even suggested an excellent source of baklava to celebrate the bride’s Greek heritage. She had close working relationships with Lynzee the catering manager from our outstanding caterer, Nordy’s BBQ and Grill as well as Alexis from Blue Moon Rental, who furnished exquisite restroom facilities that many of our guests are still commenting on.
    Christine was an excellent communicator and understood the wedding process from beginning to end. She answered all my questions in detail, day after day and responded to my emails promptly with suggestions, explanations, and good advice. She scheduled phone conferences and made site visits to consult with the rental company to formulate a site plan. She worked well with each vendor and asked pertinent questions to create the best results. Christine Forester and her team contacted all the vendors, created a detailed timeline, sent me payment reminders for vendors, and worked out many logistical issues without my having to get involved. She volunteered to do many extra tasks that were not delineated in her contract such as setting all the tables, making signage for signature drinks, carrying all the chairs from the wedding ceremony into the tent, creating the liquor list, looking over the rental contract and making suggestions, advising me about wedding invitation etiquette, checking the restrooms throughout the evening and even bringing extra toilet paper (just in case!). She even took on the challenge of coordinating sources of electricity, water, and fly mitigation which could have been deal breakers during the reception!
    Throughout my association with Christine, I found her to be kind, compassionate, a good listener, hard working, efficient, and an excellent leader from beginning to end. Christine and her team took over the day of the wedding and finished every detail without being asked. As the mother of the bride, I walked onto the venue and was proud of every aspect of the finished product. Christine Forester and her team worked behind the scenes to produce a well executed and planned affair that was memorable for all who attended. (She even boxed up all the left overs and placed them in the refrigerator for us!)
    I cannot overstate the depth of my admiration, respect, and awe for the job Christine did as a wedding planner. She filled in gaps between vendor services and did what was necessary to create a polished and beautiful event. Christine worked with the impossible and made it look easy. I could not have survived without her guidance, positive attitude, and tireless efforts. I recommend her unequivocally for any event, party, and yes, wedding celebration! I had total confidence that Christine and her team would create the vision we planned for the wedding/reception and execute it flawlessly. And I was 100% correct!

    Thanks My Big Day!

    We so appreciated having My Big Day take the coordination lead on our wedding day so that we could just be present in the moment and not have to worry about all the details. It gave us great comfort being able to review all the details in advance to ensure we weren't missing anything. Christine was an incredible resource throughout the planning by being available and responsive with any questions. This team has lots of expertise to share and they are a joy to work with!

We were delighted with all that the team brought to the experience.     Great Day of Coordinators!!

    My Big Day was very responsive and took us in VERY last minute when we decided we wanted some day of coordination. We worked with 4 lovely ladies including Christine, Carrie, Sarah, and Yvette. First they helped get everything ready in the days leading up to the wedding (vendors, contracts, schedules, etc). The day of they helped decorate, direct guests to our ceremony site and then reception area, manage the vendors, plated food for us specifically so we could mingle with our guests, and overall helped everything go smoothly! We highly recommend them if you are in the market for an event planner!

    I definitely could not have planned our destination wedding to Colorado without the help of My Big Day Events. I loved working along side Christine and her associates. I really was not loving the wedding planning process, and these girls made everything so easy. They thought of everything and were so fun to work with. Everything at the ceremony and reception sites turned out beautifully. On the day of Marissa and Katie was so attentive to my husband and I, and the decorating they did turned out beautifully. I couldn't have asked for a better day.

    Christine and her team are awesome. I hired my big day for day of coordination. We met several times before the wedding day going over details and suggestions. The weeks leading up to the wedding, Christine was very responsive and communicated/suggested things I didn't even think of before. On the actual day, they handled everything well and I didn't have to worry about anything. I'll definitely recommend having a day of coordinator if you don't have a planner and using My Big Day, one of the best decisions I made.

    When they said "anything to help" they really meant it. Arranged flowers, made pictures, helped put food out, cleaned, stage managed, danced, etc. Took a load of stress off and caught a number of things that would have fallen through the cracks had it been left in our hands!

