    Highly recommend!

Pete was very easy to work with. He was very quick to responding to all the questions I had, he was helpful with the planning process, very easy to communicate, and he was very accommodating to our situation. He overall made sure that everything went smoothly on the wedding day. Would highly recommend working with Pete!

Be careful which DJ they give you.

We hired Pete with NW Event Sound in 2020, just before the pandemic. He was fantastic at communicating with us throughout our 2 postponements. He also performed his MC duties wonderfully. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this company after our entire experience because we got passed off to another DJ for the second half of our event.

Less than a month before our wedding day we became aware that Pete would not be the only DJ and he would be joined by someone named DJ Erwin. We spoke to Pete on the phone and he explained that he would take care of all the MC work and once the open dance party started DJ Erwin would take over. We had our final details meeting over zoom 3 days prior to our wedding day, where we were supposed to meet DJ Erwin but he did not show. We asked Pete beforehand when our final songs list should be finished and he told us by the final details meeting. We finished it the day before the meeting.

Fast forward to the wedding day, Pete was great from our ceremony through dinner with all the MC duties.

However, when the open dance party started and DJ Erwin took over everything went downhill. He did not have the updated songs list which was a huge disappointment after how long I worked on it. He was working off of a preliminary list we had made a month before. Not only that but he had no concept of how to blend songs, stopping them in the middle of verses sometimes. Every transition was abrupt, to the point where several guests pointed it out to us the next day. I would have rather just had every song play all the way through than what he was doing. My other issue is that there were things on our do not play list that got played. Hearing our guests complain about the DJ was super disappointing.

Overall, Pete did a great job and I would recommend him if it was just him. He was great to communicate with and did his job well. Unfortunately he dropped the ball passing it on to DJ Erwin and vouching for someone who did not do a good job. I would not recommend DJ Erwin.

    Poor communication and mistreatment

I was treated so poorly by these folks. Our wedding reception got cancelled due to covid and Pete and I had in our contact that in that case with enough notice my retainer would be refunded. When cancelling I talked to Pete who enthusiastically said of course the retainer would be returned and that it was actually against state law not to do so. He said he'd get it to me in a few days. That was back in August.

I called him multiple times to check in on the status of the refund, waiting enough time in case there were issues on his end. I sent emails. Nothing, no response. I finally called a different company number where Tony(?) told me that Pete had left the company which they bought from him and they didn't have my retainer. I was shocked. Since the contract was still with NW Sound they said they'd arrange for a refund but it might take a few weeks . That was in September. Same situations. - called a few times, left messages and no follow up at all.

I understand covid has been hard on businesses and can put them in a tough situation. But I don't appreciate being lied to repeatedly about what actions will be taken and then outright ignored/avoided. I am just so thankful I didn't end having these folks as my actual DJs at a party because I can only imagine how poorly that would go given their poor communication and lack if professional in this case.

Awful DJ services, worst part of our wedding.

We had a great wedding, but the DJ did not contribute at all to making our day special. At least one thing goes wrong at a wedding, and for us, that was NW Event Sound. And while it didn’t “ruin” our wedding, it left a sour taste in our mouths and we wished we had hired someone else. We spoke with Pete leading up to our wedding and was excited to use his services. A week before the wedding, he got hurt and called us to tell us he found a replacement. We get it, life happens. His replacement was an employee, Ed Morris. He brought lights, all of his own equipment, dressed professionally. Where things went downhill was when he actually started DJ-ing. The songs we requested through their own dj portal were not played, and a bunch of random songs no one knew kept getting played. This killed the dance vibe. Also, when he announced what was happening next during the reception, he didn’t speak clearly and no one could hear him or knew what was next on the agenda. Pete assured me they would sync up with the photographers so that no special moments would be missed, but that wasn’t is the case. The worst part was that the music kept stopping abruptly, completely killing the vibe. My wife’s bridesmaids and friends planned a surprise choreographed dance and was a huge surprise and wonderful! And about a minute in, the audio froze completely. Ed kept trying to replay it but it kept freezing at different parts. Finally, a bridesmaid used her own phone to get it working. Everytime the music froze, you could feel the tension in the room build. Our guests would groan and sigh when the music stopped and it was embarrassing. It boggles my mind that the person we pay to do one job of playing music, is not capable of doing that job. My brother with spotify would’ve been better. We reached out to Pete, Ed, and Tone (the boss) after the wedding to get feedback, but we have heard nothing but silence. No answer or apology. I do not recommend their services. Luckily, we can joke about this now, but the butt of the joke is NW Event Sound. Our friends tell us, “your wedding was amazing! Except for that DJ!”
