    Exceptional Planning and Coordination Services

    Rachael did an exceptional job helping my daughter and me completely RE-plan my daughter's wedding in less than two months after our original plan was not feasible due to Covid restrictions. Rachael provided excellent guidance throughout the process and coordinated with all vendors to ensure that the event was executed flawlessly. I highly recommend Rachael McKenzie Events.

    Couldn’t have done it without her!

    I cannot say enough good things about Rachael and RME! We hired her for month of coordination but were able to connect with her early on so she had an idea of what we were looking to do and gave us many planning tools to use in the time leading up to our wedding. She was an even greater help when COVID hit and at 65 days out we had to make a venue change which required us to bring in additional vendors. She helped us navigate that process and made the time leading up to the big day much less stressful. She also never missed a beat on wedding day and it was perfect. I would have another wedding just to be able to work with her again!

    Could not have done it without her!

    Rachael was awesome! Our wedding would not have gone nearly as smoothly without her. She did a great job helping us plan, keeping us on track the day-of, and coordinating with our other vendors. She was extremely helpful and professional. We highly recommend working with Rachael!

    Could Not Be Happier

    Everyone commented about how the day went off without a hitch and that was definitely in large part because of Rachael. She was so helpful finalizing all the details with my vendors, ran the rehearsal so well (despite having to deal with a large wedding party) and made sure everything was taken care of on our wedding day. She was worth every penny and more!

    An above & beyond coordinator!!!

    Rachael was absolutely phenomenal as our wedding coordinator!! Not only did she help us coordinate and plan a beautiful wedding day, but she did it TWICE. Our original wedding date was unfortunately scheduled for the arrival of a hurricane, causing us to postpone the entirety of our day. Without Rachael as our coordinator, I honestly believe our wedding would have ended up being cancelled altogether. Within hours of learning the urgency of the storm and needing to make a fast plans, Rachael immediately stepped in, coordinated with all vendors, and presented me with a nice little list of options - all I had to do was choose. Her thoroughness and efficiency were PRICELESS as she made a potentially very stressful time, really quite easy. Honestly, I think every bride needs someone like Rachael on their side as they prepare for their wedding day. It certainty made our day as smooth, stress free, and beautiful as we imagined!

    My wife and I can honestly say that our wedding day was hassle and stress free in large part due to the work that Rachael did coordinating and preparing our vendors while keeping us fully involved in the planning process. We are planners by nature and we never felt over burdened by Rachael's requests and found her to be incredibly organized.

    Outside of knocking the logistical aspects of our wedding out of the park, Rachael's kind and caring demeanor made her a joy to work with. This was on full display when we had a loss in our family leading up to the wedding. Rachael went to work making sure he was honored and remembered while handling the uncomfortable logistical components of something like this. It's a sad example but when things like this happen, you want someone like Rachael there to make sure the biggest or smallest thing that comes up is handled with ease and class.

    We've recommended Rachael to all of our friends that are planning weddings; she really crushed it for us and can't say enough great things about working with her. I wish we could giver her more than 5 stars! - Matt & Maggie Richard

    We hired Rachael as our month-of coordinator for our wedding in April 2018 in Charlottesville. She went above and beyond in pretty much every way. In the months leading up to the big day she was happy to give us great recommendations for vendors (who we ended up hiring and loved!) that accounted both for our taste and budget, and to answer our other anxious questions ... like, should we really DIY this? or rent that?

    When it came a month out, it was super easy to communicate our plans and vision to her -- 1) by copying info from our own docs and spreadsheets to her templates, 2) by talking over the phone, texting, or Google chat, and 3) walking through our venue in person. She did an amazing job taking over communication with our vendors, especially in light of needing to enact our bad-weather plans when a freak snow day hit our April wedding. She nailed the Plan B logistics. Not to mention that she aesthetically made our rustic venue look absolutely beautiful, using a combination of rented and owned decor (some of it admittedly... quirky). And, maybe most importantly, knowing that we had a dependable coordinator let us actually enjoy our wedding, reception, and afterparty because Rachael had all of the moving parts under control.

