Photos that I’ll cherish forever!

Rach was so wonderful to work with & I would recommend her to any bride! After having a postponed wedding- I had even more time to get to know her & I couldn’t be more thankful I chose someone so kind and understanding. She was always there to chat during the most difficult days of Covid when I didn’t know if my original date was going to happen. She accommodated my new date even though she had a wedding the day before mine a little ways away. Having her stay a part of my day was one of my biggest priorities so I’m so thankful for her flexibility and support! My wedding day finally arrived and she did such a wonderful job throughout the whole day. She truly felt like a friend to me & she made the day run so smoothly. As a photographer myself the photos from my day were a huge priority. She made sure to get all the photos I hoped for & had great ideas for photo spots around the venue. A couple weeks after my wedding and we received the most BEAUTIFUL sneak peek gallery. She exceeded all of my expectations and truly blew me away. I teared up looking back at photos from our magical day- she captured it so beautifully. I couldn’t be happier we booked rach- we love her and are thankful for her talents!

Rach is personable & professional!

As someone who is “camera shy”, my now husband and I were so relieved when we first met Rach for our Engagement Photos. She made us feel so comfortable and is such a sweetheart! She was extremely patient and professional on the day of our wedding - all while still having fun. Rach is someone who feels like an old friend while she’s capturing some of your life’s most important and sentimental moments!

We loved working with both Rachael and Troy for our wedding last month. Rachael had previously captured our engagement and we knew we wanted to have her photograph our big day as soon as we saw how amazing her work was. The day of our wedding Rachael and Troy both made us feel so comfortable and like we were working with friends. Its also really cool to have a husband and wife team capturing the day you become husband and wife. Rachael seems to effortlessly be able capture the perfect shot and you'll forget Troy is even there capturing your day. I was not comfortable in front of the camera but after a few minutes Rachael made me feel not only comfortable but excited to take pictures. She and Troy both roll with the punches and are super accommodating to whatever request you might have. Rachael was even willing to work with my pug Bella for my bridals. I wouldn't dream of having another team capture our day and will be recommending her for years to come. I cannot say enough great things about them.

Rach Loves Troy is the BEST wife & husband team ever! They are incredibly attentive, very responsive and make that special day really flow. I can't wait to see the final pictures and video cause I know they have something beautiful coming. They made us, our family and friends feel at ease throughout the day and really captured some awesome moments.

So thankful that we had this awesome team with us on our special day! Would not have it any other way! They are the perfect balance of getting things done, but having fun as we did it. I would recommend this duo for anyone that is really looking for a great team to be around that day and someone that is looking to capture sweet moments in both photo and video. I look forward to hopefully having Rach Loves Troy capture future important family events!

Rach, Troy and Allie were an incredible team for our wedding! Rach is such a ray of sunshine, you just want her around on your big day - not to mention INSANELY talented. We even had guests comment on how ninja-like she was. She was all over our ceremony and reception, but never intrusive. The entire day felt natural, she was quick so we had plenty of time to enjoy the cocktail hour. We are so excited to see the final results!!

Rach is AMAZING! She is crucial to the out of town bride! She is readily available, she knows all the best vendors in town to assist with your wedding day needs, and she is a very talented and skilled photographer. She is caring and hilarious and she makes you feel comfortable expressing yourself in front of the camera. Her work is quality and classic! We truly believe that Rach Loves Troy Photography was the best wedding day decision we could have ever made!!!

I don't even know where to start! Rach is so freaking amazing. Not only is she the most awesome person you'll ever meet, her photos are GORGEOUS!! We live in Atalanta & Rach of course is in Savannah, but she is seriously our photographer for life. Hopefully she doesn't move to Alaska or anything because that would be a hell of a long flight. In all seriousness, she's one of a kind & your decision to have her as your photographer is the best one you could ever make! Thank you for everything, Rach! We absolutely adore you!

