Captured Our Day Perfectly
Amanda did such an amazing job - we could not be happier with our pictures. My husband and I are both a little awkward in front of the camera and she made us feel so comfortable. She managed to wrangle our families for the portraits quickly so we could get back to the party, and the candid shots were wonderful. -

Loved our experience w/Plume Photography!
We were referred to Plume Photography by a friend and we're so grateful we ended up working w/Amanda. She did both our engagement shoot and our wedding day photos. I knew after we received our engagement photo gallery back we had made the right choice. We took the photos at home this summer with our pup and they are some of my favorite images ever. Our wedding day photos ended up equally as beautiful. She was responsive, reliable and super enjoyable to be around - the perfect combo for anyone's big day. -

We cannot say enough good things about having Amanda as our wedding photographer. She is personable, easy to work with, talented and understanding. We chose to postpone our big wedding celebration to 2021, but still wanted to get married on our date in 2020 with a microwedding. With our microwedding taking place in a new city, we had to start from scratch to find a photographer. Luckily, we came across Plume Photography and could not have been happier.
Throughout the entire process, Amanda was so easy to work with and felt like our friend from the start. She totally understood our COVID concerns and suggested creative ways to take photos that allowed for social distancing with our wedding guests. She also dealt with my last minute freakout when I saw the weather for our wedding day and considered changing the date. Despite flooding her inbox with weather updates and potential changes, she remained calm, patient, supportive and understanding. Which is exactly what I needed.
Though it did end up raining during our ceremony, causing a few technical difficulties, Amanda remained upbeat and supportive, which definitely helped us stay at ease. Amanda rolled with the punches and seemed to find a solution for everything we encountered.
I will speak for my husband when I say that we are both camera shy (& never had the chance to do engagement photos), but Amanda made everything feel so natural and we had a great time! We both felt so comfortable with her.
After the wedding, Amanda shared our online album in a very timely manner. We were in awe with how the photos came out! They were absolutely beautiful and perfectly captured our big day.
Looking back at our wedding, I don't know how we could've had anyone else besides besides Amanda be our wedding photographer! We are so happy we found her and can't wait to work with her again.

Amazing photographer!
Amanda did a great job with our photographs! Her technique of shooting film and digitalizing creates an amazing effect and adds to the drama her photos create. She was extremely professional, had great attention to detail, and really assisted the wedding planner in making sure the day went smoothly. She captured our day perfectly! When we interviewed her we thought we were only looking for a photographer, but we also gained a friend!
Would highly recommend her to anyone looking for family portraits or for a full day event. -

A piece of advise I received when selecting a photographer was this: besides your new spouse, you'll be with your photographer your entire day, so choose someone you like as a person. Amanda is incredibly personal, while also being extremely professional, and her photos are amazing.
1 - Amanda's pictures speak for themselves. They are classic and timeless and effortless. She told me that her goal for her clients is, they're going back looking at pictures from that day, that they relive that day. That's true for me every time I look back at our photos.
2 - Amanda is all business in a great way. She has no problem wrangling dogs, children and in-laws for photos. I had complete trust she would get all the photos I wanted.
3 - Amanda's personality. I knew we had a lot in common anyway, but her personality and friendliness was great leading up to and during the wedding -- especially on the day of, when I was starting to get nervous a few hours before the wedding.
I'll definitely be working with Amanda in the future for other family photo ops. -

Working with Amanda was a joy! From the moment we got off our initial phone call, I knew I had made the right choice for a photographer. She was responsive and helpful leading up to our wedding, and so easy-going and efficient the day of. Our photos turned out BEAUTIFULLY. We would absolutely work with Amanda again and I recommend her wholeheartedly for weddings! She is great!!! -

So you're looking for a wedding photographer and have quickly realized not all photographers are created equal. Amanda of Plume Photography is truly the BEST photographer you can hire in the Washington, DC for your wedding, and I really, really mean that and I'll tell you why:
Your photographer is an odd hire because you don't too much time with them prior to the actual wedding day (in relation to say your planner or design folks) other than maybe an engagement session and a few other walk throughs and scoping sessions. However you spend THE MOST time with them on the actual day of the wedding, so you need to choose someone who has a personality you'll vibe with. Amanda is literally the most calming, grounding presence and my husband and I could NOT be happier that we went with her. As a couple who didn't want to spend hours taking pictures but wanted someone to capture the "feeling" of our day, Amanda immediately understood and was able to work with us to ensure our day was captured perfectly. Amanda is so talented that we will be using her for professional head shots, baby pics (if they ever happen ;)), family photos and any time I need a photographer from here on out in my life.
A few things I want to ensure I point out.
- Amanda shoots both film and digital, which gives your pictures the beautiful airy, bridal feel (think Abby Jiu). Some of my favorite pictures of the day are film.
- Amanda will highly recommend that you do an engagement session. My husband and I were DEAD against this when booking a photographer. Amanda convinced us it was a good idea and we couldn't have been happier we did. It gave us an opportunity to get to know her, feel comfortable in front of the camera and generally be less awkward.
- Amanda has a second shooter the big day and it's wonderful to get to have someone who is also well established on the second camera.
TLDR: I truly mean this when I say DO NOT PASS GO, DO NOT COLLECT $200, hire Amanda of Plume Photography NOW. -

Stunning and timeless!
Amanda's work speaks for itself and I am so happy we went with her! She captured every moment so beautifully and genuinely that you can feel the emotion in each photo. She was so great to work with and incredibly responsive. Being in front of the camera initially felt incredibly awkward, but Amanda made us feel so comfortable that we forgot she was even there sometimes. I also received so many compliments from both wedding guests and vendors alike about how much they loved working with her.
It's been 3 weeks since we received our photos and I can honestly say that my husband and I are still in awe of our photos because we loved each picture more than the last! -

One of us knew Amanda through mutual friends and immediately thought of her when it was time to get married. Her consultation was straightforward, clear and very helpful to imagine what our photos could be with our wedding and engagement session. She exhibited the utmost professionalism and was just plain fun to work with! She clearly knows what she's doing and was particularly helpful working with our families for the group shots after the wedding. We have a huge family so there were a lot of moving pieces and she gracefully and artfully navigated the process to make it seamless and painless, and that's not easy with family! We couldn't think of a better person to be part of our big day and hope that others work with her to have the same great experience we did. -