    On an interpersonal level, she was always very professional, easy to contact and prompt to respond, and extremely organized, while also being accommodating to changes in plans. Near the date, the proactively identified problems and found solutions, while always being mindful to put our plans and vision first. From beginning to end, Rachael was awesome and we would 100% hire her all over again!!

    Rachael was absolutely amazing to work with! She made the month leading up to the wedding much easier! I was so impressed with her professionalism, organization, and responsiveness. I was so grateful for her passion, heart and expertise in seeing the details come together for our wedding. It is apparent that she treats her client's weddings as if they were her own! With Rachael's help, we instead were able to focus on our future marriage together, which was an incredible blessing. I would recommend Rachael to anyone!

    Rachael did an AMAZING job with our wedding! We knew we wanted someone to help execute our wedding day so that we didn't have to worry about anything, and Rachael was perfect. I had the most relaxing wedding day, and Rachael worked tirelessly to make the wedding exactly as we wanted it! I did not worry about a thing - when we showed up to our venue, she saw my vision even better than I did! I was so grateful to have her during that final month of planning - she helped me remember last-minute details, and also made sure that every detail was exactly the way I wanted. She was organized, and always on top of things - contacting my vendors, checking in with me regularly, or just calming my wedding day nerves! She was by far one of our greatest wedding investments. She really went above and beyond to make our wedding perfect.

    I cannot say enough about how valuable Rachael was on our wedding day and throughout the entire wedding planning process. Planning a wedding on your own is exciting at first, but we soon realized we were in over our heads. There were so many details and coordinating between vendors that we did not anticipate and simply did not have the time for. We felt as if our wedding had become a second job. Once Rachael entered the picture, we were back on track. From then on, our wedding planning process was a breeze. She takes the time to truly get to know you and your style and vision for your wedding day. During the walk-through of our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception site she offered up so many great ideas to help out with the flow of our wedding that I would not have thought of on my own, while still keeping our opinions and vision at the forefront. Rachael kept everything nicely organized in one place accessible to everyone, which gave us peace of mind that everything that needed to be done had been checked off. She was in constant contact with all of our vendors early on to ensure that everyone was on the same page. Above all, we had a stress free wedding day that went off without a hitch. She took care of spreading out our DIY wedding decor and flowers (a huge feat) and helped make our day look and feel like a fairytale. We are now a month out from our wedding and when my husband and I reflect back on it we still talk about how glad we were to have Rachael there on our big day.

    When I first began planning my wedding I thought I could to everything myself. I didn't realize how stressful the task of putting it all together for the big day would actually become and I quickly realized that I needed help from someone else that I could feel completely comfortable and confident in to make my ideal wedding come to life. That's when I met and spoke to Rachael! From the get-go I felt completely at ease and comfortable chatting with her and getting a feel of how she works. She was so well organized and always on top of everything. During the planning process she thought of so many things I never even thought of and gave me a lot of helpful advice. If I didn't have her helping me out as my coordinator I know I would not have been nearly as relaxed and happy as I was on my wedding day (I would have been out of my mind miserable haha). I could not imagine having anyone else helping me or what it would be like to not have her help and guidance leading up to the big day. We couldn't have been happier with her work and would hands down recommend her to anyone else looking for a coordinator!

    Hiring Rachael as our wedding coordinator was the best decision we made when planning our wedding. Her expertise and organizational skills helped to calm my bride-to-be nerves. She helped us with planning the little details the month of our wedding including the timeline of our wedding day, creating a schedule for the transportation for guests, and doing all of the "behind the scenes" legwork the day of the wedding. Rachael's availability to talk and email whenever I needed was a complete blessing. She also did a walk though prior to our wedding to make sure we had thought of every little decision that needed to be made.

