    Wonderful food and service very professional

    I work in an office and we have had lunch and dinners catered for several weeks. We were all very pleased with the quality and quantity of delicious, hot food we were served. Patty's Catering did an exceptional job of presentation and professional set up and service in a very small space. I always refer Leslie and her staff to friends and family for their catering needs.

    Quality and great service

    From start to finish this caterer went over and above to make sure we had everything we needed for the perfect day. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Would highly recommend!

    Wedding reception

    I was referred by my best friend to patty’s catering for my wedding she only impressed with the prompt response to all of my questions but the private taste testing we attended. The caterer Leslie was very professional and helpful.we hired the service and will recommend patty’s catering service to everyone.

    Wedding Event

    I attended a event that was catered by this company. The food was amazing as well as service. Would definitely recommend this company to my friends and family!

    Leslie was wonderful to work with. She is the owner of the business and she takes the time to sit with you individually and figure out whats going to work for you, no bull. I liked that a lot. On the wedding day her staff was professional, and very organized. Some of the fried foods were very overdone and dry, however that is my only complaint. Our cake was delicious...so delicious in fact we had none left over...which was sad for me, but a compliment to her!

    On the day of our reception Patty's Catering was wonderful and served delicious food. Before the day though they were very rude and kept calling our venue rather than us to ask questions about what we wanted, then would snap at our venue for not being us.

    Unprofessional and overall disappointing experience

    It takes a lot for me to publish a negative review of a small business but given my recent experience with Patty's Catering, I feel this review is necessary to convey the facts of our experience and allow others to have a full perspective of what they might encounter with this caterer. We hired this caterer for a bereavement luncheon based on a direct recommendation of a friend of this owner, Leslie, thinking surely this would mean a positive and seamless experience. However, instead we found this experience to be the opposite.
    To start, when discussing the menu and logistics up front with Leslie we generally found her to be a bit rude and unorganized. She complained that we kept changing the menu/order with her. However, the changes we were making were limited to a single day and an hour window of time as we tried to finalize our own expectations of the guest count and what food should be served given the short notice and our lack of experience in hosting a luncheon of this nature. Unfortunately, this initial interaction was only a precursor of the experience to come with her staff and Leslie again after our event.
    During the event we experienced a long list of issues, which I'll summarize here:
    -The catering staff were supposed to arrive at our venue for setup per the contract at 9:30am; however, our venue hosts informed us that they didn't arrive until 11am
    -The catering staff didn't provide the disposable tablecloths for the serving station, instead our venue had to scramble to provide
    -The catering staff refused to allow our guests to have a mix of both meats offered in the buffet, which is a direct contradiction to the guidelines that Leslie confirmed should have been followed
    -Most appalling of all, the catering staff made themselves their own food plates, with their gloves still on, in front of our guests while everyone was still eating and guests were coming up for seconds and preceded to eat at the buffet table in front of everyone
    -We were informed by our venue hosts that the catering staff were complaining about members of the family to them and also did not serve all of the food that they brought to the venue, which was paid for based on an assumed head count
    -The catering staff never checked with us (the hosts) before breaking down the serving station to confirm we were ready for them to do so; further, they also started throwing away food that could have been saved and stored in the on-site refrigerator claiming that it was our responsibility to have told them we wanted to keep the food before they started disposing of it.
    -Lastly, the catering staff were overall highly unprofessional pulling several members of our family aside during the event in the main event space making negative and personal comments about specific family members and in general creating a scene that was very uncomfortable.
    Perhaps most disappointing aspect of the entire experience was when we conveyed the above facts to Leslie the next day we were met with a highly defensive and unprofessional attitude as opposed to a small business owner who wanted to make things right for us, given the bulk of the issues were a result of the staff selected for our event as opposed to the food itself. Given this experience with Leslie and her staff, I would highly caution anyone from hiring this caterer. There are numerous other caterers in St. Louis with great food who will treat your families professionally and with the respect and courtesy you deserve.

