Most helpful, kind and friendly venue

It was meant to be.. I would go to the Renaissance for Illy coffee , when I got engaged, the first place I looked was at this hotel. It was out of of my budget and months down, I received an email from Rossana. She was simply the best… I am so thankful to talk to her and she made our dreams come true. Then we worked with Deaven Taylor, who is so nice and easy to work with. I might have driven her crazy but she made sure everything happened correctly. I’m still in awe how well the hotel worked with the vendors. Thank you to the Renaissance team for an amazing wedding weekend!!!

We walked into the Renaissance and immediately fell in love with the venue. Andrea and her staff were so accommodating and helpful. Our guests still talk about their impeccable service.

They gave us the presidential suite (with a spectacular view) for two nights. And anything we needed was done right away. I highly recommend Andrea Murphy and the entire staff at the Renaissance.

We LOVED working with the Renaissance and so appreciate everything that was done to make our wedding celebration absolutely amazing. I think we knew as soon as we walked in that we wanted to have our wedding at the Renaissance. If you're looking for a modern venue, this hotel is just gorgeous. If you're looking for a venue that will de-stress the planning process, the Renaissance is so easy, with perfect packages to choose from, shuttles to the airport/metro, wonderful staff, etc. And if you're looking for a venue that will offer amazing food, this place certainly does, with an award-winning chef and a fantastic food and bev team.

Thank you Andrea, Rafii, Chef David, and everyone else who made our celebration so perfect! We and our guests were treated like royalty. HUGE thank you to Sara, our event coordinator, for a flawless and fun wedding.

    Some specific points...

Hotel Rooms, Restaurant, Services: We had many out of town guests and they all really enjoyed their rooms, services (particularly the shuttle), and the helpful staff. The two of us fell in love with the suite we had the night of the wedding, which is so cool and funky and huge, with such an amazing view. Perfect for getting ready in on the day-of.

Event spaces: We had our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all at the Renaissance. We had three different spaces for the events, all on the second floor - everything flowed together perfectly. The spaces were part of the reason a few of our guests said that it was a very "guest-friendly" wedding. Plus, even though it was Dec 31/Jan 1, we had access to the outdoor terrace, which was nice if people needed to cool down from the dancing.

Food: Awesome. We came in for dinner at SOCCi before signing our contract, and that's really what sealed the deal. Then our tasting was so much fun (come hungry!!). We received so many compliments about the food from our guests - this was *extremely* important to us in planning the wedding.

The Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel was very accommodating and helpful to my needs, considering I was planning our holiday party last minute. Andrea Murphy and Sara Lechner (and staff) were very accommodating and helpful - loved them, especially Sara as she worked with me through the very end! Would highly recommend Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel and work with Andrea Murphy and Sara Lechner again! VERY pleased!

This venue made my wedding dreams come true!! It was beautiful without needing to do much too it, but everything that I wanted to add the team at the Renaissance worked with me to make sure it happened. Everyone was so friendly, helpful, and quick to respond; it made the process so much less stressful!!

As an Indian bride, marrying a non-Indian groom, we put a lot of thought into how we would organize our intercultural wedding events. We decided on having our two ceremonies and dinner reception at the Renaissance. From the moment we walked in, we LOVED the unique, trendy and modern decor! In my opinion, this Ballroom is the most beautiful in town!

Staff: Sara, our hotel event planner, went above and beyond before the wedding, during the wedding, and even post-wedding to ensure that we were satisfied. The level of joy and enthusiasm from Sara and the hotel staff was wonderful to experience on my wedding day! It felt like they were all a part of my family!

Pre-Wedding: I got dressed in the beautiful Bridal Suite (Presidential Suite). All of my photos and video footage from these special moments look GORGEOUS thanks to the modern furniture and appeal of the Renaissance suites. My groom and his groomsmen got dressed in a smaller ballroom downstairs and had a wonderful experience as well.

Baraat (Groom’s arrival in Indian weddings): The Renaissance is able to accommodate amazing Baraats! There is a long grass lawn on the side of hotel on which my groom arrived - riding a horse, dancing and celebrating with his family/friends. The grass lawn provides beautiful scenery for Baraats (as opposed to streets or parking lots).

Ceremonies: We used the main ballroom and Sara worked on every minute detail, such as ensuring that we had the proper staging for both ceremonies, communicating with our DJ for audio needs, personal wedding planner, officiants, etc. We had no problems from start to finish!

Reception: Due to our desire to have Indian food, we used an outside catering package. We were very happy that our caterer already had a wonderful working relationship with the Renaissance! Our guests still rave about how beautiful the venue is! We highly recommend Renaissance Capital View for an amazing and memorable wedding experience!

