We love Janet!

We couldn’t have been happier with our choice of using Okie Cookies Catering for our daughter’s reception! Janet and her team were extremely helpful and the Italian themed dinner was wonderful! The cake was not only beautiful, it was SO GOOD! She has a ton of experience and a solid company. We highly recommend!

Great food and great service!

I am so glad we went with Janet!! We used her services for the cake, catering, bartending, and day of coordinating. It made planning so much less stressful not having to look for all of those individually. She will also provide basically anything you need! Hint: I did NOT buy any decor! Janet responds quickly, and I'm pretty sure I told her about the rehearsal the day of, and she was there! Her food is delicious, we went with a taco bar, and the cake and cupcakes were absolutely AMAZING! She kept me calm during the big day, and even the little mishaps that happened, she took care of, and we didn't even notice until the end of the night. I cannot say enough great things about her, and I tell everyone about Okie Cookie!

Very Happy with this Caterer - Vendor!

We picked a venue that was quite a ways away from our home, as well as our guests as it was close to our Daughter and Son in Law's family. We did not know who to find to do our catering, but they recommended Janet at Okie Cookies Catering and I am SO GLAD they did. They were absolutely great and the food was wonderful. We ran into a couple of issues due to Covid Concerns and Janet jumped in with a solution and the wedding was a success due to her awesome food and supportive staff. Most caterers or vendors would say, Ummm that's NOT my job. However, NOT Janet! She either said, I will take care of it or how can I help! What a Rarity and Blessing for this outside wedding. They did it all from the Cake, Food, Beverages, Glasses, Silverward, Plates, Decorations, etc. and set it all up and got is all ready. For our other daughters wedding, we had to do ALL of that and it was overwhelming as well as it was more expensive. With Janet, I asked and she would get and take care of any need. I am blessed to have found her and will recommend her any and everyday to anyone that is looking for a great caterer and amazing food. We were so happy to have leftovers and still enjoying :)

Highly Recommended!

I can’t say enough good things about Janet. From the moment we first met her she made us feel at ease about the stresses of planning a wedding. She can do anything from food, to flowers, linens, place settings, bar-tending, you name it she can do it. She truly cares about her customers. We even had her caterer the wedding shower. She made our cake for the wedding and the shower, both cakes were delicious as well as the food for the shower. She also picked up, delivered and set up the flowers at the wedding.
We had a small wedding but if it had been huge she would have done everything for us. I’d say she’s and all-inclusive wedding planner/caterer because she can do it all. She also has great suggestions for anything else you may need such as a DJ etc. I highly recommend her if you want to have a fabulous wedding without stressing out about everything. She is a total professional and is great at what she does and she loves doing it. One of the most caring, professional, organized people you will meet. I can’t thank you enough! Dana Green

The CAKE was delish!

Janet was super awesome during our tastings and was very budget friendly. We did italian food and a champagne cake with her frosting and it all came out so delicious! She also includes anything else you need in the price (ie linens plates glasses and even signs and cake stands)

Best Experience!

We booked with Janet before reading reviews because she was a preferred vendor for our venue. I curiously read reviews after paying the deposit just because and was shocked to see negative ones as so far, I had a great experience with Janet. I asked the opinion of my venue and even expressed some concerns to Janet and was assured that everything will be up to par - and boy was it! Janet was not only a great vendor but a friend during this crazy planning process. She always spoke to me as an equal and didn't mind explaining things to me. It was always like talking a friend rather than a vendor! She responded to emails quickly, and always helped in anyway she could. I am so glad we went with Janet and would do it a hundred times over. She did a desert bar, pasta bar, cake, and bar for us. Everything was delicious and all guests were happy. I would confidently recommended her to anyone.

Janet and her crew were fantastic. She assured me her guys would be there at 9:00 am to start setting up tables and they were early. They put linens, chargers, napkins, glassware and utensils all on tables for us. Okie cookie provides so much for the money. She provided bar service, wedding cake, food, decorations for us. This made things so much easier to have one person doing all instead of several vendors. I have/will recommend okie cookie to others. The value you received for the money is so worth it.

Janet, owner of Okie Cookies Catering, was our greatest blessing during our wedding planning process and for our special day. Janet coordinated our wedding day, worked seamlessly with our vendors, and was a firm and helpful voice when I needed help with other vendors. She catered our nearly 500 guests wedding with the highest quality and most delicious food at the most reasonable price. Words cannot express how delicious her food is and I cannot remember how many guests commented on how great the food was. She has beautiful table linens, chargers, cake platters, serving ware, and more for brides to rent. While she does not financially need to have a wedding catering service, she does it because she truly enjoys catering for weddings and providing wedding planning services for couples. Janet is genuinely one of the kindest people I have ever met. My family and I will definitely be using her for our future events!

