The best venue ever
From the beginning my dream was to be married at Owera. From the beginning Jody was so responsive around setting a tour up. Then we had the pleasure of working with Bailey! She literally pulled the vision together and made everything perfect. She was so responsive along the way and made our day beyond PERFECT! She was at all the right places day off- and even saved my vail before walking down the aisle! The entire Owera team was so wonderful. This will be our forever favorite spot! -

From the moment we pulled into Owera's driveway, we knew it was meant to be! Every interaction, decision, and moment afterwards only confirmed that we made the right choice in our wedding venue. We will never stop being grateful for how incredible our coordinator Sarah was and how helpful every single staff member was on our wedding day and every day leading up to it. They helped us with all details, no matter how complex or simple and always made us feel supported and excited. We could not imagine having our wedding anywhere else, and we will forever be grateful for choosing Owera! -

We had the dream wedding that every couple hopes for. A mid-September wedding at Owera featured vineyards that were full and beautiful last weekend of summer type weather. The grounds and landscaping are nicely manicured and the venue itself is jaw-dropping.
Bailey was our venue provided wedding planner and did a great job at helping us navigate the many details that go into the big day, answering all of our questions over the months leading up.
We got married onsite and had a wonderful experience with the Catholic ceremony. We worked with the parish in Cazenovia and utilized their Deacon for the officiant.
Cocktail hour was outside and our guests raved about the selection of drinks that were available.
The reception followed inside the beautiful white tent and hosted all of our dinner and dancing needs. We chose Karen’s Catering (Aka Attilio’s) as our caterer. Owera is partnered with three caterers and requires that you go with one of their three.
Overall, we had an excellent experience at this venue and would highly recommend it to other couples in search of their dream wedding! -

The absoulute best wedding venue + staff
Our wedding at Owera was, without a doubt, the most perfect day. The seamless flow of the day, the stunning setting, and Sarah's expertise came together to create an unforgettable celebration. Our guests were in awe of the venue's beauty, and we received countless compliments about how smoothly the day ran. Sarah's attention to detail was impeccable, making the planning process stress-free and enjoyable. She was there every step of the way, offering advice and expert recommendations. She helped us create a timeline that ensured the day ran smoothly, and she coordinated with all our vendors flawlessly. We couldn't recommend Owera more! -

Everything about Owera was lovely! Our day was perfect, and both Sara and Bailey worked so hard to make sure we got everything we wanted, and that our wedding went off without any hiccups. We worked with Owera closely throughout our almost 2-year engagement, and while there were a couple of times when we had to work even closer on details to ensure that everything was 100% - I can not think of a better group of people to work with. They were flexible and understanding and truly detail-oriented ensuring that everything we envisioned and planned was delivered. The venue is absolutely beautiful, and if I could do everything all over again, I would still go to Owera. Bailey, Sara, and their team did a great job setting up our venue and listening to how we envisioned everything looking - that took so much stress off our plate knowing that we were in good hands and were getting exactly what we described and pictured. -

Engagement Date: November 25, 2020 (during covid)
Wedding Date: September 11, 2021 (during height of Delta surge)
My husband proposed the night before Thanksgiving, Nov 2020. We didn't want a really long engagement, but knew finding a venue for fall 2021 would be nearly impossible with so many 2020 weddings being rescheduled. We looked at four venues and Owera was the only place with a Saturday available (plus, I was going for a rustic + elegant vibe and the barns I saw were too rustic). From how well the grounds were kept to the professional staff to the vineyard/tent setting, it was everything we didn't know we were dreaming of!
And then, we actually planned and hosted the wedding. Jordan, our coordinator, was INCREDIBLE!! She walked me through timelines, shared checklists, and keep us apprised of all the changing covid guidelines. She was my partner in crime and recommended so many other vendors in the area, was transparent about who was easy to work with, and how to think about certain elements of the process (especially in the strange covid world). In late August, the Delta variant was running rampant and our guests were worried about how we were keeping everyone safe. NY hadn't instituted any restrictions at that point, but we decided to have everyone get tested - vaccinated or not - to ensure 130+ guests coming together was as safe as could be (we had plenty of guests decline our event due to not feeling comfortable, but many were able to make it).
Our wedding day was perfect, Jordan & the Owera team were outstanding (even when one of my bridesmaids got stung by a bee before the ceremony - they ran out to get benedryl cream!), and couldn't have imagined celebrating anywhere else. I am very type-A, but was incredibly calm leading up to the wedding - mostly because the Owera team is so terrific. HIGHLY recommend Owera for an upstate/central NY wedding, they take amazing care of each couple! -