    They are a cut above the rest. The owner goes above and beyond. She offers so much for the price sh charges. Any problem can be solved and she is on top of it all. Things never run smoothly at big events however she makes them seem as though no hiccups ever happened. Amazing experience. Well worth getting a planner. Not just for weddings. This company has so many social events on their own and it's great for meeting new people and making new friends or new memories. Love all the events they have to offer from casual to formal. These events are the place to be in NoCo.

    My husband, my mother, and I are all so grateful we hired Christine and her crew to help us on our special day! They helped us to make our day just as we had envisioned it. Christine came up with ideas and asked questions about details I had not even thought about a couple months before our wedding. She was quick to make decisions when we had some bad weather come in at the top of a ski hill and she helped us to carry out our backup plans for the weather. We were so happy how our wedding turned out and how she allowed us to remain stress free throughout our day. She always had a cheerful smile on her face and she was always thinking of the next event we got to complete in our schedule. She set up all of our detailed decorations that my mother and I had created and she followed our instructions so it looked just as we had imagined. I would highly recommend My Big Day Events to help you plan and orchestrate your wedding day.

    If there were some six or seven point selectis on this review form, my husband and I would select that!! Going above and beyond is certainly the hallmark of Christine and the crew at My Big Day! They impressed us every step of the way through total dedication to our event, thoughtful suggestions, and attention to detail. We could have NEVER done the event without them!

    They are a delight to work with and their reputation certainly bodes well for them in Northern Colorado -they are so well respected by other vendors because of their track record of fantastic events.

    One other note here: sometimes working with wedding vendors can make you feel like your vision isn't sophisticated enough, isn't grandiose enough, isn't (fill in the blank here) enough. My man and I wanted a laid-back fun affair the at was a bit nontraditional. The gals at MBD "got" what we wanted to do and were excited about it from day one. They make sure to make YOUR vision unfold so your day is special and relaxing!

    Christine and Jessica were a huge help with our Compnay Holiday Party. They were assisting all throughout the night with whatever we needed help with. They did a great job hosting our Trivia as well as handing out prizes to the guests. We would recommend My Big Day Events to anyone that needs help with party planning. Christine was extremely professional as well as very reliable with providing alternatives to our games as well as other options that she has done in the past.

    I can't say enough about My Big Day Events. Christine and her team went above and beyond to make our day perfect!
    We interviewed so many vendors... They all started to blur together. And in one meeting with Christine we knew she was the perfect fit! My Big Day gave us tools and advice beyond what we could find online.
    When we had trouble with our caterer, Christine made the call to correct their mistakes. When reviewing our contracts, she saw an unfair fee in our venue contract and got it waived even after we had signed our paperwork! She is an angel!
    The other vendors we hired thanked us for hiring My Big Day because Christine communicated with everyone so well, it made everyone's job easier!
    If only I had more girlfriends who were engaged... I would recommend this wedding planner to every single one!

    we found my big day with online searches and enjoyed our meetings with christine. on the day of the rehearsal she was very helpful. on the wedding day there were some disappointments. the planning team was to set up the decorations we provided and light the candles the florist provided. things were not totally set up the way we had discussed, but it was ok. unfortunately the candles never got lit and when my husband asked her about it she said they had been lit but must have gotten blown out. this was not true as they were brand new candles and the wicks were unburnt. they were also supposed to pack up everything we had provided and we are still missing several things including our pricey cake topper we had planned to save as a keepsake. we were able to locate some of the missing items by working with the venue, however christine didn't answer our calls the next day to help us find them. when we initially asked about some of the missing items she said she thought they belonged to the venue and a few weeks later she claimed to have left them for the groomsmen. we were disappointed with having to run around the large venue the day after our wedding to locate the items we had paid her to pack up. she ended up leaving a little early that night to drive back even though we had been required to book her a local hotel room. maybe if they had not been in a hurry to make the drive back we would have our lost items. overall fair price, but i guess sometimes you get what you pay for.