Janet with Okie Cookies Catering definitely went above and beyond for my Husband and I. From our first meeting on, she was absolutely nothing but helpful and flexible with us. By the time we left our final tasting, I was in tears because of how sweet and awesome Janet was... We truly felt blessed to have been referred to her for our catering needs. She definitely catered to all of our wants and needs, all while staying in our budget and still providing amazing food, bar service, and cakes! Not to mention the popcorn bar which was wiped out by the end of the night! I've already referred a few friends to Janet for catering and cake, and will continue to do so!

Janet does not have a big web presence as other vendors do, so when we hired her to do the majority of our wedding, we were a little apprehensive because of the lack of reviews. Also because she was so significantly less expensive than other vendors. But she delivered in a HUGE way! She was great to work with in all aspects. Responsive, professional, and very kind. Most importantly, her food was AMAZING. Guests could not stop talking about it. We tried 3 other big name catering companies in OK before going to Okie Cookies, and we were both surprised to say that her food blew everyone else's out of the water. It was fresh, a lot of it grown on her farm, and so delicious. When you talk with her in the beginning, she will bring all the dishes directly to you rather than have you come to her. You can sample anything, and she is an amazing cook. She has a big team consisting of mostly her family, so she is very trustworthy as is her team. We had her handle all the catering, the flowers, the desserts, the ceremony, the venue set-up, and a lot of the minor details. We added things on at the last minute and she handled it with ease. We had extra guests RSVP at the very last minute and she was able to accommodate everyone smoothly. She had lots of good ideas and advice that were invaluable to our wedding. She has so much decor, tables, supplies at her disposal so you save so much by working with her and not having to go through with a middle man. 98% of everything we wanted was done to perfection : the other 2% was not very important, but honestly - the low cost of her services and ease of working with her more than makes up for the tiny details that were missing. Overall, I would recommend Janet and Okie Cookies for all wedding services. She is very trustworthy and delivers. If you like delicious food and not spending an exorbitant amount of money on your wedding, I would most definitely hire Okie Cookies!

We used Okie Cookies for our bar, food, linens, flowers, and some decor. Janet was super kind and helpful all throughout the wedding planning and wedding process, and everyone said the food tasted amazing. There were some hiccups - for some reason dinner was late, and one of the food stations we had didn't get put out. I'm not sure why it didn't get put out, but Janet ordered some pizza and set that out too to make sure people got fed. The pizza kind of fits our personality and our wedding vibe, and I think it probably looked intentional so it really was not a big deal to me, but it was not what we planned so I thought I would mention it. Although it was not 100 percent perfect, it was still an AMAZING deal and by far the most affordable option, so I have no real complaints and would feel comfortable recommending them!

May Wedding 2018

I wouldn’t reccomend. Janet was nice and friendly but I got a bad gut feeling about her from the beginning and I should have listened to it. I stayed with her and her team because the price was so much cheaper than any other place you could find for catering. The place they use to run the business is extremely unorganized, messy, and understaffed. The food that was suppposed to be out for cocktail hour wasn’t out on time and my wedding planner had to get it out for them and call them to be on time. The food wasn’t bad but it was cold and dry. The cash bar they provided I liked. Janet the main coordinator of it all never showed up to my wedding.

We used Janet for our wedding because she was referred by the venue we used and had met with her multiple times like 6 months prior to the wedding & all seemed great during the meetings. Well after you left the meetings, good luck getting in touch with her. She would very rarely reply to emails or texts and sent me multiple plan sheets for my wedding with numerous incorrect info on them. I had to send her 7 separate emails to get it all straightened out. She also runs her business with just her family and is very scattered on her planning/details. Well fast forward to our wedding rehearsal—it was AWFUL—Janet showed up and was basically yelling at our wedding party & had ZERO happy/helpful traits that day. But wait it gets worse. The day of the wedding she had to be called mutiple times because she had told us she would come set up at 10am and when 2pm rolls around she was not there. She finally answers and says she’s “right down the road”. During the wedding reception Janet snatches plates out of mutiple peoples hands because “she wanted them to be served” and she argued with our DJ about him being allowed to set up his equipment. And she provided the incorrect amount of alcohol we had purchased, which causes us to run out of it. All in all—absolute terrible experience. If I could do it again I would spend the extra money and go somewhere else. Food was cold & not food at all, zero personality and way to scattered brain.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend that anyone use Janet's services. I booked her to cater my wedding on August 18, 2017 and she delivered almost nothing that was promised to me. Initially I was very impressed by Janet's prices and everything she included (linens, staff, cake etc.). We tasted her homemade food and its was excellent. As it got closer to our wedding day I had a very difficult time getting a hold of Janet and she seemed to be very unorganized. I had to remind her several times of the details of our day (time of day, that our reception was at a different location than the ceremony, the number of guests attending etc.). But a couple of days before it seemed that we had everything straightened out. On the day of our wedding, Janet was supposed to arrive at our reception venue in the morning to set up. She did not arrive until 12:30pm after our reception had already started. That morning only two of her staff (she promised me about 10 staff..only 4 came and one was a minor) set up some of the tables with the help of the staff at the venue. The bar was not open and the cocktail hour foods were not out until after the entire wedding party arrived at the reception. My cake wasn't on the table till around 2pm, half way through the reception. Janet claimed she had a fire in her kitchen that morning and so she wasn't able to prepare the food homemade. She went to sams and bought food that she microwaved at the venue. She was incredibly unorganized and disoriented. My bridesmaids and my mom were in the kitchen helping her get the food out to the buffet (an hour late). The microwaved food was obviously horrible and not what we paid for. Additionally, Janet was supposed to provide my flowers for the tables. Not a single flower was on the tables for our reception. She also provided only 5 bridesmaids bouquets when I had 6 bridesmaids. A family friend had to go to trader joes at the last minute to get a makeshift bouquet for my maid of honor. Janet said she would have