Rachael was the perfect photographer for our destination wedding in Hilton Head. Her style really captured the setting well (lots of Spanish moss-draped trees in our portraits!) and she and her second shooter were very easy to work with. She and her husband worked with us to make an engagement session happen in DC (our hometown), despite the distance. I would highly recommend Rachael and Troy to anyone!

We were lucky enough to meet Rachael by winning an engagement session with her. The stars definitely lined up with this one! Rach was amazing and our pictures are just breathtaking. She captured moments I didn't even notice, and did a wonderful job staying positive and upbeat when I was worried it was going to rain. We both really love that she uses film as well, you don't see that too often and we really love the result of those photos.

I wish I could give a higher rating for services hired for our wedding... as an out of town bride and groom we relied on our wedding coordinator to recommend vendors (as well as online reviews). Rachael was professional, courteous, and incredibly sweet in the beginning answering my emails, offering detailed package info, etc. When we realized that most Savannah based photographers are booked long in advance, Rach Loves Troy became a great and affordable option in terms of availability on our date and her working relationship with our coordinator and wedding venue. We booked and the process was progressing nicely until wedding season hit - she was impossible to reach. She did not return emails or phone calls. I would've loved to talk with her prior to our wedding but she absolutely ignored us. She even requested us to follow her on various social media accounts to see our images pop up once and while and NOTHING. Not a single thing however I saw countless future bride and grooms featured daily - to be honest it was quite hurtful that I never saw one thing about us. Aside from payment invoices I did not hear from Rachael until our wedding day. She never called; never emailed. She communicated briefly with our coordinator and that was it. I felt incredibly uneasy about the entire process and my stress level was beyond. She completely forgot about us. Was it because we didn't book the most expensive package or order a video? I'm still not sure to this day. She seemed distant and very "blah" about being a part of our day and everything seemed a bit thrown together in terms of photo settings and poses. I truly wish Rachael had taken the time to speak with me prior to our wedding day. We even had to request our own photos after the wedding - no follow up, no direction, nothing. I've realized that other weddings took priority for her which leaves me hurt and very unimpressed with her professionalism - as the client, it should be the complete opposite.

I was a bridesmaid in a wedding that Michelle shot this June. Today the bride received her sneak peek and called me in tears, and honestly, given Michelle’s attitude throughout the whole shoot I am not at all surprised. We all felt the shots of the wedding party were very brief. She provided minimal direction for us, which of course resulted in a bunch of photos of some people looking one way while others look the opposite direction, some people frowning, and some people with their eyes closed.
At one point, the bride said she wanted to take a few pictures with the wedding party on the stairs leading up to the chapel. Michelle snapped “No, I don’t want to do that”. The groom told her “We’re paying a ton of money for these photos, we’re doing a picture on the stairs if we want to.” She then rolled her eyes and took about 20 seconds worth of photos on the stairs. Everyone in the wedding party had been joking around and laughing before, and it killed the mood. Everyone was being cooperative, but she provided very little direction and when she DID, she snapped it at us. People were whispering to one another that we had to “be good” so she wouldn’t yell at us again.
The bride also said she didn’t want any photos of her and her new husband kissing under the veil. When she reiterated this during the photoshoot, Michelle snapped at her that she “needed to trust [her]”. The groom’s hair is also messed up in most of the photos, something that the photographer would typically catch and fix (but not in this case!)
I’m sure Racheal and Troy typically do great work, and this might’ve been a one-off situation. But this is also the couple’s wedding day, and instead of bending over backwards to accommodate any requests and giving her all, Michelle was surly and unprofessional, and it shows in the final photos.

Savannah Wedding

I wish I could give this company a better review because I genuinely liked the photographer we booked. We booked the associate photographer, Ale, who was wonderful. She went above and beyond for me on my wedding day.

