When I decided to plan my wedding in Ojai I quickly realized that I would need to plan multiple events since all of my guests were coming in from out of town. I scoured the small town for a venue where we could host our "welcome dinner", but it took me a while to find a place with a fun vibe, great menu, and outdoor space that fit our budget. A close family friend of mine had recently moved from Ojai and said his favorite place to go on a Friday night was the Deer Lodge and as soon as I walked in and sat down with Sophia, I knew it checked all of those boxes.
Sophia, the owner, was AMAZING to work with! She tailored the menu to fit exactly what we wanted (many dietary restrictions), worked within our budget (even with an open bar), and went above and beyond to make the night seamless. She set up the sound system so that our bridal party could give their speeches, let us play our own music, and made a beautiful welcome sign for our guests. The space itself is intimate and already well decorated so we didn't have to do much in terms of decor. We wanted this night to be a party, and it definitely was!
Not only did we host our welcome dinner there, but we also decided to host our "after party" there! Because there is a 10 pm sound ordinance in Ojai, we shuttled all of our guests back to the Deer Lodge to continue the party. Each of our guests received a wristband as they got on the shuttle and were able to enjoy an open bar and an amazing DJ for the rest of the night.
Sophia and the entire Deer Lodge team are so accommodating and kind- I would recommend doing an event there any day. Our wedding weekend would not have been as perfect if it wasn't for this awesome establishment.
