  Hire her you won't regret it!

  One of the best decisions my husband and I could have made was hire Kathleen to capture our wedding. When we began looking for photographers, our priority was finding someone whose style was candid, as we didn’t want to feel posed or stiff throughout the day. And from our first conversation with Kathleen, we could tell through talking with her and viewing her work that she would be perfect for us! She is completely down to earth and friendly, and any question that we had was answered thoroughly to help us envision our day perfectly.
  
  Leading up to the wedding we had constant communication to make sure we created a timeline that worked for us and the schedule of our other vendors. Her wedding timeline questionnaire was especially helpful in helping us determine the most important moments we wanted captured! On the day of, outside of specific portraits we requested, it almost felt like she wasn’t even there, in a great way. We and our guests didn’t even realize she was taking photos throughout the evening which led to such fun and genuine photos. If there was anything she felt we might have wanted but didn’t capture yet, she took time to briefly pull us aside to make sure we got everything too.
  
  The wedding photos we got back from her were nothing short of beautifully perfect! We’ve been getting nonstop compliments from friends and family with how much they love the photos we’ve shared, and more importantly we can’t stop looking through the album and smiling. Thank you so much for going above and beyond Kathleen!!

  Incredibly Creative, Beautiful product!

  I hired Kathleen for a unique project - make a wedding video for us using home videos made by our friends and family 1 year prior! I had no idea what to expect, but since she is one of the most creative people I have ever met, she certainly did not disappoint! She created something so beautiful, poignant, and unique. It was more than what we could have ever imagined! On top of all this, she is so easy to work with, prompt, kind, funny, and thoughtful! HIGHLY RECOMMEND 100x OVER!

  Magical Wedding Photos

  Photography was extremely important to me and my husband. It was the third vendor we booked after our venue and catering. With all the money that would end up going into the wedding we knew we were willing to apportion a good amount of the budget toward photography so we would be better able to look back on the day after the fact.
  We discovered Kathleen between wedding websites and Instagram and there is no one else like her. We were instantly OBSESSED with her style. She captures an organic magic that most wedding photographers miss. We reached out to her immediately hoping she wasn’t already booked because we didn’t know if we would find another photographer we’d like half as much as her. She fortunately wasn’t so we booked her instantly. She is so professional while managing to be so easy to talk to. She gave us a personally curated photo workbook to better prepare for the day of the wedding including times of day to take photos, what kind of photos we wanted, etc. It was an amazing guide as to what to expect and how to get the best photos from the day. Every step of the way she worked with us on how to achieve everything we wanted in our wedding photography. She also has an AMAZING vendor recommendation list she provided us and we got at least half of our vendors from it.
  A few months before the wedding she sent us the most in-depth questionnaire I have ever seen. It not only included a timeline of who was going to be photographed where at what time, but questions about our relations to everyone in the photos as well as our personalities and what parts of the wedding were important to us to capture. We were already so happy with the examples of her work but the questionnaire really showed how seriously she takes what she does and put us so at ease.
  The day of the wedding she was ready to go before I was. She scouted out the area we wanted and chose her favorite places and angles to shoot. Even when we started running late for family portraits (our fault not hers) she stayed calm and strategically used every minute rounding up the next group while the current one got into place. She captured the whole day seamlessly. Our guests loved her and even approached her to take photos of them throughout the day. She was so good at blending into the crowd and candidly capturing moments that we didn’t even notice she was there half of the time. She went out of her way to follow up with us the next day and even thanked us! She truly is the best and we can’t wait to see our photos. I would recommend her to everyone and anyone. She is in a class of her own when it comes to wedding photography.

  So Happy!!!

  Working with Parenthesis Photography was a dream! We looked at a number of photographers in our search, but Parenthesis' portfolio impressed us. We loved how the shots managed to be candid, yet artfully composed. However, what really cinched the decision for us was our introductory phone call with Kathleen. She made us feel so at ease, it felt like we were talking to a good friend. My wife (then fiancee) and I have always felt un-photogenic and uncomfortable in front of a camera, and so we knew we had to go with this person with whom we felt comfortable. Throughout the process Kathleen was very kind, thoughtful and polite. Most of the time, we hardly knew she was taking pictures of us and when it was time for portraits, we never felt like we were posing. Both before and after the ceremony, all communication with her was great. When she sent us our photos we couldn't have been happier. She clearly worked very hard on our wedding and capturing our best moments. We'd recommend her to anyone looking for someone to not document their special day, but create works of art you can treasure for the rest of your lives. We are so glad we went with such a professional and wonderful person.

  The BEST Wedding Photos I Could Have Asked For

  I looked around for awhile to find the right photographer. I knew as soon as I saw Kathleen's page she would be perfect for us (especially because my husband is not a good "picture taker"). She is a true artist and was able to capture the most beautiful pictures of our day, both posed and candid. I have and will continue to recommend her to anyone I know getting married in the area. She's the best of the best!!

  Couldn't have asked for a better experience

  There are plenty of photographers out there to choose from, but if you want a personable and custom experience, Kathleen should be your choice. I've used Kathleen for two separate occasions and she "WOW'd" me with both! Not only is she quick to respond to phone calls or emails, she also wastes no time to give you your finished product for you to enjoy. Her style of shooting is so unique. It's refreshing to have someone with such a vision. Thank you for all you've done for us Kathleen. Our photos and albums are top notch. Lee and I made the best decision picking Parenthesis Photography to capture our wedding day.