Getting married at the Renaissance Arlington is a fabulous experience! The modern décor of the lobby and ballroom, and scenic views from the hotel rooms are unbeatable. The food and service at the reception was incredible - we are still receiving positive feedback from our guests regarding both, and the ballroom looked just magical. We loved everything about our wedding, even the planning process leading up to it, thanks in large part to Sara Lechner and the hotel staff. Sara and her team's dedication, organization, attention to detail, enthusiasm, and thoughtfulness were unparalleled. We highly recommend the Renaissance Arlington Capital View for your wedding.

My husband and I were married here, and we had a truly wonderful experience thanks to the professionalism, attentiveness, and kindness of your staff. When we first booked the venue over a year ago, Ron Kee showed us the ropes, designed the contract for us and was so friendly and reassuring; we knew we were in good hands. He was also always quick to respond to our questions even though the event was so far out. Then Latoya Swan took over the ropes and wow, she didn’t miss a beat. She too was very responsive to questions, at times MULTIPLE daily emails. She did her absolute best to get us everything we wanted including a signature drink the hotel had never made before, a food tasting at a time the chef normally didn’t have free, and the list goes on. We honestly can’t believe she never told us no (and if she did, we didn’t notice it!!). We felt like we were the most important people at the hotel, especially for our wedding day- and we know she had another wedding going on that day too. The royalty treatment was also extended to our guests; several of them commented to us on how friendly the hotel staff was, how welcoming and accommodating everyone was. We’d like to point out a few in particular- Michael at the front desk was incredible, he took care of anything we and our guests asked for (including storing 3 cakes one guest brought up from Georgia for our off-site rehearsal dinner), and quickly and with a smile. And he remembered guests by name! The lovely man assigned to us at our wedding reception, who's name we wish we could remember, made sure we were fed quickly and always had a beverage in our hands- a request made of him by the groom. Truly all of the event staff, and front desk, valet, and restaurant staff, even housekeeping staff were so wonderful and personable. It’s one thing for us to have been treated so well, but it truly means the world to us that our loved ones were also in good hands.
    We love RACVH!

We had our wedding at the Renaissance in September and it was the most AMAZING wedding we could have ever imagined having. Ron Kee, our sales manager was by far the best sales manager we met with. He continued to follow up with us and truly made us feel like we were VIP. Latoya Swan was our event manager and she was also fabulous. Her attention to detail and willing to accommodate us was impressive. The hotel itself is beautiful and the staff, from the valet to the banquet servers, were awesome. I would totally recommend having your wedding at this hotel- it is a great location with so much to do and the airport is super close... your guests will be taken care of for the weekend with an excellent experience.

Amazing staff who made our dreams come true! We visited the Renaissance Hotel right after it opened in Spring 2011 and immediately fell in love with the hotel- the staff was welcoming, the decor was modern and appealing, and the food was delicious!

If you are lucky enough, make sure to work with Sales Manager Ron Kee, Event Manager Sara Lechner, Chef David Craemer, and Chef Adam. You will have the best team supporting you on your most important day- they will never miss any detail!

The Renaissance team exceeded my every expectation! They made sure our families were comfortable in their hotel rooms, checked that we had the right vegan meals brought out for our specific dinner guests, and triple checked all vendor details in advance to make sure everything went smoothly on our big day! I did not miss anything on my wedding day- I did not feel rushed and even ate all my meals that day! Shows you how great of a team is at the Renaissance when the bride is calm, cool & collected on the big day :) My wedding was only a month ago but I'm already trying to find another reason to throw a party at the Renaissance so I can work with their amazing staff again!

My Husband and I were married on May 12, 2012 at the Renaissance. The staff was very responsive and very flexible. It is one of our most favorite hotels in the city. Since the Renaissance opened it's doors we've had the privilege of being part of a few other weddings among our family and friends. We've always enjoyed our stay and the friendly service and staff. Ron and his staff are just amazing!

My husband and I HIGHLY recommend the Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel! Ron Kee, the catering sales manager, was extremely helpful throughout the process and a delight to work with. Ana Varela was our Renaissance wedding coordinator and she worked closely with our personal wedding coordinator, Marilyn Patterson of Joyous Events. Ron, Ana, and Marilyn made our wedding an unforgetable experience! Everything was beautiful, the food was incredible, and the night ran smoothly. My husband and I had no worries and were able to just have fun! So many of our guests have said that this was best wedding they've ever gone to. They loved the venue, the hotel rooms (as we had about a 30 room room-block), and the food! We got so many compliments about how good the dinner was...which is usually unheard of at hotels. Ana also made sure our keyboardist for the ceremony, and our live band for the reception, had the appropriate sound boards and staging, etc. She even came to check on me in the suite as I was getting ready for the ceremony. :-) Overall, it was a great experience from the planning phase to the wedding day! You can't go wrong with this venue!