My husband and I are extremely particular people. So much so that Owera was one of at least 13 venues we saw in central New York when we began planning our wedding in 2019 (a fact our officiant so kindly pointed out on our wedding day at Owera). The thoughtful attention to detail we both share made Owera a no brainer for our 10/10/2020 wedding date! Perfect venue, perfect team of event coordinator and staff, PERFECT EVERYTHING!!!!! Then COVID.
When the time came for us to ultimately decide to postpone our big day Jordan and the rest of the Owera team were extremely accommodating. They picked up our 10/10/2020 plans and put them down on 10/9/2021. We were so relieved after hearing all of the horror stories of what couples postponing went through that all of our vendors were truly accommodating, flexible and helpful when it came to this difficult decision.
Because life is weird and because we postponed we ended up accepting jobs in another state and moving in August of 2021 effectively making our commute to our own wedding in October 7 hours. We were stressed about moving, starting new jobs, the wedding we had spent two years planning, and everything in between. Jordan and the team at Owera made sure our day was exactly what we envisioned down to the string lights I pined over and requested way back in 2019. I couldn't have asked for a better venue.
The tent was perfect, even in October (I had been nervous it would be cold and it wasn't at all!) and actually helped a lot of our guests feel more comfortable due to COVID- the terrace served as a great outdoor space for people who felt more comfortable out doors. The venue was clean and stuck to regulations set by the county making us and our guests feel safe enough to relax and really enjoy ourselves!
Our "guest book" was Owera wine bottles at each table used as theh table numbers that we plan to drink on each corresponding wedding anniversary. When we cheers our glasses each year and sip our Owera wine we will think fondly of our day and we are so grateful. -
Denise Sent on 01/30/2018Dawn and her team were amazing! They made our special day so wonderful, they made our Autumn brunch reception one for the books! We didn't have to worry about any details, they took care of everything! The facility was extremely clean and inviting to all our guests, with beautiful scenery. Plenty of room so we didn't feel crowded, able to move around and enjoy our guests. Having the separate bar area from the tables allowed people to leisurely spill out from the tables to enjoy the patio while still being able to listen to the jazz quartet (John Spillett). The exceptional food provided by Julie's Catering was top notch, sending our guests for seconds and thirds! From the welcoming drinks after the outdoor ceremony to the wide selection at the bar was amazing! We have fabulous photos although the weddingwire web site is not allowing us to add them.

Jordan and her entire crew (Katie, Sam, and others!) were AMAZING! We cannot thank them enough for putting together a wedding weekend that we will never forget. They put together an itinerary and layout that fit our vision perfectly. They were extremely organized and detail oriented, allowing for everything to go off without a hitch. Because of their seamless work behind the scenes, we could enjoy every moment of the day without a worry.
Never once throughout the planning process or wedding day did we feel like "just another number/wedding." Jordan is extremely kind, friendly, and easy to work with -- she is truly a natural at her job! Everything was personalized, making our guests and us feel incredibly welcomed. Our guests raved about the venue, scenery, and overall ambiance.
Even though the weather was a little iffy throughout the weekend, Jordan helped us execute our outdoor ceremony beautifully. While it sprinkled as I walked down the aisle, she kept me calm, and her team quickly distributed umbrellas to our guests to make them comfortable.
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Owera to any family member or friend for their wedding. We loved every minute of our weekend! Thank you again! -

User1320789 Sent on 09/09/2013We had our reception at Owera (ceremony elsewhere) and could not have been more impressed with the venue! We are so glad that we went with Owera since we were set on using a winery in CNY. They have the best facilities and tent set up that we had found.
The staff were great and we did not need to interact with them too much as it ran smoothly. The cost was on the high side, but we saved our money elsewhere and thought it was worth it for the venue.
We aren't sure why there were only two reviews before this (and both of them are poor). But anyone that has been reading the news can see there is clearly a personal squabble between residents over Owera, so who knows who wrote them? -

I'm going to be as honest and objective as I can be. Take everything as you will because each experience is definitely different.
Pros: The venue is beautiful. Without a doubt each part is gorgeous and the weather thankfully held out to make our ceremony and reception fantastic. Even if it hadn't, they provide different back up options. They are a bit pricey but you are getting a lot, in my opinion, for your money. Coordinator, tables, chairs, linens, cleanup, all the things we really didn't want to have to think about, handling was taken care of. Each staff member we interacted with was kind and friendly.
Cons: Bees and Wasps. This is obviously not something the staff can necessarily control but its something to keep in mind if you have your event outside/with the tent open.
We felt that there was a bit of a disconnect from our coordinator towards the day of the wedding. Granted we are more on the laid-back side, but we were told certain things that didn't happen when they should have. I asked and confirmed repeatedly if our outside vendors would be contacted or if I would need to follow up on everything and I was told the coordinator would be reaching out to them at least a week before the wedding. The vendors were sent an email 2 days before the wedding after we pointed out that they hadn't heard anything. Originally we were told that the guest favors would be put out but that didn't happen, one of my guests noticed and did that for us. Thankfully my DJ came to me and my dad before the ceremony and explained to us when to walk because our coordinator signaled us to walk out way too early and we would have missed that really beautiful moment.
Now this was told to me by my wedding party: As everyone was lined up about to walk, our coordinator made a comment to another staff member that we were the only wedding that wasn't on time her entire season. We were maybe 5 minutes behind schedule, with ceremony at 11:30 and we walked at 11:35. Regardless, things happen but it felt rather unprofessional to make a comment like that in front my entire wedding party when obviously it wasn't intentional for us to be running behind.
When we went to pick up our decor that they had packed up for us, it wasn't until we returned home that we realized that one of our table numbers had been broken.
At the end of the day would we have Owera as our wedding venue again? Yes, without a doubt but I would have gone about things with different expectations. Even with those few cons, it was an amazing day that we will never forget.
