    We had been to quite a few DJs before we found Jack and his wife. We were really thrilled by how homey and friendly he was during our meetings, and were thrilled by his cheerfulness and professionalism. But let me just tell you, it had NOTHING on how amazing they were at the wedding. They knew how to read our nerdy crowd so perfectly, and got absolutely everyone dancing. EVERYONE. Even that one girl who is so shy and we were so worried about, she was dancing. I couldn't believe it! The party was absolutely hopping. This was amazing. We had so much fun. I overheard people saying they wished the two of us got married all the time, because it was such a great party. Everyone assumed Jack was our wedding scheduler, he took such great control over how things moved along, and he did such a great job keeping everything hopping.

    One other thing to note. I am a stressed out, Type A bride. I won't lie when I say there was one point where I was absolutely crying in front of Jack because I was so stressed out prior to the wedding. He was absolutely awesome. He took care of me and my husband and kept us feeling like a million bucks.

    Next time I have a big party, I'm going to find it in my budget to use this group, cause I know my party will be the best.

    Jack and his wife were incredible! They kept the dance floor full at all times! They went above and beyond and they were everything they said they would be and more! highly recommend them!

    Jack and his wife were prompt, professional, and found all of the obscure music on our playlist. He kept the party going and made our wedding reception amazing. He also saved the day by helping me out at the last minute, when I had to fire a DJ I had already hired. Jack was a pro. He has been doing this for a long time.

    Jack was amazing!!! My venue surprised me with paying for him! We only had a week to work with each other and he took time out of his personal time with family to meet with me! The wedding was perfect!!! He had pretty much everyone up and dancing! All the guest commented saying he was amazing! Looking back without him i am sure it wouldn't have been so perfect! My Husband and myself love JACK AND HIS WIFE!!

    We had a wonderful experience from start to finish!!! I loved the order of events for the evening he set up. Every guest knew what was coming up. He made the evening a personal experience for our family and our guests!!!

    We loved the service our DJ Jack provided. He had everyone up and dancing. Best reception ever!!! I have been to many wedding receptions over the years and this was the only one where the DJ got everyone up dancing! Amazing!!!

    Jack ,the DJ, had almost everyone up and dancing. We had a marvelous time at the reception and the dancing was the highlight of the party! He provided music that everyone could relate to and we all danced the night away :) Out of all the weddings I've been to over the past 30 years, this was the most fun because of PHD Sound Systems. I would highly recommend them to everyone! Thanks PHD Sound Systems!

    Did a great job in helping us plan. The day of service was great. They made sure the reception program ran smooth. We had a blast! I would recomend them.

    PHD Sound Systems was amazing! My husband, his mother and I enjoyed talking to him at our meetings and he was very helpful. He had a nice layout that made it easy for me to pick songs and to think of every thing I wanted for the reception. Which was great and worry free for me because I was not able to make it to one of the meetings but I knew things where in good hands. Jack and his wife was there at the reception to make sure things where on time and made sure we were doing okay. He even made us and our wedding party a plate of appetizers for when we got there. I will have to say he kept our guest on the dance floor and every one enjoyed him. We got so many complements about the DJ and how much fun every one had.

    My husband and I did not have that great of an experience with Jack. Ultimately, the wedding went well and I am sure no one thought poorly of him or his services. Behind the scenes it was difficult to get a hold of Jack prior to the wedding. He was not entirely responsive on emails, he said he had personal issues which is fine but I don't think that should interfere with the business side of things. During the wedding as soon as my husband and I sat down for the first time in three hours Jack came up and immediately started barraging us with questions, things that we had already gone over at our planning meetings so I felt it was unnecessary and I really was not happy about that. He did get people up on the floor dancing and having a good time. I was just generally not that happy with the experience and would not book with him again. He did cut us several breaks on pricing and he was flexible when we wanted to extend the reception 30 minutes.

    I was very sick for a few weeks and difficult to reach. In 28 years of working in this industry I have always been as responsive as possible to my Brides and Grooms. After the event the groom told me we did a good job. I hope you and your guest had fun. Sorry for not being as accessible as normal.