We never had the pleasure of meeting Kathleen prior to our wedding day, but even so, she made us feel so comfortable and at ease, like we were old friends. Never once did we feel "staged" or set up. Kathleen would find an amazing location, and then somehow, with her quiet, sweet photo magic, make us feel like we weren't in front of a camera. Our wedding day came along with some hiccups and stressful moments, but Kathleen was always there, so kind and calm, to bring us back to the moment and remind us of why we were there, to celebrate. Booking Kathleen was one of the best decision we made for our wedding and I can't thank her enough for making our day one we will never forget. We know the photos are going to be amazing, joyful, personal and perfect! Thank you Kathleen, you're the bomb!

  Kathleen is incredible. We met through a mutual friend and after a nice sit-down over coffee we knew she was the one we wanted. The engagement shoot was gorgeous and only boosted our confidence in choosing her. Working with her during the wedding was a joy. We loved her artistic choices and, best of all, it was fun. We have seen the final product and could not be happier. Just truly gorgeous.

  I had a really unique and amazing experience with Kathleen. She was at a photography workshop (LOVE that the professionals we work with are always learning new skills), and my fiance and I were the "models". Out of the larger group of photographers, Kathleen was one of the most personable in person. She was SUPER attentive, kind, didn't put any pressure on us "model" novices, and gave great (but calming) direction. And I appreciated all of that. But then AFTER the shoot is when I fell in love with Kathleen even more. She posted a few of our photos on her Instagram page the day after the shoot and tagged me (LOVE the instant gratification), and then also privately messaged me to let me know more were coming my way. She then reached out a second time a few weeks later (after all of the editing was completed) and asked for my email to follow up with the remaining photos. She delivered the photos in 2 galleries: 1 hi res for our own printing purposes and 1 low res for social media purposes. And the photos? SO FREAKING GOOD. Kathleen clearly has an eye for angles and lighting, and the moody/deep/emotional way in which she captures the light made us look like the coolest, most hipster couple in all the lands. Spoiler: while the shoot was in Williamsburg, NYC - we're Jersey folk through and through. Kathleen was absolutely a pleasure to work with and she has talent in spades. Thanks for everything Kathleen!

  We hired Kathleen to photograph our wedding. From the first time we saw her website, we knew her style was what we wanted. We wanted our wedding photos to capture the spirit of the event rather than feeling posed. Kathleen more than delivered. We didn't think we could be so happy with every photo but we really are. She was great to communicate it, amazing at the event and so wonderful to deal with after. I cannot recommend her more. She is so creative, so easy to communicate with and really helped capture the spirit of our wedding. Than you Kathleen!!! We would rec. her 100%.

  That Kathleen is an extraordinary photographer, with a gift for capturing candid moments and arranging gorgeous compositions, can easily be seen from her portfolio. What you might not see is her knack for putting everyone at ease and her uncanny ability to move from one side of the room to the other without anyone noticing! Even under tight time constraints, she was calm and efficient, and my husband and I enjoyed every minute with her. My guests loved her too – and she accommodated them with the utmost grace.
  
  The consummate professional, Kathleen left nothing to chance. She took note of everything I wanted, and when I wasn’t sure what I wanted, she was ready with creative suggestions. From questionnaires to phone calls, Kathleen made sure that we were on the same page and she prepared for all contingencies by researching venues and their policies in advance – and all of this from a distance. I should add that she traveled 900 miles to my wedding, and navigated the city like a local!
  
  Beyond clear communication, Kathleen’s responses and results were swift. I still can’t believe how quickly she delivered our photographs! The pictures themselves were more than I could ever ask for. Kathleen is truly an artist, and you can see it in the beautiful, otherwise hidden details she documents, the mood she evokes, and the lovely, painterly quality of her work. My advice is, when you choose Kathleen, trust her. She is the kind of photographer who can find blooming flowers in late November for a magical first look, who can show you new sides to familiar places, who can do the impossible – let’s just say she managed to capture multiple pictures of my dad smiling, and I’m pretty sure he has a personal policy against smiling for the camera. Choosing Parenthesis Photography was, unequivocally, the best wedding-related decision I made…second to marrying my husband, of course!

  Kathleen's photography is amazing and gorgeous, and very unique as far as event photography goes, in my opinion. Please visit her website and look through ALL of her work. She captured so many amazing memories, mine and my guests'.
  
  Of all the vendors I worked with on my wedding, she was my favorite. Photography was the least stressful aspect of the entire thing, and for those of you just starting your planning journey, things get really stressful. Kathleen is quick to respond to any email or to schedule a phone conversation. We spoke and wrote, and she sent the contract. She confirmed when she received the contract in the mail, no guessing or waiting for your check to be cashed. She checked in at appropriate times throughout the process and was there to answer any weird question that popped up.
  
  On the day of the wedding she arrived early. She was in contact with my coordinator and my groom, and was quick to adapt to schedule changes. We ran a little late with make-up and that threw a wrench into our photography timeline. I live in the Bronx and had wanted to take some portraits on the subway between the church and the reception. Ultimately that didn't happen because of timing and weather, but Kathleen was able to capture the urban feel that I had wanted in ways that I didn't expect.
  
  Everyone who has seen our photos loves them. And some have commented how great Kathleen was by not getting in their way. In their words she, "was unobtrusive and didn't 'hijack' the wedding."
