Where do I even begin... From my very first conversation with Jessica, I knew this was the right fit for my wedding planner. A little over a year ago my then fiancée, myself and our parents traveled to Reno/ South Lake Tahoe to start wedding planning. We had spoken with OUATE on the phone, but this was our first time meeting. Cassie picked us up from the airport, and we had our first meeting to discuss our vision for our wedding. The next day we all went to Tahoe to look at venues and found our perfect location for the wedding. Over the next year, every communication we had with Cassie and Jessica only made us more confident that we had made the right choice. The package we purchased was full on destination planning and design as we live in Los Angeles. OUATE helped with everything from budget to vendor suggestions and contract negotiations to creating a design board (which we decided to change our initial idea half way through planning and they just rolled with it) to executing a flawless wedding plus much more. We only were able to come back once to Reno/Tahoe before the wedding and Cassie and Jessica packed our short weekend full of tastings, trials and final vendor meetings, we got so much done and felt so excited and accomplished after we left. I can't say enough how much gratitude and appreciation we have for Cassie, Jessica and the OUATE crew that made our wedding dreams come true. They took my vision and just exceeded every expectation. Friends and family were blown away saying it was one of the most beautiful weddings they had ever been to and I can honestly say that without OUATE, it couldn't have happened. They are now family and we love them so much! If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing. Best decision I made was hiring OUATE, hands down!!!Where do I even begin... Right when I met Jessica for the free consultation, I immediately liked her. She was professional, kind, personable and made you feel comfortable about the whole wedding plannning process. Jessica is very organized, detailed oriented and knowledgeable about everything wedding that she made the whole wedding planning thing seem easy! My fiance and I were so impressed after the initial consultation and knew we had to have her as our planner.
Right after we booked OUATE, my fiance and I had a meeting with Jessica and basically told her everything we wanted, what we didn't want and what we dreamed of having but didn't think we could afford. She also had us fill out a questionnaire to get a sense of our style, get to know us and get an idea of what we envision for our dream wedding. After reviewing everything we gave her, she created a design board with everthing we had talked about. I loved how we got to go thourgh and point out what we liked and what we didn't like. This gave us a great sense of what our wedding was going to look like. Since I had a very hard time picking a theme and staying with that direction, this really helped me get on track and focus on one thing at a time. This also really helped me stop stressing and feeling overwhelmed and let me enjoy the wedding planning process.
The day of the wedding, I had absolutley nothing to worry about. I sat in the house and got ready while Jessica, Cassie and her team set everything up and dealt with all the vendors. The wedding was not too big but the whole production of it was a lot! We had a ton of flowers, a fire pit, a dessert bar, photo booth, a lounge and a ton of details such a signage and personalized items. Jesssica and her team were so organized and executed everything PERFECTLY! It was above and beyond anything I had even imagined. They took my vision to the next level and made it better than I could had ever wished for. I do not know what I would have done without Jessica and her crew at Once Upon a Time Events. I had 2 ceremonies, starting at 5am until midnight, and did not have to worry about a thing! The day ran smoothly with no major mishaps. The decorations were beautiful! The team's creativity on how to blend 2 cultures with regard to the decor was amazing! The vender recommendations also saved ALOT of time and I was pleased with them all. I cannot thank the crew enough. You saved my sanity!I do not know what I would have done without Jessica and her crew at Once Upon a Time Events. We interviewed quite a few planners before deciding on Once Upon a Time Events - best decision! One reason we decided on OUaTE was because they charged a flat fee. We knew she wasn't going to push our budget to get more money out of us. Also, we could tell through our phone conversations and files that she sent us that Jessica (the owner) was very honest and fun. We only went out to Tahoe once before the wedding. They had photographer and venue meetings all set up for our whirl-wind of a weekend out there. I even got in a hair and make-up trial run. Everything else was decided via phone, email, and Skype. Jessica and her team really listened to our vision for the day and made it a dream come true. We are so glad we chose Once Upon a Time Events and would recommend them in a heart beat!

Top quality owner and staff. If there were ever any concerns about anything, each concern was addressed and resolved. Jessica Pete with Once Upon a Time Events planned my PERFECT winter wonderland wedding. Everything I had ever imagined for my wedding came to life and was so much better than I ever envisioned! I have received countless compliments on how beautiful my wedding and reception was and how they had never been to such an amazing event. During my first meeting with Jessica I told her that I wanted my wedding to look swanky, cool, sexy and romantic, and have that "platinum wedding" feel. She took those key words and made my dreams a reality. From the lighting, heaters and event tent, to the chair covers and the napkins and candles, Once Upon a Time Events had it handled. If there were ever any issues or problems with vendors I was not aware of it as Jessica took care of everything. I had the most stress-free wedding thanks to Once Upon a Time Events. Once Upon a Time Events did a great job setting up and making sure our wedding was beautiful. Additionally, having them there the day of ensured that the event ran smoothly, and allowed us to enjoy the day rather than focus on the details. I would highly recommend to any bride with a large wedding that she consider "day of" service at a minimum. It's worth every penny not to have to worry about the details on the wedding day. I really enjoyed working with Jessica, Meagan and Shawnte and would definitely work with them again! I needed a wedding planner for the destination wedding I had to plan since I moved away from my hometown. I got the platinum package that included all the service she provides. Overall, I'm glad I picked Jessica as my wedding planner.
Improvements need to be made by the vendor:
1. There were some times when I wished I got a faster response but that may be due to my personality. It would have been great if I got an updated email or phone call at least monthly. This is from the understanding that most of the time, it's the bride's first wedding and can get a bit overwhelmed. (In my case, I worked full-time with an extra perdiem job and didn't have much help from family.) They do provide with a timeline but a follow-up calls to make sure things are getting done on the bride part would be great. Maybe since she obtained extra personnel, this can be achieved.
2. The big picture/design ideas were great but I missed out on little things like designing of the invitation/place cards, program, etc
