The Ritz Carlton at Dove Mountain is gorgeous!! Hands down the best venue in the Tucson area!! The entire staff is professional & courteous! It is obvious that service is a top priority!! Our wedding coordinator (Angela) was beyond amazing!!! She made our wedding this past weekend (11/21/15) perfect!!! She genuinely loves what she does and goes above & beyond!! Sweetest person you could meet while planning your wedding!! The food, setting, & staff made our day run smooth & wonderful!! The Ritz is expensive, but completely worth it!!! Every penny was worth it!! Our guests raved about their experiences at the resort as well. One word....AMAZING!!!!!!!The Ritz Carlton at Dove Mountain is gorgeous!! We could not have picked a more perfect place for our wedding. Dove Mountain has a relaxing and inviting feel to it, our guests were just awed at the beauty and elegance. Not only was the atmosphere wonderful, but the staff is just as wonderful. There staff is friendly and really define what GREAT customer service is. We look forward to going back every year to celebrate our anniversary! We could not have picked a more perfect place for our wedding. Disappointed
The Ritz Dove Mt. is a beautiful location and an outdoor ceremony is everything you desire. My issue was with the reception. They set up the ball room incorrectly, no big deal, however, my DJ was in the wrong location which affected music quality/volume. The food was not the same as it was at the tasting, particularly, the lobster bisque we chose for a starter. It was spectacular at the tasting but condensed, fishy, salty and non edible at my wedding. I was starving after pictures and did not eat it, my ballroom smelled of fish, it was awful. When I complained I had a rude chef come out to what I thought was to apologize. He, instead, told me he tried it and it was fine and I was wrong in so many words. I was told I wouldn’t need a wedding planner and their planner would be there for me 100% day of. I did not see her at all until before I walked down the isle 30 min late because my makeup artists, myself and my bridesmaids could not get into our room designated to get us ready for over an hour. Some of my family that were in the wedding didn’t get a room at check in time and were waiting well passed noon until I personally called and complained myself, this was my sister/bridesmaid that wanted to do her own makeup and hair as well as my two nieces. The Ritz also had a whole other event right next to us that was never mentioned, it was awkward and some of our guests thought that was our area for the cocktail hour. I was happy that they provided our guests with complimentary cookies and that was nice but for the price they don’t cover their banquet chairs (you can pay to get them draped yourself). They don’t allow you to drape ceilings unless you’re going to pay their 5,000 machines to do it and some insurance from what I was told. But the number ONE complaint I have with them is the fact that if we missed someone’s RSVP or for some reason they were not on the list they were made aware of it! They were tolled “you did not confirm and you will have to wait 30-40 minutes for your dinner.” I had told the Ritz wedding planner ahead of time that some of our out of town family members were unsure and not on the list but may make it. (The list has to be complete weeks before the event without altering and you will pay for no show guests, I did not want to pay for unsure guests!) Also cmon my family has a couple people that meant to send it but didn’t. Anyway she say not to worry everyone will be fed and treated well even if they show up not on list: Not true! We had tables waiting on food letting everyone else’s food get cold while waiting to not be rude. (My nieces friend in particular which it was my nieces 21st birthday and I had approved her friend to come, and e-mailed their planner about it and it was supposed to be perfectly fine. We had people asking for their dish constantly who were told because they weren’t on the list they had to wait: (we later found out) worse of all we had two people (that we know of) that didn’t insist and who did not eat at my wedding because their plates never came. This was beyond me and embarrassing. We got a couple of dollars back per person after complaining but just for the lobster starter. Hardly a dent on an over 50,000 wedding with this many inconsistencies, inconveniences and mistakes. The Ritz Dove Mt. is a beautiful location and an outdoor ceremony is everything you desire.
