Where do I even begin? Hunter Smith from Opal & Slate Events is an absolute miracle worker and the driving force behind the perfection that was our wedding day. If I could give her ten stars, I would without a second thought.
From the very first meeting, Hunter radiated passion, creativity, and an unrivaled commitment to turning our dreams into reality. Her attention to detail and ability to envision every aspect of our day left us in awe. But it wasn't until the whirlwind of wedding planning truly began that we realized the superhero we had in Hunter.
She went above and beyond in ways we never could have imagined. The stressors that come with wedding planning were practically nonexistent thanks to Hunter's expert guidance. She flawlessly coordinated with vendors, ensuring that every flower was in place, every guest was accounted for, and every moment was perfectly timed. Her ability to juggle a million tasks while remaining poised and calm is a skill that cannot be taught – it's simply a part of who she is.
Hunter's personal touch made us feel like we were her only clients, despite knowing she had a busy schedule. She took the time to understand our personalities, preferences, and style, incorporating them seamlessly into every detail of the day. Her creativity shone through in the unique and beautiful touches that made our wedding truly one-of-a-kind.
But where Hunter truly proved herself to be a lifesaver was on the actual day of the wedding. There was a last-minute hiccup with the venue's layout, and I was on the verge of a breakdown. Enter Hunter, with a smile on her face and a solution in hand. She tackled the issue head-on and transformed what could have been a disaster into a seamless transition. I shudder to think how different the day would have been without her quick thinking and calming presence.
Hunter wasn't just a wedding planner; she became a friend, a confidant, and a guiding light during one of the most exciting yet nerve-wracking times of our lives. Her dedication was evident in every text message answered at odd hours, every late-night brainstorming session, and every reassuring hug when the nerves kicked in.
In the end, our wedding day was an absolute dream come true, and it's all thanks to Hunter. Opal & Slate Events is more than lucky to have her as a part of their team, and any couple who has the opportunity to work with her is truly blessed.

We stumbled across Opal and Slate Events through an Instagram giveaway. Although her services were free through the giveaway, Hunter displayed the utmost level of professionalism, timeliness, joyfulness, and expertise. My now husband looked forward to every meeting I had with Hunter, as he knew that Hunter would ease my nerves about deadlines and details I was antsy of. I was a mostly DIY-bride and consider myself a fair planner, but I cannot imagine not having a day-of-coordinator, especially one as incredible as her! Hunter makes it so easy to compartmentalize your planning through effective monthly meetings, and she will solve every snafu which arises DURING your wedding day. Every time we had an issue on our day, Hunter would say, “It’s ok! I got it handled”, and my husband and I would look at each other and say, “We love Hunter.” From organizing timelines, ensuring smooth communication with vendors, to even having clear umbrellas at hand for a rainy day, she has your back, and with a cheerful smile too. Again, Hunter didn’t have to go above and beyond for us, but she did, and it made our day all the more lovely and magical. If you’re on the fence about hiring a coordinator/planner for your special day, consider this a strong nudge towards doing so — you deserve it. -

Opal & Slates was the BEST decision I made in this whole process. As a self-proclaimed planner, I was hesitant to hire a planner, thinking I could do it all myself. Boy was I wrong! Reaching out to Hunter at Opal & Slate Events saved my sanity. Day of Coordination is SO much more than you realize ladies, and Hunter will guide you through it seamlessly! Making sure you check off all the items on the to do list to avoid dealing with headaches on your wedding day is a MUST. In addition to check-ins to make sure we were on track leading up to the day, Hunter handled communications with my vendors behind the scenes so I didn’t have to worry about who would be where, doing what, at what time. If I ever checked in, my vendors assured me “I’ve already discussed the details with Hunter”. Such a relief! Not to mention the little (metaphorical) fires here and there on wedding day. She was so calm and cheerful no matter what, there when I needed her, and made sure everything got done, looked good, and was on time. She polished rings, wrangled family and bridal parties, held my dress out of the dirt. You name it, she was ready. Cannot recommend Opal & Slate Events enough. They were ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! This was the biggest bang for my buck out of any wedding expense! My husband, bridal party, family, and even others were complimenting us on what a great job they did. Do yourself the biggest favor and call them today! -

Hunter is hands down the most phenomenal wedding coordinator out there. My wedding was on Leap Day and my husband and I are still sitting here in awe of how perfect the day was. We did Hunter's part time package and added invitation management. I was a pretty decisive (and at times neurotic) bride. Hunter could easily read when I needed help vs when I had it handled. She assembled, and mailed all of our inviations and tracked all RSVPs and even coordinated with our inviation vendor about any hiccups without worrying me. Hunter handled all detail and vendor coordination and checked in on me regularly to take more off my plate if needed. She helped facilitate the wedding so well that my husband and I can truly look back our wedding and say we were able to enjoy the day and not worry about herding relatives, clean up etc. All of that is worth every penny to us and we could not be more grateful to Opal + Slate!

We had the best Wedding Planner in Houston, Neesley Events ! Our Day of Coordinator, Hunter was the perfect fit for my daughter and her now husband. She made everything easy from the minute she began working with us. When the "Big Day" came, we were ready thanks to Neesley Events. I was so relaxed thanks to Hunter and was able to enjoy the wedding and all of our guests. I highly recommend Neesley Events! They were awesome ! -

Don’t fret about your big day with Neesley Events in your corner. There are so many big & small details to keep organized & Hunter did this plus more for us! The plus more is how personal yet professional Hunter is. She put my wife’s mind at is during the build up, & we know “happy spouse, happy house.” Highly recommend! -