However, all communication and release of photos had to go through Rach, who is the lead photographer of Rach Loves Troy. To be honest, Rach added tons of stress to my wedding. She showed a complete disregard for me and my wedding day and exhibited a total lack of professionalism. She was impossible to get a hold of and I had to email her at LEAST 2 but often 3 or 4 times before I could get a reply. I constantly felt ignored by her and like I was a burden to her. She delayed my process for sending both save the dates and invitations because I could not get my engagement pictures from her and she would not reply to my emails regarding a timing question that needed to be included on the invitation. She ignored my inquiries about the timeline I put together for the day of and did not forward the information to my actual photographer until 2 days before the wedding (when I had sent it more than 2 weeks in advanced asking for feedback on whether or not it looked feasible from a photography standpoint-- in which I never got a reply). After she had my deposit I never once felt like she cared even slightly about my wedding.

On two occasions I texted my photographer directly after Rachel ignored several of my emails. Rach finally emailed me back and told me I was not allowed to text my photographer anymore and that all issues had to go through her. I was baffled because I tried to contact her MANY TIMES and SHE NEVER ANSWERED. I was and still am totally flabbergasted by my entire experience with her. If she did not have the time for my business I would have easily and happily booked a different photographer.

I received my "sneak peek" 14 weeks after my wedding (I had to email several times to ask for it). I was both laughing and crying when I received it because I could not believe what was included. I assumed they were supposed to be some of the best photos that were taken. It included pictures with peoples' eyes closed, people not looking at cameras, people halfway cut out of photos, etc. It was very clear that she just threw anything together after realizing I had not a single photo from my wedding day after more than 3 months. Fast forward 2 more months and several unanswered emails, I finally received my wedding photos. It took until December (7 months after my wedding) to get a pin to download the album and there are still photos missing from it (all of the ones of my husband getting ready and who knows what else). I wanted to have an album to send with my husband on his deployment I was not able to.

Rach was my only vendor that never initiated contact with me prior to my wedding day. She was my only vendor who continually ignored my emails. She was my only vendor that truly added stress to my wedding day, the entire planning process, and even after.

I am highly disappointed that I booked with Rachlovestroy. Maybe she is more responsive for the clients she is personally photographing for, but after this experience I would never recommend her to any bride.

Go Elsewhere

Honestly I don’t know where to start and I have wanted to withhold saying anything, as my mother has always said if you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say anything at all, but here I am after months of biting my tongue, I feel the need to make sure all future consumers and brides are aware of what they are purchasing. Anyways, I am so beyond disappointed with the photography and more so videography service from Rachael and her team. First off, beware of timeframe with this crew. They think it’s appropriate to take 6 months for a bride and groom to receive they’re full wedding album, as well as 8 months for a 3 minute highlight video reel, and 10 months for a full 9 minute video reel. Which I’ve spoken to several if not more than multiple photographers and professional videographers and have been told how ridiculous and uncalled for that timeframe is. When you ask for updates through emails regarding said services (photos/videos) expect to then either be ignored or provided some bogus excuse about why items are not completed. In regards to pictures, whatever they are fine, but this was my wedding day. The quality of your wedding photos should not be “just fine.” Anyways, the main concerns with photos was that the variety was sub par with not many pictures of family (I have one picture with the grooms family, one picture with my family), zero of my loved ones, and absolutely zero of my friends, and little to “no” action shots of dancing, but whatever I’ll get over. Now the videos. No. Absolutely not. Do your research and higher a legitimate videographer, my “extended” video reel was 5 minutes of our vows talking with the camera in ONE POSITION with also horrible audio and the other 5 minutes was from our first dances with the camera point of view in one position. Not one camera change, no legitimate edits, minimal transitions were noted during our wedding (as I noticed while we were dancing - the camera stayed on a stand in the corner in one position the whole time), which was very much projected within the final product of video we received. The quality was so underwhelming and disappointing- that I now have no desire to ever “watch back and relive” my wedding ever again. My family could have done a better job video taping my wedding. Anyways, brides in the South Carolina area (especially Charleston- a huge wedding destination) there are thousands of other highly more professional and highly more exceptional photographers and videographers. Do your research. This is your big day and you deserve absolutely everything and more especially when it’s come back to the moments (aka photos/videos) of you reliving your special day! Go for the best and nothing less.