    Unprepared

    I’ve been debating on writing this for a while now…

    1. The responsiveness, level of documentation, assistance with resources, and organization prior to the event was fantastic
    2. The day of was a hot mess
    3. Before the wedding and throughout the process our day of coordinator said they’d have a team of people to set up and take down…they only had one person on that day
    4. The coordinator was supposed to arrive at 10 to get decorations set up…cell service was not an issue and I didn’t receive any calls from her AND she did not answer the multiple calls I sent to her before pictures an HOUR before the ceremony
    5. An hour before the ceremony is also being generous because it was actually 30 minutes before the guests arrived
    6. In that time she was supposed to set up the ceremony area, set up the reception area, and coordinate payment with the vendors
    7. Our florist arrived at the bridal suite at 1:00 as we were about to get done with pictures saying she had not been paid…this was the time I started calling the coordinator with no response and ended up having to ask the groomsmen to get the payments we left in the reception area
    8. At 3 we went up to the ceremony for pictures and found it undecorated. The coordinator shows up saying she can’t find the trailer with the rest of the decorations…but she made no prior effort to come to the bridal suite for questions and coordination
    9. By the time she got to the decorations it was just her and no other help so she made groomsmen set up as she micromanaged
    10. The coordination with the dj was nonexistent as it was obvious that he did not follow my explicit instructions and she clearly did not as she did not assist with feedback
    11. By the time the ceremony was over she had no one to help her clean up so my entire side of the family had to help…once again as she simply micromanaged and didn’t lift a finger
    12. While the reception was set up it was clear that she didn’t follow the pictures and instructions for set up that I gave her. It was pretty and she was super lucky I was chill, but damn…


    I honestly should have asked for a refund but that was so exhausting. At this time they should just offer it because that service was trash.

    Thank dog I’m never getting married again because never again with MBD.

    Just do not. Their pricing is decent…but if you’re not the chillest person in the room do you think they can handle you? No. Answer: no.

    Oh Claire,
    This review was shocking and alarming. To think that you have been sitting on these feelings and opinions for 7 months is so sad. We’re sorry to see that you didn’t feel comfortable picking up the phone or emailing – and felt the best way to handle the situation is by leaving reviews of our company in every place you can. We know firsthand what disappointment in vendors feels like and it is crushing. Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life and we take our responsibility very seriously. Your report of what you experienced is so drastically different than what was experienced on our end, we felt it important to respond to your itemized list.
    As we discussed in our pre-planning meetings, every little detail of your BIG DAY may not go off as planned, but our job is to make sure we handle all of life’s little emergencies and make sure that bride and groom only see the AMAZING and not the obstacles behind the scenes. Your wedding had more obstacles than the average wedding --- but we never once came to you or your husband to raise alarm. We handled everything with grace and sweat.
    Our entire team met yesterday to recall and account your wedding again, review our files, and make sure that we carefully note each detail. All 3 of your planners (you said you only had one) met to discuss the items below.
    1. The responsiveness, level of documentation, assistance with resources, and organization prior to the event was fantastic. ***Thank you – we pride ourselves on details.

    2. The day of was a hot mess ***Responses below.

    3. Before the wedding and throughout the process our day of coordinator said they’d have a team of people to set up and take down…they only had one person on that day ***This is not true. You contracted 2 planners and a bartender. You had a dedicated onsite planner at your ceremony site, a dedicated planner at the reception, and all 3 planners assisted with reception decorating and service, and one planner moved on to the bartending once set up was complete.

    4. The coordinator was supposed to arrive at 10 to get decorations set up…cell service was not an issue and I didn’t receive any calls from her AND she did not answer the multiple calls I sent to her before pictures an HOUR before the ceremony. ***You contracted us for 2pm-11pm. We even added an extra hour of service for free to your contract. Your timeline stated that at 10am all of your décor was supposed to be dropped off to the reception hall. When our planners arrived (prior to 2pm start time), the décor was not at the reception hall. We knew that your family was bringing a trailer, but it was nowhere to be found. Our planners drove in 2 separate vehicles around the 600+ acre property, looking for your trailer and calling you (but didn’t get a hold of you… the YMCA has limited cell service as you know). One of our planners found the trailer, and it was locked! So… the planners drove the property to try and find your bridal party… we finally found the groomsmen who had the key. Once we had the key, we needed to unload and transport your décor to the reception site. This was not what we had discussed. You had far more décor than listed in our pre-planning documents and photos. It took 4 trips in SUVs (one Yukon) with all of your décor. We unloaded it at the reception site, and were finally able to start decorating.

