    Excellent!

    We had an amazing wedding at the Renassaince Chicago North Shore Hotel! Michele Zurlo took care of everything and we can’t thank her enough! My husband and I are so grateful for Michele!

    Great experience

    Michele is such an amazing person and coordinator! She tiredlessly reviewed every detail about the planning process with us. We had so many questions and she always hand an answer for us. The hotel is very accommodating to our requests and the staff are always been ready to help. We had a beautiful wedding there. All the guests had a great time.

    A must look into venue

    Michele was a breeze to work with. She took care of us from day 1. From wedding planning to enjoying the party everything was amazing. The wait staff was amazing too. They were very responsive to our needs as the bride and groom. From serving us drinks on the dance floor to heading up to the honeymoon suite to get flats for the bride they were great.

    This entire wedding went seamlessly from start to finish all thanks to Michele. My husband and I had no idea where to start in our wedding planning and Michele asked every question that you could possibly think of to get the ball rolling for us, as well as help us expand on our vision. She was great in following up quickly, either the same or next day. Booking at this venue also gave us even more benefits that we could possibly dream about. We even had a special cocktail for the evening that is customary in my culture that all of our guests loved. We have only heard positive feedback about our wedding and we will definitely recommend this venue (and especially Michele) to all of our friends that will be getting married.

    We were beyond pleased with our experience at the Mariott Renaissance North Shore! Every little detail was taken care of by Michele and her team -- from the planning to the execution of the event, we could not have been happier with our venue choice. Top notch food, impeccable customer service, attention to detail, excellent space. Highly recommend this venue to future couples!

    Michele and her staff at Renaissance were fantastic. They were extremely responsive and anticipated our every need. No detail was overlooked and our wedding went off without a hitch. The hotel itself is beautiful as well and the food is outstanding.

    The Renaissance is a beautiful hotel with amazing staff. This suburban hotel gave my guests the feeling of a boutique city hotel without the crazy price tag. The staff was professional and extremely helpful, ensuring every detail was just right. For the day of, the getting ready rooms were fantastic and helped make the entire day perfect! My guests raved about the food for dinner, and we loved using the bar area after the wedding! Not enough great things to say about this wedding venue!

    Michele & the entire crew are the best. Wish I could give everyone 100 stars. This is the 2nd event we have had there & I would never look elsewhere. I am still being complimented on both events. Because of Michele, Becky & the entire staff, my daughter had the wedding she always dreamed of! The food was amazing, the room was stunning and the service was impeccable. I could never thank you enough. Michele - ypu are the best!!!

    Michele was the reason we chose The renaissance. It was clear that she knew a lot about weddings, as she knew the questions we should be asking and covered every last detail. The space was set up beautifully and exactly how I imagined. There was not one kink or problem in day and she was waiting for us upon our arrival to the venue. I highly recommend working with Michele.

    Mariya is best! She is very professional and helpful! Always so quick for the response to your email, message, phone call. We cannot make the wedding happen without her help.
    The price is very good, especially among the rich Northshore neighborhood.
    We had the cocktail party and the reception in seperate room, which having people on the eight floor with petio for the cocktail, and first floor big ballroom for the reception, which is awesome! Thanks Mariya again for making this hapeen.
    Even the preparing room for our bridal party are so nice , high end.
    The cake included is very delicious and pretty. Ps, Oak Mill is the bakery vendor.
    One thing want to point out. The food is not that perfect. When we did the tasting, the beef is over cooked; so we asked it medium. But on the wedding day, it was too raw. That is the only thing not that perfect. I understand it's hard to make dinner for so many people all together. May need more communicating with the Chef.
    Overall, our wedding is amazing. :)

    Once we saw Renaissance Chicago North Shore Hotel for the first time, we knew the search for our wedding reception venue was over!

    My now, husband and I planned to get married 4-5 months after the first time we visited Renaissance. Our contact was Mariya who we communicated with over e-mail, as I was still living in Canada at the time. We were able to meet Mariya in March 2016 and she was a pleasure to work with, welcomed all our questions and concerns and was very understanding that my family and in-laws were out of towners, only my then, fiance, lived in the area. Mariya was very punctual and detailed in her responses as most of the communication was done on email and phone.

    It helped that Renaissance had many contacts for the cake, table decor, photobooth, which made it so much easier with the planning process!

    We loved Renaissance, some advantages and highlights we found:
    - Modern design and classy atmosphere
    - Uplighting available
    - Beautiful ballroom
    - Room blocks for guests
    - Ample parking
    - Delicious variety of food
    - Getting ready rooms for bridal party
    - Complimentary suite for bride and groom and much more!

    Now, 5 months later, our family and guests continue to share with us how much they enjoyed our reception venue and how friendly all the staff were!

    Thankful for Mariya who was always so patient with us and always had a smile on her face!
    Bill in the lobby was very friendly and always welcoming! By the first day we met, he already knew us on a first-name basis! We could not have had a better team, Mariya and staff, helping us and our reception looked more beautiful than we ever imagined!

    Mariya and the staff at the Renaissance were wonderful. They had great ideas and everything about our reception was beautiful. The small details they recommended really brought everything together. We got so many compliments on how delicious the food was and how beautiful the room looked. Each person we worked with to plan the day was responsive and helpful. Our day was perfect from start to finish. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a wedding location in the northern suburbs.

