  Warehouse Wedding Luncheon

  We chose to have our luncheon at Publik Space this incredible industrial warehouse space attached to the coffee shop. I worked with Mariah to reserve the space and from then on she coordinated with our caterer to have everything ready for when we arrived on our wedding day. My husband and I and all of our guests absolutely loved the space, it was perfect for long rows of farmhouse tables draped in greenery with cafe lights strung from the ceiling beams. I cannot imagine having our luncheon anywhere else. It was so perfect for us!

  Beautiful but terrible organization

  We used Publik as a venue for our wedding ceremony, dinner and reception. To book and plan, we worked with Casey Chase from a third party, which Publik commonly uses. Casey was great, and we went over the wedding schedule many times. We paid extra for services like transitioning the furniture and directional signs. On the day of, Publik provided only 2 employees to help with transitioning the space, which they assured us could be done in 15 minutes. They set up the space incorrectly, and did not set up the an archway we paid over $200 for. The air conditioning went out during the dinner and it was a while before they could get it working. They left all of the tables and chairs in the hallway, which is the only venue entrance. They promised our caterer kitchen space and then failed to deliver. The coffee shop employees were extremely rude to wedding guests. Overall, the space looked great but it is not worth the price or horrible organization. They kindly gave us some of our money back, but I sadly cannot recommend this space because of the poor coordination. It does not seem as though they are ready to host large scale events.

  My Wedding

  We used this space as a wedding venue. The place looks beautiful and is super great aesthetically but the people you work with are very difficult and condescending. It was almost impossible contacting the booking agent/event director of the space after we had already paid for the venue to confirm rental items promised until days before the event. We were also contracted to have in person meetings for planning, but this never happened since no one ever would get back to us. During the setup the booking agent, Ashlee, would give rude remarks and unsolicited “advice” adding that things we were doing were “tacky.” The venue was suppose to move the benches intended for seating for us but instead we had to ourselves. This wouldn’t be a problem except we found out day of that we had to do this. And while cleaning up, Ashlee harassed my wife saying we NEEDED to move the benches back to another event space ourselves. Through the entire wedding they didn’t have the heat on in the venue until the last hour. Overall I loved the venue but wish the people we worked with valued our experience as much as they valued our free labor and money.
