We had Tia Rosa's food truck come out to Saguaro Lake for our reception. They did a wonderful job. We have always went to the restaurant for date nights so having them at our rehearsal dinner for our wedding was special. We loved the food and the atmosphere it created for that night.

Our wedding was very small and intimate. We didn't need a full scale reception but wanted a restaurant with delicious food, a charming atmosphere, a small room for the family to gather and close to the location. Rancho de Tia Rosa, met that and more. Clay, the manager, was so accommodating and did everything he could to make our day special. He gave us a variety of options to choose from, helped us settle on a set menu for our guests, provided us with a beautiful room and even brought in sparkling cider for our toast. The staff was extremely, helpful, friendly and provided amazing service. So glad we chose Rancho, it was perfect for our special day.

It was difficult to catch the caterer on the phone but we did not regret it. Food and service was fantastic!

First I have to say that our reception was truly beautiful, and exactly what we'd hoped for in regard to atmosphere and decor. Our day-of coordinator (Helen Van Hamme) pulled everything together in a truly magical way. For our guests the evening went off without a hitch... this is entirely thanks to Helen and her efforts to keep the conflict with the restaurant separate from our event.

Our problems came from a change in management, a poor contract, lack of communication, and 'hidden policies' that resulted in my dad having a one-on-one conversation with the restaurant owner at the end of our reception, who forced us to purchase eleven old, obviously well-used tables clothes because candle wax had dripped on them. Personally, isn't that what the clothes are for? They were fully aware of our centerpieces and decorations, and NEVER told us that candle wax would (in their opinion) ruin the table clothes. This additional $275 "tax" at the end of the night was shocking, unprofessional, and frankly, rude! Their single page "contract" doesn’t define what they consider “damage”, leaving an open door for the restaurant to collect extra money at the end of the night.

Beyond the table clothes, our contract guaranteed three servers, and we were only given two. The salad ordered for our buffet wasn’t delivered until after everyone had gone through the line. They served refried beans instead of charro beans. And finally, it took 45 minutes to get the first round of drinks delivered.

We enjoyed our guests and the beautiful setting enough that were able to overlook these negative aspects of our reception, but are still in shock that after failing their contract in so many ways, the owner would force us to purchase table clothes… their approach to business has left a bitter taste in my mouth! I wish that the management of this establishment had taken into account lasting memories and the power of referrals before executing our event in such an unprofessional manner!
