  Absolutely stunning!

  We reached out to Melissa after seeing all the beautiful work that she has done. We were on a budget and she was able to help us figure out use flowers that would make the most impact, and how to repurpose things from the cocktail hour/ceremony for the reception later. The flowers were absolutely STUNNING and it was so wonderful to see our vision come to life. My friend has worked with many florists and was also impressed by the quality of blooms that Melissa chose to include in the arrangements. She delivered the flowers to the hotel where we were getting ready and then got everything set up at our venue so we didn't have to worry about a thing! We cannot say enough good things, she is amazing and we highly recommend her!

  Melissa at Painted Rock was fantastic! We didn't know much about flowers, but knew that we wanted bold and bright colors, lots of whimsy and appropriate for our casual-but-classy Block Island setting. We had a large order, with over twenty centerpieces and and arbor, not to mention the bouquets, corsages, bouts, etc for the wedding party. Even with such a large number, Melissa kept everything under our budget, and was very easy to work and design with. She caught the vibe we wanted to have for the wedding, and was able to translate it into beautiful arrangements. Melissa really knocked it out of the park, and, weeks later, I'm still obsessed with the flowers!

  Melissa was an absolute delight to work with and planning my flowers with her was one of my favorite parts of my wedding planning experience. She is very passionate about what she does, very personable and easy to communicate with. Getting a picture of your vision comes naturally to her and she will go out of her way (literally!) to work with you and give you everything you want. The flowers she did for my wedding were breathtaking. My ceremony arch was beautiful, my bridesmaids loved their bouquets and random people were stopping us in the hotel to tell us how gorgeous the flowers were! In addition to going above and beyond for me and having a true artistic flair for flora, she was really just such a great person to get to work with. I am so, so happy I chose her as my florist!

  Melissa was incredible!! She worked with me to find a vision of what I wanted to my wedding day and did better than I could have ever imagined. She was always so quick to respond to my MANY questions and ideas and wouldn't just answer but would be engaged and give options and opinions on what it was I needed.

  I highly recommend Melissa if you're looking for a florist on Block Island. She was super responsive to all of my questions and offered great advice on what flowers were in season, which were more expensive because they had to be ordered in bulk, which would hold up in the August heat, and which flowers could give the same look and feel as a pricier flower that I may have been interested in. She's also wonderful at capturing the look and feel you want for your wedding based on vague words and phrases I gave her like "classy but casual" and "whimsical." She's big on sending you pictures of bouquets she thinks might match your aesthetic, which I found super helpful. She's also very conscious of your budget, which was very important to me. I also really appreciated all of the legwork she did before I even signed the contract. I know that some florists make you commit to them and pay a fee even before you get a chance to see what they can offer you in terms of price and whether your style jives with theirs. With Melissa, she will work with you first on your vision and budget and only then will you be asked whether you want to move ahead with a contract given what she has suggested. It put my mind at ease and I didn't feel pressured at all. Melissa's super nice.

  Melissa was fantastic to work with for my wedding flowers. She answered all of my emails/calls/texts very promptly, she worked with me for months to help create an amazing vision for my wedding day. I especially appreciated how she got to know exactly what I was looking for and found a way to create it WITHIN my budget. She delivered the flowers early on my wedding day with a big smile and even offered to help out with anything else I needed! She really went above and beyond and was an absolute pleasure. I highly recommend her to any bride looking for no drama with her her flowers/decor! No surprises, just great quality and professionalism! Thank you Melissa!

  I met Melissa, owner of Painted Rock Designs at a wedding expo on Block Island as I was just beginning my wedding planning (a year out) I knew immediately she would be perfect for my wedding and what I envisioned!! Through email exchanges, Pinterest ideas, etc, we shared ideas and crafted the unique and romantic look and feel I wanted for the wedding. Melissa has a beautiful eye for exotic, lush and gorgeous arrangements; she really made it so easy to work with her! Melissa really worked with my budget to go above and beyond my expectations with bridal and bridesmaid bouquets, corsages, many centerpieces, cake flowers, and a decorated arbor. She met me on Friday evening for the rehearsal dinner at the venue to walk thru what I wanted and it really put me at ease. She's so professional and knowledgable that it's really easy to be at ease with her. On the day of I was nervous and surrounded by an army of people but Melissa showed up early with everything and the bouquets took my breath away. It put everything together as I readied to walk down the aisle. The centerpieces were so original and gorgeous, and Melissa captured the unique element I wanted, using lush and exotic flowers and greenery and even wood elements with real birch vases - simply beautiful and rustic! Melissa was so patient with me and all my back and forth with ideas, budget changes, etc... As wedding costs spiral out of hand it gets stressful, but Melissa really assured me and working with my budget she delivered what far surpassed my expectations. And I would recommend her to any bride!! Thank you Melissa and Marc for beautifully accenting our special day and for your professionalism and just simple awesomeness!