    We had won a voucher for 5 free hours of dj services from Jack by winning the nearlywed game per fabnet which was AMAZING!! We were definitely on a budget & appreciated very much he would offer such and awesome package (We did end up paying him for a 2nd set of equipment for our ceremony outside/an extra half hour for our reception + tip so he wasn't entirely free.) We met in person for paperwork & talk a bit about music. Unfortunately he was over an hour late to our first meeting due to scheduling issues, We forgave that because of course things happen. When he finally got there it was a super long meeting mostly of him talking his self up of all this DJ experience he has. He did give us some pretty good paperwork/guidelines to follow with music which helped a bunch with the planning process. Jack isnt very good with responding to emails but eventually got back to us about stuff we asked weeks later. We had another meeting to go over all the music we wanted, he gave us some advice & went over all of the names in our bridal party/parents.. He wrote all the names down phonetically so he could "understand" them. The day of the wedding comes around & Jack is there on time but literally was in the room asking me questions when I was getting my hair & makeup done which was frustrating me & beauty lady so she asked him to leave the room, We ended up going over things we had already talked about in previous meetings which was fine to double check but could you imagine how disappointed we were when we watched our wedding video & he said completely different names for 2 of our bridal party attendants while announcing them into the reception. He & his wife didn't look to happy to be there or active but they sounded good, played all the correct music & their equipment was nice. We had no bad feedback from our guests but I guess it was how he handled things leading up to the wedding & parts of his time with us that didn't sit right. Just room for improvement even after 28 yrs.

    At the end of the event, the groom told me he was happy with the job we did and they even gave us a monetary tip. To address the review, first off we gave an incredible deal to this couple. The first 5 hours of service was free and we didn't charge any travel fees to go all the way down to Martinsburg, WV. Yes, we did charge them for a second sound system and extra time that they added to the event beyond the free 4 hours. It was a minimal charge. We confirmed the program for their reception on the day before the event. We arrived at the venue early to set up. Upon getting set up. The venue coordinator told us that they needed the whole schedule rearranged. As a rule, we don't change a bride and groom’s reception programs without their permission. Thus the visit with the bride before the ceremony. Typically, we would not visit with them at the time unless there is a program change requested by another vendor. As for pronunciation, on the sheet we use to announce the bridal party we use phonetic spelling to reduce the risk of mispronouncing names. Sorry some names are quite different to pronounce. When you have been in the industry this long we have, you realize that you cannot always make everyone 100% happy. We do honestly try too. I am glad that the bride did say in her review that we, "sounded good, played all the correct music & our equipment was nice. They had no bad feedback from our guests". We always appreciate feedback and as a business we always strive to continue to improve our services.

    Disappointed

    My husband and I contracted PHD Sound System for our wedding. Jack is very nice and did a great job organizing with other vendors the day of and acting as an MC during the entire event. The entire day leading up to the dancing part of the reception was extremely smooth. I was highly disappointed with him after that point. He actively chose multiple songs not our play list that were very outdated and the dance floor cleared several times when de did not follow the direction we provided with the play list. The music also stopped at least twice mid song and they started the song from the very beginning. This was noticed by a lot of people which was brought up to me multiple times both during and after the wedding by our guests. I think what was the most upsetting is when he directly disregarded countless conversations about my husband and I not wanting to calling people out by name or forcing people to dance as well as our disinterest in FORCED group dances. Without warning Jack and his sons cut the music and shoved a microphone in front of us telling us to call people out by name for a group dance line. Again both during and after our wedding I heard multiple peoples distaste for how he handled himself and that specific situation. I later heard it caused confusion, irritation as he was extremely disruptive, and people knew it was not the type of people my husband and myself are so it reflected poorly on him.

    To summarize- Jack is a great MC and very helpful with coordinating and providing direction the day of. If your preferred musical taste for events is not modern music he would be a great choice as he seem to strictly gravitate toward older music. If you do not like to force people to dance and you are not a fan of line dances or group dance lines, I would not recommend him.