    I was able to relax and enjoy my wedding day and ceremony knowing that Rachael was on-site making sure every detail was in place for our outdoor reception, which took place about 2 hours after a crazy summer rainstorm. When anything went wrong, Rachael was there to meticulously fix it and keep going throughout our day. Our wedding venue loved Rachael as well and added her to their Preferred Vendors list before the wedding even took place! I can't say enough good things about hiring Rachael!

    I used Rachael as my Wedding Rehearsal and Day-of Wedding Coordinator. We
    found Rachael through a friend who had previously used her at their own
    wedding and highly recommended using her due to her involvement in the
    process and her communication with all vendors hired.

    Rachael is a very well qualified wedding coordinator. She is extremely
    involved in the whole process and made sure to make my wedding day the best
    day ever. She is extremely organized and made sure everyone was on the same
    page. Rachael had diagrams, side-notes, Exel pages and more to make sure she
    knew exactly what I wanted. She was constantly in-touch with me via text, phone
    calls and even emails. Rachael got along with all vendors and has such a great
    bubbly attitude and I think it is important to have a personality like hers to make a
    great wedding coordinator.

    I am recommending Rachael to all families out there planning a wedding.
    She is just the person you need to get all those last minute details put together
    and to make your big day stress free and for making your venue look absolutely
    beautiful, inside and out!

    Rachael was a dream come true when it came to planning my wedding! I live on the west coast, so I was overwhelmed with the idea of planning a Virginia wedding from the opposite side of the country. But Rachael eased all of my concerns and was able to make site visits and connect with vendors on my behalf. She literally thought of everything and paid attention to every detail. I highly recommend hiring Rachael to help make your day unforgettable!

    I'm a bride from Charlotte, NC, but knew I wanted those rolling blue ridge mountains on my wedding day. Planning a wedding from 4 hours away isn't easy, but Rachel was the best person I could have chosen to help me make my day perfect! Rachel and I spoke approximately 3 times on the phone within the 9 month time frame of my wedding planning so I could provide her details and updates of all aspects of my vendors. We also met two or three times in person - the last time being when I was in town about 5 days before my wedding. It was at this time that I provided her with spreadsheets of all details of my wedding in re: to decor placement, seating arrangements, daily timeline, etc. She was amazing at highlighting details, asking questions about areas that I would not have even thought of, and really helped my vision come together. At time she planned my wedding, she was also employed in another position so had limitations on her ability to respond during those work hours - but went above and beyond to make sure we had detailed communication in a timely manner and I never had any issues with our communication. She understood my vision 100%! She was great at lending ideas and also accepting what I envisioned and making it come to life. I gave her extreme about of detail about which lanterns went with other lanterns, etc - and she made it come to life! With regard to working with other vendors, she was very respectful to the church coordinator who came as part of me using the church I did in Charlottesville. Rachael checked in with me to make sure I was comfortable with everything as a whole. She would have been an advocate for me if I had wanted anything changed from the church coordinator. She is extremely organized, has a genuine love for making your wedding day perfection, is respectful and polished with communication with both myself, family and vendors, and is detail oriented. I can easily see her molding to whatever type of bride she's working with!

    Rachael is without a doubt the only reason that our wedding weekend went smoothly. Technically she was our day-of coordinator, though realistically she was a crucial help to us for months leading up to the wedding. Her creativity, organization skills, responsiveness and overall wedding-expertise helped make our big day stress-free and an amazing event for our 150+ guests. I was originally a firm believer that I didn't need any wedding planning assistance, but I quickly found that I was in over my head trying to understand all of the little details and the specific flow of the day. It was unbelievably helpful to have Rachael to run to with questions whenever they came up, and it was great to always have a quick and helpful response from her. We were so thankful to work with Rachael, and I encourage anyone else going through the chaos that is wedding planning to consider utilizing her skills and knowledge to ease your stress.