Melissa turned these challenges into a floral design that was more beautiful than I could have imagined. I was first attracted to Melissa’s exquisite work and shining reputation from the Chamber of Commerce. She had the unique ability to listen to my ideas, and to help me capture them and make them even more beautiful. I couldn’t have envisioned more stunning flower arrangements or a more wonderful floral designer to work with. It was the highlight of my wedding. Whoever has the privilege to work with her is an incredibly lucky bride. She is a true artist and expert in her field.

  Working with Melissa was absolutely amazing. I was lucky enough to get referred to her after she did the flowers for my best friend’s wedding on Block Island (which were beautiful). From day one she was so easy to work with. I don’t know much about flowers, but did the usual pintrest flower board and printed out a bunch of ideas. Melissa had all of these great ideas and incorporated flowers and greens I didn’t even know existed. I had a really great time working with her over the 9 months of planning. She graciously answered all of my questions, there were a lot, and she was able to make all of our last minuet changes. There was not a detail left out, from the grooms boutonnieres to the girls bouquets, everything was perfect! Thank you so much for our beautiful flowers!!

  Mrs. Philip (Melissa) was such a pleasure to work with! Her imagination and creativity is incredible, not only with all of our boquets but in our venue room. It was spectacular and truly magical ;)

  It's nearly impossible for me to fully articulate what a great experience I had working with Melissa. Melissa was so incredibly attentive to me throughout the whole planning process. She was so invested in helping me achieve my vision for my wedding, even before I fully knew what I wanted. Once I decided on a vision, she spent so much time and effort working on how to perfect it. Not only did Melissa create the most STUNNING flowers I could have ever imagined, but she actually helped me put together the whole design- from the flowers, to candles, to vintage bird cages, to the vintage cake stand. The whole look of my wedding took my breath away. When I first saw my bridesmaids and my bouquet the morning of the wedding, I burst into tears because they were so beautiful. I actually walked around with my bouquet for days after the wedding because I didn't want to part with it.
  
  Aside from the aesthetic perfection of the wedding, Melissa was incredible to work with. Such a genuinely sweet person who loves what she does. We got married on Block Island and live in California. The distance could make things challenging and working with Melissa was so simple. She's a great communicator and really budget conscious. She will let you know exactly how any of your ideas will affect your budget and she will really work with you to achieve your vision with flowers that are in-season and more local, which will really help your budget if that's a consideration for you.
  
  Overall, I couldn't recommend her highly enough. She really made my wedding planning so much fun and I will forever be grateful for her help, expertise, enthusiasm, and friendship throughout the process.

We got married on Block Island and live in California. The distance could make things challenging and working with Melissa was so simple. She's a great communicator and really budget conscious. She will let you know exactly how any of your ideas will affect your budget and she will really work with you to achieve your vision with flowers that are in-season and more local, which will really help your budget if that's a consideration for you.
  
  Overall, I couldn't recommend her highly enough. She really made my wedding planning so much fun and I will forever be grateful for her help, expertise, enthusiasm, and friendship throughout the process.

  It was so wonderful working with Melissa. I was a bride-to-be that knew very little about wedding planning (and nothing about flowers!) Melissa worked with the ideas/themes/colors that I wanted to highlight and provided wonderful and creative suggestions. She also was kind enough to provide last minute requests. In addition to floral designs, Melissa was very helpful answering general questions and recommending other vendors, locations, etc. She is a wealth of knowledge and by far the most responsive vendor that I worked with on Block Island!

  We started wedding planning with a desired "look-and-feel" but very little flower knowledge specifically. Melissa gave us lots of inspiration and lots of ideas to choose from. The end result was absolutely beautiful: the arch, the center pieces, the bouquets, even the flowers on our wedding cake (or rather wedding brownies - we are a little unconventional).
  
  As a recent bride herself, she knows how strenuous planning can be and makes the process incredibly easy. Out of everything we had to coordinate, flowers were never a point of stress, rather something fun that we looked forward to working on.
  
  We highly recommend Melissa for any of your upcoming events!

She is extremely passionate about what she does and it comes through in her work. She becomes invested in the story that she is helping to create. She uses all of the details of the event bring to life the dreams and emotions wrapped up in a wedding day. She assisted me in bringing together so many details even beyond flowers including the use of fabric, texture, color, and theme to make my wedding day picture perfect and everything I could have imagined.
  Not only is Melissa's work inspiring, but she is also a joy to work with. She creates a relationship with her clients makes the process interactive. She let me be as involved as I wanted to be with all of the choices. She always gave me options to choose the direction I wanted the design to go. She was very informative and I learned so much working with her. I truly feel that she helped me tie together so many details of my wedding day through our conversations about my visions.
