Erin and Alyssa were rock stars!

Erin and her assistant arrived on time and ready to rock(even when we were not). They got all of the shots we wanted and we cannot wait to see all of our photos which will be ready within 3-4 weeks from our wedding date. They had some teaser photos set up in the reception and online on the day of. I have never seen this done at a wedding and LOVED it! They knew just how to direct us for the perfect photos and made our day look even more magical than it was!(a tough task) They even let us have a special "smoke and champange" session after the ceremony with our bridal party, customizing our day to perfection!

Ray of Sunshine on a Cloudy Day

My daughter got married this past weekend 5/4/19 and the weather was iffy for most of the day. Erin and Amanda used the weather to their advantage and the outcome was brilliant. I highly recommend Ray of Sunshine Photography. I can’t wait to see all the photos!

Erin is a great photographer! Her ability to capture candid moments throughout the day and set-up creative shots for your details (flowers, rings, stationery) really shows in the pictures of our wedding. She captured a lot of moments we didn’t even notice until we saw the photos after the wedding. She also did a wonderful job of organizing our large extended family for all of the various formal family portraits we wanted before the ceremony. Erin also has an eye for setting up really beautiful night time shots with special lighting equipment. In addition to the photos, she was very easy to work with. For the engagement shoot, the wedding portraits, and the candid wedding shots, she provided us just the right amount of direction to set up shots while mostly just letting us be ourselves.

Erin took photos of our parents' anniversary. She captured some great shots. She had a pleasant presence at the party. Very talented! And she was so patient and flexible even though we had to make plans last minute to see if the weather would cooperate. She is very good at what she does. I highly recommend. Thank you!

I regret choosing Ray of Sunshine Photography

I regret choosing Ray of Sunshine photography for several reasons, especially the important photos that they missed. They did not photograph my husband’s face when he first saw me. There are no photos of more than half of my guests. The majority of my photos were spent following around THREE of my guests (there was a total of 130+). 4/10 photos of dinner were of a praying mantis; not of my guests or us.

I said on several occasions that I wanted candid photos and that I was not interested in posed/run-of-the mill photos. After the engagement photo session, I told them I was disappointed in how posed they were and that I did not want this style for my wedding, to please take candid photos. RoS did not change this for my wedding. I told the photographer to not miss the shot at the end of our first dance when we had confetti, but they chose to take most of the photos from up above so I did not get the photo I requested. I also did not get any close-up photos of my husband and me dancing which I think is fairly typical.

The second reason I regret choosing RoS are the discrepancies with their album pricing. I had paid to upgrade my album from an 8x8 to a 10x10 and I paid $275 to do this, which I got back when I forfeited my album. However, considering their standard 8x8 album is $300 and their standard 10x10 album is $400 this does not make any sense. If their base 10x10 (20 page) album is valued at $400, but an additional 22 pages are $1100 – something doesn’t seem right to me as paying for two 10x10 albums would be cheaper than getting these as additional pages. As per the album upgrade email I received, it would be $30 per additional page (this is after I had signed up for the 10x10). I had 22 additional pages that I wanted for my album, but the price I was quoted was way over this ($1100 not $720). Even factoring in taxes I can’t get any of this to add up.

Additionally, the email sent out about the photo booth said “unlimited use during reception”; however, this is a lie. There were no clauses when I signed up for it that stated it was only for the duration of my photo package. I found this out three days before my wedding, but at that point I could do nothing to change it.

At the end of this, I had no interest in giving this company more money to make me an album when I was already unhappy with my photos. I elected to forfeit my album but I was not reimbursed as the $300 album cost. This does not make sense to me considering they are not giving albums out for free - the package fee already paid for her time to design the album. The only resolution RoS suggested was cutting the cost of the album I did want in half (still $550). Nothing for the missed photos, the time difference between the photo booth or the album fee.
