My husband and I always enjoyed the level of service we've received when we've dined at Rock Bottom, so when we got engaged and were discussing where we'd like to have our wedding, Rock Bottom was definitely an option. We were just looking to have a low-key celebration of our marriage, and Katie and her team at Rock Bottom provided us with that. They were more than flexible and accommodating with every request we made. At the last minute we decided we wanted to extend our open bar a little extra longer, and they were able to accommodate us with that. A lot of venues require that you use their stuff and their vendors, but we were able bring our own decorations, and were even able to bring our own cake--we opted out of bringing our own cake, and just used their dessert options, but I thought it was nice that we had the option to bring our own if we wanted. They also let us come in the day before to have a rehearsal and to setup the decorations. They even offered to help us with the decoration setup, which relieved so much stress.

I had emailed back and forth with Katie for several months while we planned the Big Day. She was very quick to address any questions or concerns we had in regards to the wedding. She made some very good suggestions and anticipated our every need. Katie and the staff at Rock Bottom did everything to ensure our guests had a wonderful time. I can't say enough good things about the overall experience I had with planning our wedding at Rock Bottom. I was worried about how stressful planning a wedding would be, but Katie made planning everything so easy and worry-free.

I am so happy my husband and I had our wedding at Rock Bottom. If we ever need to have another event, I'll definitely be hosting it at Rock Bottom!

Rock Bottom Chicago for the win! We had our rehearsal dinner here for about 40 people the night before our wedding and everything was just perfect. The food was amazing, the drinks were great and the service was outstanding. The atmosphere here was so chill and relaxed. The bartenders and servers were awesome. Brad and his crew took care of us all night along with kicking out numerous party crashers. Katie set up everything and made sure it ran smoothly. We've been going to this Rock Bottom for the past 10 years and it is still our favorite hot spot in the city.

From the very first inquiry to wrapping up our wedding reception, Rock Bottom provided absolute excellence in service. Throughout the planning process, Katie was incredibly flexible and responsive. She answered every question I could think of promptly and professionally. She was very willing to work with our difficult schedules and made sure she was available at times that worked for us. What's more, she worked hard to give us an amazing reception while staying within our budget. She was beyond respectful of our ideas and offered great suggestions. She truly made us feel valued and respected.

The day before our reception, I simply dropped off favors and champagne for a toast and hoped for the best. When we walked into Rock Bottom the following night, we were thrilled. The room looked amazing. The band we hired was all set up. The tables were arranged and decorated. The favors were classily displayed. Appetizers were out, drinks were flowing, and my husband was thrilled to be able to shoot pool with the White Sox game on tv at our reception. Katie had managed to arrange a room that was so perfectly us!

The entire staff was unbelievable all night. Not a single glass or plate was left empty. My family and friends are still raving about the food. Every single bite was cooked to perfection.

In addition to the great staff, great food, and great cocktails, the ambiance of Rock Bottom is undeniable. The room overlooks downtown. The decor has a cool, but welcoming feel. It's spacious and well designed. It's also conveniently located next to the Red line and is within walking distance of hotels in all price ranges.

There is not a single thing we would change about our wedding. It was by far the easiest and smoothest process to plan our reception and I would highly recommend that anyone looking to host a reception in Chicago check this space out.

6/24/16 - we just had our rehearsal dinner - 70 people and must list the RB professionals who were OUTSTANDING! KATIE HULTIN (the best in the catering business!) BRAD DAVIS (Handled the entire evening and was terrific!) IRVING NABOR and J.J. LITTLEFIELD (bar and everything else- totally the best). I would and will recommend these folks and RB to everyone considering any function! Look NO further than this place! Bar/Food and Service was the very best EVER! Ron and Judi G

We held our rehearsal dinner at Rock Bottom in April and were delighted with how well the evening went. Katie was very helpful with organizing the booking and walking us through the room and menu options. The food on the Kolsch menu (3/4 entrée options with a salad and desserts) was very tasty and it was extremely helpful not having to send in food choices for our 60 guests ahead of time. The recently renovated rooms were very nice and the added small touches (e.g. personalized printed menus) were a very nice surprise. The staff on the night were very courteous and friendly and really helped the evening go well. We looked at a number of options in River North and Rock Bottom provided by far the best value for money. We would highly recommend them for a rehearsal dinner or other similar events.

Our wedding was everything we hoped it would be. From the start Katie Hultin was very responsive, helpful, and made the entire process very easy. Her staff was great and was never intrusive during the event. We hardly noticed they were there but they must have been since the event went so smoothly. Would absolutely recommend Rock Bottom for any major event!

