Jonna is sooo talented, it's not fair!! I would let her do my makeup everyday if I could. Extremely talented and loved my wedding day soft smokey eyes, and my skin looked flawless in photos and IRL!Jonna is sooo talented, it's not fair!! I would let her do my makeup everyday if I could. Unfortunately, a bad experience
I normally do not write reviews, however I feel it is important for individuals to have an idea of what kind of experience they might have, especially for their wedding day. So I had booked Jonna for a trial run of her services to determine if she was someone I would like to hire for my own wedding. We had a date set and paid an initial deposit. I was coming in from out of town so my time frame wasn’t the best so I thought it was great that she accommodated me. Day of the trial, the appointment time we set came and went. After texting Jonna if everything was all right and checking if we were still on, she let me know she wouldn’t be able to make it and she had mixed up myself and one of the other girls she had scheduled for a different day so that’s why she hadn’t contacted me to let me know. We were thankfully able to reschedule for my last day in town. The night before, I got another call from Jonna saying she would not be able to make it again. This was pretty disappointing since I wouldn’t be in town again until the weekend of my wedding and now I wouldn’t be able to even see if I liked her work enough to hire. After ultimately deciding to go in a different direction, I reached out to have my initial deposit refunded since I never had any of the services performed. I attempted to get in contact quite a few times through text, email, DM, and gave her a call. Since my initial refund request, 2 months ago, I have not gotten any response. Planning a wedding takes a lot of time and money. It is disheartening to spend money on something for your big day and then have it fall through. It is especially disappointing to lose your hard earned money that could have been put towards other details of the wedding.I normally do not write reviews, however I feel it is important for individuals to have an idea of what kind of experience they might have, especially for their wedding day. Horrible!!!!!
DO NOT RECOMMEND!! This experience was absolutely horrible!!!! Not only was Jonna(did not even know her name until the bride told me bc she didn’t introduce herself to me) unprofessional but she was rude and rushed. When I got there, the bride was already in tears, and very upset, due to the makeup not being what she wanted. She made no attempts to fix the problem or even ask if she liked it. She rudely told me to “sit” and started aggressively brushing foundation on my face. She also rubbed stuff on my face with her bare hands and did not wash them before hand. I asked her if she knew what I wanted done and she said no. I showed her the inspo pic and she barely looked down. I also told her I did not want false lashes and she still glued one on. I politely told her I did not want them, and she proceeded to literally rip it off of my eyelid. Then she said she was finished but did not do my lips , eyebrows , or even mascara. I asked if she could show me in the mirror and she said she didn’t have a mirror. Then she started packing all of her products up (ELF products) and rushed out the door two hours early without saying much of anything. She was paid to stay until 2 PM, but left around noon to go to a concert…
She left the random hair girl that she hired the night before at the home to finish up. She left her makeup bag there and then proceeded to blow up the brides phone before the ceromony saying she needed said bag. The makeup looked like I was dusty and she did not even cover blemishes. It was not worth 150. The hair lady told me my hair was all one layer and due to that she could not curl it… I wanted a curled half up half down do. She told me we would have to straighten my hair and do it that way. The 67 Bobby pens she used for the up-do fell out an hour into the wedding. They also both looked very disheveled and just entirely unprofessional. Would not under any circumstance hire her.DO NOT RECOMMEND!! This experience was absolutely horrible!!!! Cancelled the day before my wedding
She canceled on the day before my wedding. I booked her a year before the wedding. She had no one to back her up. She knew I was coming in from out of town so I wouldn’t have known anybody else that could be a back up. If she responds to this one star respond, she is going to offer something free. Which she did not do when she canceled on me. I would say stay away from her because she has no one to back her up. I understand if somebody has something, but if they don’t have a Plan B, I think you might want to look for someone else.

Please be aware.
I am so sick to my stomach. When I first spoke with Jonna, she seemed wonderful. The reviews on the knot seemed great.
We set up an appointment a week out for a Thursday for a trial. I unfortunately didn’t get a contract signed from her before I paid her for the trial through Venmo. She texts me the Wednesday afternoon before (day before) asking if we can move it for health reasons that popped up and that she also wasn’t a morning person. I told her that unfortunately I’m not available later on Thursday, but could do Friday, so we rescheduled. I then get a call from her on Thursday that she now has more health issues completely different from the day before, and she asks if we can move it to next week.
At this point I told her that I didn’t think I could be available next week and asked for a refund. She says “of course,” but that she will need to wait until Monday when her funds hit her account (4 days later). I was confused, because I paid her through Venmo, so she should have been able to just Venmo me right back. She said she would look into it and let me know.
I never heard from her, and proceeded to email, text, call, DM, and message through the knot, with no response. After reaching out for 6 days across multiple platforms to try and receive a refund, she texts me the following Wednesday, and tells me that she had more personal health reasons pop up (different issues from the last two times), and wouldn’t be able to get me my refund until Friday. I was confused by that because she had the ability to text me, so should have had the ability to Venmo me the refund on that same phone.
Then on Friday, come to find out, she’s blocked me through Instagram and phone. I never received a refund as promised and was ghosted by this vendor. I don’t know what to do but want to make sure this doesn’t happen to other couples looking to support a small business, as I was hoping to do.
I never write 1-star reviews as I believe in supporting businesses (especially small businesses), but I wanted to get the word out on what happened so it doesn't happen to anyone else. Services were never rendered for the payment I gave to this vendor. If I had received a refund, I wouldn't need to post any of this at all.
*Update- unfortunately below she states many false claims about me which are not worth responding about, and that a family member issued a refund- this is not the case and I can provide proof of no refund if anyone wants to be sure- if I had received payment, as I stated above, this review would not be here. I hope no one else makes the same mistake I did!I am so sick to my stomach. When I first spoke with Jonna, she seemed wonderful. The reviews on the knot seemed great.