The venue is so modern and pretty. It is a great venue to hold large events. Our guests loved the hotel - it is close to the airport and DC thus making it a perfect location.

unbelievable experience!!! we were fortunate to find this place before it was ever finished and when we were able to see the finished product (they opened in march) we could not have been more thrilled. the hotel is stunning...modern but cozy. our guests said they have never had food like that at a wedding...it tasted like we were at one of the great american restaurants. then the staff...beyond the look of the hotel, and the insane food, the staff surpassed all of our expectations. i'm convinced if anyone walked in to the hotel looking for a wedding venue, you would not be able to fathom having your wedding anywhere else...it's that cool!

I can't say enough about my experience at the Renaissance Capital View. My first interaction with the property was before it was even built! I was a pre-opening bride and am so happy with my choice!! My (now) husband was hesitant in booking our wedding reception at a venue that wasn't built yet. I assured him it would be nothing short of excellent - and I'm happy to say that was exactly the case. Here is a quick rundown as to why I am rating the Renaissance 5/5!

Ambiance - perfect! James on the AV team made sure the uplighting was the exact shade of purple I wanted :)
Food - DELICIOUS. Every plate that was cleared was empty. Chef Adam is fabulous!!! The tasting was exactly like the dinner service - and nothing short of excellent!!
Service - OUT OF THIS WORLD. The front desk welcomed me by name. Heather in reservations was more than accommodating with all the room block changes/upgrades/etc. Even down to Friday night when I called in a panic. The room was set perfectly down to each detail. Our event staff kept everything on track/time. My signature drink was never empty during my wedding - thank you Banquets and Ermiyes!! The lobby bartenders were more than accommodating after the reception was over. And the restaurant was ready for a rush of hungry guests Sunday morning.

Thank you Renaissance Capital View! Cheers to an evening I'll never forget!!

Hands down the best experience I've had with any vendor for a gorgeous venue. I remember my fiancé (now Husband) had walked into the hotel the first opening day and asked for Ron (Senior Sales Executive) although shocked to see my husband on the first day Ron was super helpful and gave my husband a complete tour of the venue. When I came in the following week for a tour I just knew this was where I wanted to be married and I wanted all my guest to be amazed at the jaw dropping contemporary venue. LaToya was my planner and she was super helpful as well. I love how happy everyone was to work at the Renaissance and and show how every aspect of the hotel could be used to accommodate guests and family for the wedding. Even Alex I believe he's head of the kitchen services was overly welcoming and generous and calmed me down when I realized the wedding cake hadn't arrived. Everything worked out in the end and I had a unforgettable spectacular wedding. Thanks to all of your services. Highly, highly recommended!!!

I loved everything about my reception at the Renaissance at Arlington. Sarah was very attentive and met with me multiple times prior to the wedding. She tied together all of the loose ends and helped make my whole day a dream. The staff was so amazing and made me feel like a Princess. I did my room block at this hotel and got dressed in a fabulous suite at the hotel. All my guests could not say enough about how great the hotel was. It is close to DC and the national mall. The shuttle service takes guests everywhere. My pictures are great just based on the beautiful decor of the hotel. This is the most magical hotel I have ever visited and was so happy to have our amazing reception at this beautiful space.

The venue was terrific. The food was terrific thanks to Chef David Creamer. The room prices for our guests couldn't be beaten and the weddings suites were amazing. They were extremely flexible and easy to work with...we could literally ask them for anything and they would accommodate. My wife and I were treated like royalty from the start because we were the first couple to sign a wedding contract with them while the hotel was being built. We even got a shout-out from one of the Marriotts during the grand opening ceremony. The only knock is that sometimes they were a little tough to get in touch with when we had questions, but the final product was outstanding.

We had our wedding reception at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View hotel, which consisted of a cocktail hour in the second story foyer and dinner and dancing in the main ballroom. It was a fabulous venue! Latoya was our event coordinator, and she was a complete joy to work with! She took care of a lot of the planning as well as all deliveries, greeting the vendors, and set up the day of. They offered a tasting session for us to try out their food and set our menu. It was a really fun afternoon, and the food was phenomenal! We were able to offer our guests a choice between beef, chicken, salmon, and vegetarian, and the guests raved about the food! The dinner was plated with wine, and the guests had to pre-select a meal. It was more work for us, but it made for a calm relaxing dinner. We had our own waiter, Alex, who was a sweetheart and took great care of us all night long. He coordinated the courses of our meal with us so we had time to mingle, but also had time to ourselves to eat. The bartenders also created a custom cocktail for our guests in our wedding color, and we had an open bar, which we definitely got our money worth out of. They did a great job setting up the ballroom and created a fun atmosphere.
About half of our wedding guests were from out of town so it was great to have the reception at a hotel close to the airport and offered a shuttle, great room rates, and was close to the metro. It’s connected to the Residence Inn next door. I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights prior to the wedding and had the suite for the night before and night of the wedding. The rooms are wonderful, and the suite was amazing! It was a great space for us girls to get ready in. All of the hotel staff is extremely friendly. The front desk staff also passed out welcome bags to our guests and helped all the out-of-towners with directions, etc. If you looking for a reception space in a hotel in the DC area, definitely check out the Renaissance Arlington Capital View hotel!