    5. An hour before the ceremony is also being generous because it was actually 30 minutes before the guests arrived ***Your timeline was set for a 3pm arrival to your ceremony site for light décor. Your bridal party arrived early to the ceremony, which is always perfectly fine, but why we were still decorating when you arrived. As discussed in our pre-planning meetings and with your venue, glass is not allowed on the mountain top, and tall décor is not recommended due to wind. Not only did you provide tall décor that was blown over, but tons of glass which we begged your venue – even though against contract --- so we could give you your vision. Wouldn’t you know, glass was broken and your lead planner at the ceremony site severely cut open her hand picking up the glass. Nevertheless, she persisted and your ceremony was beautiful.

    6. In that time she was supposed to set up the ceremony area, set up the reception area, and coordinate payment with the vendors. ***Your lead planner was at the ceremony site at 3pm as planned. Your other planner was at the reception site, setting up with the YMCA staff and our other planner/bartender.

    7. Our florist arrived at the bridal suite at 1:00 as we were about to get done with pictures saying she had not been paid…this was the time I started calling the coordinator with no response and ended up having to ask the groomsmen to get the payments we left in the reception area. ***We had not received the envelopes from you at 1pm, as our arrival time was contracted for 2pm. We always handle payments/gratuity when requested and we have the envelopes in hand.

    8. At 3 we went up to the ceremony for pictures and found it undecorated. The coordinator shows up saying she can’t find the trailer with the rest of the decorations…but she made no prior effort to come to the bridal suite for questions and coordination. ***Notes above.

    9. By the time she got to the decorations it was just her and no other help so she made groomsmen set up as she micromanaged ***We never ask for help, but happily accept it if offered. You had far more décor than listed in our planning documents and discussions prior to the big day – but would never force guests to set up.

    10. The coordination with the dj was nonexistent as it was obvious that he did not follow my explicit instructions and she clearly did not as she did not assist with feedback ***You hired an exceptionally capable DJ company. Their communication prior to an event is excellent. Your DJ had full notes from you and your husband, along with our detailed ceremony timeline. We cannot play the music or adjust audio for your hired vendors. We do, however, fully communicate with them during the event to make sure we are all on the same page with timeline and adjustments as needed.

    11. By the time the ceremony was over she had no one to help her clean up so my entire side of the family had to help…once again as she simply micromanaged and didn’t lift a finger ***Not only were there 3 members of our team cleaning up…. We stayed an additional hour past our contracted time due to the additional amount of décor. We didn’t say a thing. We didn’t invoice you for the additional hour of labor – for 3 planners. Your family hugged us, thanked us, and asked if they could help. Again, if family asks to help- we are fine with this. We NEVER ask for help from guests.

    12. While the reception was set up it was clear that she didn’t follow the pictures and instructions for set up that I gave her. It was pretty and she was super lucky I was chill, but damn… ***We printed off all of your notes, our correspondence and your hand drawn diagrams. Since there was more décor provided than listed in notes, we used our best assumption of where you would want items and used all 4 car loads of décor provided. During the reception, there were a number of areas we helped trouble-shoot, your venue put in extra hours and staff at no cost to help with details they too did not have on their written contract with you. When you broke a nail…. we were there with our emergency kits and super glue.


    I honestly should have asked for a refund but that was so exhausting. At this time they should just offer it because that service was trash. ***Again, it is with great disappointment we are reading this review and having to respond to defend our work ethic and professionalism. The 2 planners who managed all of your details have worked countless weddings at your venue and have never been met with such feedback. We are sorry that this has weighed heavily on you for so long and wish you would have reached out directly before choosing to review us online.
