Fantastic photography experience with Nylagray Photography!
We cannot recommend Nelson enough! After looking through many photographers' portfolios, we really appreciated many aspects of Nelson's style. On the artistic side, we loved that all of his shots have great composition, a good balance of posed shots with candids; he has a great mix of "artsy" and "true to life" shots, and most importantly he captures not only the important moments of weddings but also how loves ones react to these important moments. On the technical side, we appreciated that his photographs are well lit (not over-exposed/blown out, as seems to be the current trend with many photographers), few photos have an obvious flash, and he has the skill to capture fast movement (like dancing, which was important to us!). He brought all of these skills to both our engagement photoshoot and our wedding, and we've loved the results.
While preparing for the wedding, he made the process painless - probably the easiest vendor conversations we've had - and he was able to speak with us on both artistic and technical levels. On the day of the wedding, he brought a warm smile, calm energy, and was great at getting interesting and fun shots with us and our guests. He has consistently been easy to talk to, open to suggestions (and quick to kindly offer his own!), and professional throughout. We've already been thinking of excuses to work with him again, and that should tell you all you need to know! -

Highly Recommended
Nelson was great to work with.
He was easy to get a hold of throughout the years-long covid-delayed wedding planning process and he made time for multiple phone conversations to make sure we were all on the same page.
On our wedding day, the two of us were so anxious and frantic, but Nelson brought such a warm, calming energy, as did his 2nd photographer which he brought. We really like how it never got too "posey" or "cheesy". Throughout the shoot, things felt really natural and organic.
Our photos came quick! The dust from our wedding had barely settled when our photos were ready for downloading and we got to relive the magic of our big day all over again. The photos came out GORGEOUSLY, especially the ones of the two of us.
Thank you so much for capturing this momentous day for us. We will cherish these photos for the rest of our lives. -

Nelson is an understated yet confident photographer who helped capture our event perfectly. He was so easy to work with and quietly floated throughout the event capturing the big key moments, but even more importantly the quiet candid ones. We will treasure these photos forever.
Given how many aggressive personalities there can be in this space - Nelson was so refreshingly calm and easy to work with. He listened to what we wanted and totally delivered. Highly recommend working with him for any type of event you want captured forever! -

Highly recommend Nelson to shoot your special day!
Looking back at our wedding photos, we just cannot believe how precisely these perfect moments were captured. I only now realize how important that is to look back at these photos, and understand the excitement and atmosphere from each frame, apart from being beautiful of course. Nelson did exactly that - the photos are gorgeous, and just us!
We were looking for a photographer that would capture natural moments, some quirky silly ones, some classy romantic ones, with soft natural colors. We shared with Nelson some of our inspiration and he totally took it from there and did an amazing job!
Before the wedding day Nelson sent us a 'cheat sheet' of how to best plan the day, how many minutes to account for when taking family photos, and our own bride and groom photos. This made planning the day way more streamlined and that was greatly appreciated!
During the day itself, Nelson was so organized but also kept things at ease. This was super important for us - as he made sure we are good with timing, we felt comfortable to pose, but also had enough directions from him so that we don't stand awkwardly in front of the camera.
Highly recommend Nelson for your special day!

Best photography experience
From start to finish, the process of booking with Nelson and Nylagray was seamless and simple!
My husband and I found Nylagray when Googling photos of weddings at our venue and fell in love with Nelson's perspective while watching slideshows on the Nylagray website. All of our communications occurred via email which made things super simple for a couple who both work long hours and had an eventful year leading up to the wedding. I was so impressed when Nelson emailed me the week of our wedding with photos he had taken while scouting our location (in NJ) for areas to do just bride and groom photos which I had requested happen before photos with our families at the wedding venue. That's dedication! As a character performer I am used to having my photo taken but in "posed" portraits, but this was my first photo session of this type. I was actually a little nervous about how natural the photos between my husband and I would come out because of that, but Nelson was able to simply capture moments of us as they happened without us having to feel coached or like we were being watched...hahaha. We quickly got all of the photos we wanted done with immediate family and our tiny wedding party, and Nelson was kind enough to offer to take posed photos during the reception that any of our guests wanted for a good 30 minutes until everyone was done.
The cost of the package was 100% worth it and we were so thrilled to be able to digitally download the photos for free and offer that service to our guests, since there were so many great candid shots of our guests as well as posed family and friend photos! The feedback we've gotten from guests and friends who were not in attendance is that they are the best wedding photos they have ever seen....and my husband and I agree!
I could go on forever saying great things about Nylagray, but I'll sum it all up this way: these photos are your memories forever of the most important day in your life, so go with the best and book with Nylagray! -

Not only was he recommended by other photographers, but frrom our first conversation, Nelson was understanding, flexible, humble and really understood what my husband and I were looking for in the 'feel' of our wedding. We had to change our wedding plans and Nelson rolled with the punches and was completely flexible. On the day of the wedding, he was a calming presence, directed us on what we needed to do for the pictures and then blended in the background. He was awesome. Everyone in the wedding party and all of my guests couldn't stop raving about what a nice guy and how awesome Nelson is! We can't wait to see the pics! -

We met Nelson at my husband’s twin brother’s wedding in 2016, and saw firsthand not only how friendly, warm, and laid back he was, but what an amazing photographer he is and how much love he brings into it. He was the first vendor we hired over a year before our backyard wedding in June 2018, and he was extremely professional and responsive in all of our communication. On the day of, Nelson came early to take getting ready photos, and blended right in immediately, easily taking photos without anyone seeming to notice he was there - it was sweet that he already knew one side of the family! He then took some family portraits, which he managed to do quickly and painlessly, even capturing genuine smiles from some of our less comfortable in front of the camera family members! During dinner and dancing Nelson was right in the action, getting so many amazing shots of people smiling, dancing, and talking to each other - the kind of photos we were really excited for. We received our photos as promised about 6 weeks after the wedding, and they were SO beautiful - the portraits highlighted his amazing ability to capture the most perfect light and put people at ease, and the more candid shots truly captured JOY - we are so grateful to have that gift after a day that was so important yet fleeting! It was such a pleasure to work with Nelson, and in our time with him at both weddings, we not only got to see what a great photographer he is, but what a kind and genuine person he is as well. We can’t recommend him highly enough, and hope to see him at future family and friend's weddings!

User1849122 Sent on 10/06/2014Take if from the father of the bride, Nylagray is the photographer you can trust to capture every memory of your special day. Nelson’s work speaks for itself. Beautiful sense of light. Artful composition. But what makes Nelson and his team so unique is how unobtrusive, accommodating and professional they are. They never once got in the way but were somehow always there to capture a special moment. Fast and efficient, they allowed the bride and groom to join the reception quickly after they created many beautiful shots of the couple. Importantly, Nelson has a genuine respect for the family that made him a joy to be with. I can’t recommend him more strongly.