50th Wedding Anniversary Party

June 2022
We began planning our 50th Anniversary Celebration early for our June 25th date. At my first meeting with Janet Wilhite owner of Okie Cookies Catering, LLC we discussed the fact she had a wedding that evening, but she assured me she had two very competent workers to work our event. I asked if that was going to be a problem and she said that all the food would be prepared before that evening and these two servers would have no problem with our event. Our event was from 6:30 until 11:00 pm. We chose the menu which included food, tea, water and ice. We talked about her providing tables and chairs, (which she did not), tablecloths, plates, napkins, silverware and centerpieces.

We were to deliver the alcohol, and soft drinks to the venue the day before but Janet came to my home instead and picked up these items as well as the final payment for the event. We again talked about the logistics of serving the food, drinks and time her staff would be there to set up.

She assured me there would be her best employees at our event to serve and bartend since she would not be present at the venue. Not Janet nor any of her staff came to the venue in advance to plan where they would be, crowd flow, etc. The two workers arrived at 5:40 to use the ovens at the venue and then left. Although it wasn’t part of the agreement, we provided 3 helpers to unload their car and bring loads of food, and containers into the house. Since their small SUV was not large enough to carry everything, they had to drive several blocks away for a second load. People began arriving about 6:15 and they had tubs and trays all over the counters. They brought no bottled water or ice.

As people were arriving, they were looking for something to drink because of the 100+ degree heat. The venue had some bottled water and allowed our guests to use. 7:03, house filled with people, the 2 servers were nowhere to be found and Janet did not answer any of my several calls inquiring what was going on since guests had begun to arrive and nothing was set up. Our beer and wine which Janet had picked up at our house was not there. It finally came at approximately 7:25, nearly a full hour after the guests arrived. The workers began topping the cake with decorations. Whichever one of the two staff members was to be the bartender was steps away from the bar area in the kitchen trying their best to get the food ready and out. Finally, the food was mostly out by about 7:45 and people began going thru the line. Still no iced tea or bottled water, the host venue brought in all they had in their garage. The host also brought extra ice from their freezer. Eventually another person arrived with ice which we had to unload ourselves.

Although the tablecloths had been placed on the tables earlier, at 8:45 pm the servers went to their car and brought the center pieces. In the area where the people were, there were no drinks, cups or ice at all. The bar was supposed to be up there with the guests - but when the servers arrived, they informed us that Janet had said they could not be outside… too hot, too dangerous. Even though, the bar area was in the shade, and all of the guests were sitting outside, and the band was playing outside. Bazaar.

Towards the end of the evening, Janet called one of the servers and asked if they were “making any tips”. The server replied they were not at the bar - and Janet insinuated that she was going to “check our liquor license” that we were not supposed to be serving alcohol even though it was Okie Cookies, LLC who we hired and paid to run the bar and have a bartender there. It seems she wasn’t that concerned that she had totally dropped the ball by not allowing her two staffers to arrive in time to prepare for our event but rather if tips were being made at the bar she was supposed to be handling.

Okie Cookies was totally unprepared, and Janet seemed to have no regard for our 50th wedding anniversary celebration. I was never contacted after this event to discuss any of the failed services or lack of commitment from her company.

So, if you’re having a Super Bowl party or card game and you need catering, but don’t really care if it’s on time or all you ordered is there, Okies Cookies may be fine. But if you have a wedding, anniversary, or any very special event, DO NOT USE JANET WILHITE AND OKIE COOKIES, LLC

I don't know what has changed since the better reviews have been written on this site. We had a family friend use Janet for their wedding last weekend, and it went horribly. She delivered on almost none of what was agreed on. Janet herself didn't even show up to the event. I was planning on booking Okie Cookies for my wedding in June, but after their experience and more recent reviews of the services, we are going with a different caterer. I highly recommend being skeptical of her services. She was incredibly difficult to communicate with, which made it impossible to make any changes to the planning sheets, even when what she sent was very far from what we discussed. Spend a little more and go somewhere else.