AMAZING cannot even begin to describe the beautifully modern look of this hotel. Our guests were commenting all night (and at breakfast the next day) on how beautiful this hotel is, and how impressed they were by it.

The food was also quite impressive- surpassing even some restaurants we've been to. The head chef had a tasting with my fiancee, parents and I- nothing was off limits. We decided to have a midnight snack and after tasting a few things we though maybe chicken tenders would be a good idea- he asked if we liked lightly or heavily breaded chicken and came back in 10 minutes with the most amazing chicken tenders- literally on the fly.

The planning process was the only pitfall for us- we had no less than 3 planners (the first two left the company during our 15 month contract). All in all, we were assigned to Laura as the last planner and she was phenomenal- even keeping in touch with us during her vacation (as it was the week before the wedding).

You won't be disappointed with the service or value of the hotel.

I visited this location as the second to last of 6 venues. It was the most affordable of all of my venues, so I didn't think it would be the one. It is a gem in the middle of Crystal City. Most of the hotels in that area are 20+ years old, but this venue is young and vibrant. The catering manager was extremely sweet and didn't hesitate to answer my SEVERAL questions. Once the venue was booked I was assigned an event coordinator and while she was sweet I would soon find out she wasn't the most organized. Three months before my wedding, I had to chase her down so that I could make one of my scheduled payments and it took her four days to call me back. When she finally did, she told me that it was also her last day and she would be moving to a different location. I got my new event coordinator about 2 weeks later. As I met and discussed with my new coordinator I found out I was given a lot of misinformation from the original coordinator but the new coordinator worked very well to best accommodate the promises that were given by the first one. The day of the wedding, the food was slightly different from what we had during the food tasting, but I had nothing but compliments from our guests. Overall the new coordinator was very nice and did her best to accommodate us and give us the best event ever. Our room rate was on average $50 more than the pricing most of my guests got from the website directly, even up to the day of.

Let's start with the good. We had a beautiful, beautiful wedding here, and as far as we know, everything went off without a hitch. The weekend of the event, everyone was incredibly nice and accommodating to us, our families and our guests. It's a gorgeous facility that feels new, the rooms are so nice and clean, the food was fantastic and in a city of extremely expensive venues, this was relatively affordable and feels like a hidden gem. It was also affordable for our guests to stay here, which was meaningful, and great that we could do the ceremony and reception in one place, where many people were staying. The wedding weekend itself was a great experience and we got a ton of compliments on the venue and on the service that weekend.

HOWEVER. Dealing with folks at the Renaissance during the planning process was extremely and inordinately stressful. There were major discrepancies between what was promised to us by a sales associate as we were signing the contract (who left shortly thereafter) and what our actual wedding coordinator (who is not a planner, despite what the contract says) was interested in doing/able to do. This led to a lot of conflict and really did make our planning process quite a bit more stressful. We also felt, during the process, that the first instinct of the hotel was to say no--even on minor logistical things, and even when they would later say yes--and communication was sometimes challenging.

Bottom line, would I recommend this hotel? It is a gorgeous venue, the folks we dealt with during the weekend were absolutely wonderful, it's relatively affordable and actually being there is a great experience. So, yes, but I would make sure to get EVERYTHING down in writing in the contract before signing, and to get some specifics before signing on what your relationship with your coordinator will be like so that everyone can have expectations in the right place.

We had our wedding here in June 2012 and it was a beautiful event. We had an incident occur which made us a little unhappy, but Matthew contacted me this week and more than made up for it.

We would definitely recommend this venue and the hotel overall (it is new, modern, and beautiful), especially since their customer service has improved significantly over the past few years! They provide an airport shuttle that was crucial since 90% of our 300 guests were from out of town. We have decided to host our son's Christening brunch here and our guests will be using the Renaissance for their hotel stays.

The location at Crystal City and the contemporary design is what attracted us. The facilities performed up to our expectations and the weddings and reception itself finally went fine. But the wedding planner was not consistent and did not follow rapidly. The facility lost some of the Chaffing dishes that we had rented from outside because the hotel had only smaller sizes and was not very responsive to our repeated inquiries after the wedding. Still waiting. The responsiveness that was there before signing the contract diminished subsequently.
Rooms were appreciated by the guests who stayed even though initially there was a disconnect between the planner and the front disc people resolved after talking to the manager. Will still recommend because the facility was the right one for the Events.