    UNBELIEVABLY AMAZING-does not even begin to describe how incredible this venue is. When my husband and I began to look at venues-we knew that we needed to be semi-flexible on location because we wanted a very high end wedding and was not sure that we could do everything we wanted with a city address, so we ventured out to suburbs. From the moment we stepped into the Renaissance, we may have been in Northbrook, but it did not look or feel that way inside of the hotel. The hotel was recently remodeled and to say it looks like a downtown hotel does not give it justice-it is classy, beautiful, elegant and everything you would want to have for your wedding.
    We met with Kristin-who I can honestly say is the most attentive, responsible, helpful-Wedding Manager, I have ever worked with. Kristin was with us from our first visit to the hotel up to the last plate being cleared during dinner. Kristin & I spoke on an almost daily basis not just about the logistics about the wedding at the Renaissance, but Kristin went above and beyond and contacted our other vendors about their logistics/needs. You have heard horror stories about vendors not working together-because of Kristin we never had that.
    Everything was just so perfect-the room, lighting, cocktail hour our get ready rooms everything! There was not a single request or ask that we had that wasn't left with a YES response-Kristin & her team worked tirelessly to truly make this the best day of our lives. On the arrival of our wedding weekend, my husband and I felt like celebrities, everyone at the hotel from the front desk team, to our banquet manager, and the house cleaning service all made us feel like family. The true test to an establishment is when you come back after your event and to see how you were treated-we were back at the Renaissance on our one month and the restaurant staff remembered who we were and told us how beautiful our wedding was. If you are still looking--RUN--to the Renaissance North Shore!!

    We LOVED every single about this venue, and we loved working with the wedding department! Kristin was incredible beyond words---unfortunately now she no longer works there, and when we went to go back and stay at the hotel you could tell that things had definitely changed. We have not interacted with the bridal department since our wedding so maybe things are still just as amazing, I would just make sure you know what you want and what you can see in your vision!

    We held both our ceremony and reception in the Northbrook Ballroom. The space is absolutely beautiful and the staff is fantastic! We worked with Kristin to make our day everything that we wanted. We love Kristin. She was on top of everything and she made planning our wedding from out of state a breeze. The banquet staff was also wonderful. They really helped to make our day a hit with our guests. The food was amazing (our guests are still talking about it 3 months later). At one point in the night I even saw the bartender dancing to the music. The staff really made us feel like we were at home, and that made the day that much better. THANK YOU!

    I can not rave enough about the Renaissance North Shore and Jeaneatte Ocampo. I visited many venues before choosing the Renaissance and none compared in value. Jeanette was great to work with and very responsive. You could tell she truly cared about how well my day would go. She was there for every step of the process. We chose stations instead of a plated meal (mashedpotatoes, carving, pasta, fiesta, and ice cream sundae). Our guests were raving about the food and the experience. They said it was some of the best food they ever had let alone best wedding food. It was absolutely delicious. The staff was hospitable and kind the entire night. The room (The Northbrook Ballroom) was gorgeous and just as I had envisioned it. When looking for a venue no other place provided a as large or a cocktail area and ballroom. My husband and I do not drink and Jeanette was willing to work with this unique aspect to our reception, which many venues turned us down because of. She helped us create a perfect evening that we will remember for the rest of our lives. Thank you so much Jeanette!

    We used the Renaissance for both our ceremony and reception; guests mingled in the roomy (and gorgeous) foyer for cocktails while the room was flipped into the reception site. I can't say enough about this place. The lobby and venue itself is impressive, offering a "city" hotel look in a suburban atmosphere (and for a suburban price). The event went off flawlessly, with the staff completely dedicated to meeting our needs. They asked us numerous times if the room temperature was OK and if we needed anything at all. In addition, the food was amazing. We've gotten so many compliments on the soup in particular (go with the tomato basil!), and I'm confident that rave reviews of hotel food are usually few and far between. They also effectively moved people into the reception room and got them seated with style -- hitting a sort of small hand-held xylophone to summon people to the room. It was classy and it worked. THe place was plenty roomy to accommodate all our guests, and we were the only bridal party -- unlike in some hotels, where you share the space with several other brides on a given night. This meant we had plenty of room to ourselves -- a room downstairs for pictures; two changing rooms (with ice water stations and showers and toilets); etc. The only mild snag came about a month beforehand, when the two people handling our wedding left and we weren't notified. This meant a few unanswered phone calls, but once they named an interim person the hotel was amazingly helpful and apologetic for any concerns they might have caused. They went out of their way afterward to make sure we were happy and any concerns were put to rest.

    Let me start off by saying that I loved my wedding..I loved the way the Renaissance looked. The food was great.

    It was just the planning part. I had a few issues with the person that I dealt with but she was quick to fix them. However, I felt like at times she had no idea of what we talked about before and maybe was not very detail oriented.

    Overall, great hotel, great reception. I would recommend if you have patients leading up to your event.

    Convenient but a little disorganized

    The Renaissance did the job. We had our wedding block here, and we used their banquet rooms for our rehearsal dinner and brunch.
    The hotel rooms and banquet rooms were nice and clean, and the hotel bar was a great place for people to meet up. However, communication was exceedingly frustrating, and getting anything in writing was a major challenge. This would have been okay except throughout the process, several arrangements we made were ultimately not offered – including transportation to and from our venue, heating stations and even plates and silverware for our catered food. Organization is not a strength of this location. We found ourselves booking last minute shuttles just a few days before our wedding as a result of this.
    That said, the catering staff were incredibly helpful and were able to fix most problems (which were at no fault of their own) quickly.
