People are STILL talking about the wedding! Steve was absolutely amazing from officiating to DJing and everything in between! Our guests loved the music, the flow, his ceremony style... EVERYTHING! WE loved everything!!! He was a great guy to work with. Steve, thank you so very much for making our wedding exactly how we hoped- FUN & MEMORABLE! The photobooth was a HUGE hit, the uplighting was perfect, the LOVE letters were so perfectly placed around the sweetheart table, and you really got the crowd going!! -

Stacey Sent on 01/29/2018If you need a great DJ for a wedding or any occasion, you must book “New York Sounds DJ & Entertainment!” My husband and I just got married two weeks ago, and Steve made the party jump the whole time! He is so personable and sweet, he takes time to listen to you and your needs & provides great recommendations. Value & expectations for services are uncomparable! From the moment we meet Steve at the coffee shop, (while dj shopping) we knew that his personality and love for what he does, he would be our dj! Thank you again Steve & New York Sounds for being a part of our special day & making it a night I will never forget.

Unfortunately, we had a very unpleasant experience with this company. At our ceremony, they had multiple equipment failures which ultimately pushed everything back, and throughout the night the DJ insulted and belittled our guests. We booked Steve, the owner of the company, about 10 months before our wedding date and secured that he would be our DJ. He informed us that if he couldn’t make it to our event, someone from his team will fill in for him. This is standard procedure for any vendor, and this does commonly happen. We had multiple phone calls before the day of to confirm his attendance and services would be provided. This included going over song selections, songs we didn’t want played, and going over the uplighting for our reception space. We understand his situation, and we feel bad the DJ had an emergency that kept him from personally performing at our wedding. Unfortunately, these things happen. We (nor our coordinator) received any type of communication from the covering person. He had issues with the audio equipment delaying the ceremony start time, he did not use the uplighting we requested, and played songs that were on our “no” list. In addition, the day after our wedding we were told by multiple people about rude comments the DJ made. These included calling one of our guests a “midget” and negative comments about the best man speech. We reached out to Steve the next day, and all he commented on was that he doesn’t like to cause “panic” to a bride by contacting them and that they receive “nothing less than 5 star reviews”. The coordinator was just as shocked as us. His entire response was unapologetic and unprofessional, with a lot of excuses. Thankfully our guests know how to have an amazing time regardless of any situation because they were there to celebrate us and don’t let anything stop them from partying. But at the end of the day, I would not be recommending this vendor to anyone.