    I apologize for the fact that you were not happy with our service. I also know that during the death of a loved one, it is difficult and the family is forced to make several decisions rather quickly. I did rush to take your event because you were referred to us by a family friend.

    Upon our previous conversation I did tell you I would take your complaints to my staff and research everything you said, as I take this very seriously. I find it hard to believe that all of these things happed, I am located near 3 funeral homes and cater for several luncheons, memorial gatherings, and full service celebrations of life, and have had complements on all of our previous events. I apologize again for not making you happy, the question I asked you was how can I make you happy or content? And your answer to me was -" I want my money back". I explained to you previously that we provided the meal, the guest ate the meal, and complemented the caterers. We offered seconds - which you said we did not do, the caterers did leave the food from the buffet in foil pans for you at your request - even though it clearly states on the contract that we do not leave food behind due to food safety regulations. We are experienced at service and food safety. During the time of planning which admittedly was done in a rush due to time restrictions, there were several changes made at your request. The time frame of arrival also was adjusted due to the changes that were made and the difference in time needed to set up.
    During this time of planning I admittedly made a huge math error in your favor which was later caught and resubmitted which made you angry. And at this time you again changed your mind on the menu.
    Staff arrive at the location on a very rainy stormy day by 1030 and had the buffet set and ready to go when your guest arrived at 11:35. The lead at the venue wanted the table covered which was not noted on the contract that we would provide.
    The caterers did not make a plate of food as you stated. So at this time a agree to disagree with your review, however I now have even stricter regulation on my events and have reworded my contracts. Reviews are fine to write, and I have a few both good and bad in the past, mostly very good. I have been in this business for over 60 years. You stated to me: "I will write a review and warn everyone about your or you can give me money." I will apologize again and let you do what you need to do. I hope this makes you happy. When you write a bad review you hurt so many people.

    The food was absolutely delicious but this was one vendor who made it MORE stressful rather than less. On the day of the wedding there were multiple mistakes in the food prep and presentation, details kept changing about food delivery times. We had purchased food for 50 more people than were attending, just to be sure there was enough, but even so, they ran out of food.
    And ditto to what an earlier reviewer said - the staff was a bunch of underage unprofessional kids. When I asked one of them why the food wasn't being replenished she said, "It's gone - you guys ate a lot."

    I was not happy with this caterer at all. The food was ok but the lady serving was very rude to myself. and to top it off my cake topper was shattered at my reception and i was not told about it. I had to find it myself. I was not Happy with this caterer at all..

    Pattys catering catered my October wedding and I was extremely dissatisfied with their service. First, Leslie would send me constant emails months before the wedding in all caps demanding information which I didn't find particularly nice. During my reception, my husband was told he could not have both of the entrees, that he would have to wait til everyone else has gone through. However other guests were served both entrees. Then my wedding cake was not designed per my requests that was confirmed months prior. One of their servers threw a napkin on a candle and caught on fire- which one of my guests had to put it out. The bartender told us she was closing at 9:30 pm but would stay open til 10pm for an extra $25. I thought I had paid them to have the bar open longer but went ahead and have her the $25. The next day I checked my contact and I had paid them to be open til 10:30pm, not 9:30pm as the bartender had said. The food was good but at the end of the night we were told we couldn't take any of the extra food home. The food that I had already paid for because it was per head. The server told us that they would be donating it to a local food shelter. I just couldn't believe it. I had sent a long email to the owner and she didn't even address all my concerns and refunded me $50 for the cake issue and bar time mistake. Needless to say I won't be using this caterer again nor do I recommend them to anyone else.

    STAY CLEAR OF THIS WOMAN!!!!!! I cannot stress enough on how awful the food and service was from her. I am sure you want this day to be as special as possible and I can honestly say if you want a stress free day DO NOT hire this caterer. The staff was a bunch of underage unprofessional kids and Leslie did not even show up for this event to see what was going wrong.