Rock Bottom Chicago was the perfect location for our wedding reception. Everything honesty was perfect! We also received such great feedback from family and friends as well. My grandma said it was the best steak she ever had and others with food allergies said the staff was very accommodating, super nice, and made sure their needs were met.
We wanted a fun, hip place for our wedding reception and thought the brewery in downtown chicago would be great. We had around 80 guests and the space was the perfect size. We had plenty of room for the dance floor. I also loved all the windows in the room. That was something I wanted so we could see the city lights. We did adult only due to the venue and capacity. Almost everyone but about 5 people stayed till the very end to dance/drink. It was so much fun.
Rock Bottom was so accommodating for all our requests. Katie handled the linen and chair cover company and also the audio hook-up. It was included on our final bill and I never had to make any calls. It was so easy!
We wanted to extend the dance/open bar a little later and they did this for us. It was such a perfect night. We loved the venue and the staff was absolutely amazing.

I was very unorganized. Katie was very understanding and put up with all my craziness. She was so helpful and absolutely amazing! The place looked beautiful and she made sure I had nothing to worry about. The entire staff was great! We went to the bar downstairs the night before and I mentioned we were getting married there the following da . They took us upstairs to see it once more before the big day. The staff was prompt, fun, and wonderful. I had a few guests with specific meal requests and they were met with no hesitation. I would recommend to anyone and my husband and I hope to go back and celebrate anniversaries to come.

Can't begin to say enough about the event staff/coordinator and their team from the very first inquiry about holding my daughter's bridal shower here. Absolutely amazing....from start to finish! Would highly recommend this venue for any type of event. A huge thank you to Katie and Leah and the amazing team that we had on the day of the event!! Couldn't have done it without you all! Every one of our guests had a wonderful time and also commented on the efficiency and friendliness of the staff, the event room itself and the delicious food.

Katie and her team were outstanding. They anticipated every need, was on time with the food and beverage set up. Room was great. Very much will use this establishment again because of the service we received!

We rented the rooftop for our daughter's day-after-the-wedding-brunch and it was AWESOME! We had great weather and our many out of town guests saw Chicago at its finest and the locals loved it. The food was superb and replenished diligently. The drinks were even better and refilled by friendly bartenders. The rooftop is magnificent and we were thrilled with all aspects of our party. Thanks to all who helped make it so special!

PS The great thing about Rock Bottom is that even if the weather doesn't cooperate...their inside space is just as nice/charming/fun. We had hosted a party inside at RB several years ago and that's what gave us the confidence to gamble on the weather and reserve the rooftop...

Our event was a rehearsal dinner. RB Chicago provided us with exceptional service and wait-staff. They willingly did everything possible to fulfill our party's requests. There were 14 children in our group of 50 or so guests, and the wait-staff continued to show extra special patience, kindness and consideration to all of the kids, as well as the adults throughout the party. Each and every one of our quests totally enjoyed this dinner event, and they made sure to tell us. Most of them commented more than once as to how delicious the food was, as well as "What a GREAT time they were having." The pool table being available right there in the party room was a big plus for our group, as it was in use the entire evening.

Our wedding at Rock Bottom was flawless.

Katie, McKenna and the event team were outstanding. Both are responsive, easy to communicate with and offer great insight. The service, food, alcohol and dessert were impeccable. Every steak was cooked to perfection and served hot. Rock Bottom even found a way to offer warm brownies with ice cream and freshly torched creme brûlée on our dessert bar.

We received the compliment of "this is the best food I've ever had at a wedding" several times. We agree!

Rock Bottom is not a traditional wedding venue, but they were the perfect location for us. The location was casual yet elegant, the venue was flexible and offered many features a traditional venue would not such as craft beer and the option of pool tables in the event space.

We are so pleased that we will not just be telling friends but we will work to find other reasons to host a party at Rock Bottom.

Our Rehearsal Dinner at Rock Bottom couldn't have been more perfect! The service was top notch, the room looked gorgeous, the food was delicious, and the drinks were flowing all night. Rock Bottom was by far the best value we found when looking around the city and we couldn't have been happier with how everything turned out. They exceeded all our expectations and I would recommend this venue to anyone who asked.

It was our wedding rehearsal dinner in the private space on the second floor and everything was fabulous!! Katie and the rest of the staff were wonderful; one of the servers (unfortunately I don't remember her name) even saved us a table for ~10 minutes on the roof when our dinner was over so our family even had some places to sit outside on their packed roof! We would recommend Rockbottom to anyone looking for a venue.

We decided early on in our engagement that we wanted to have our rehearsal dinner at Rock Bottom Brewery since many of our family and friends are beer lovers, the restaurant was within walking distance of the hotel where we had rooms blocked (Westin River North), and we love their rooftop bar (although we ended up having the actual event in a party room on the 2nd floor). Katie was a delight to work with in our preparations for our event! She was quick to respond to all of our emails and was helpful in scheduling an evening for us to visit. We ended up having about 40 guests for dinner and then an additional 40 guests joined us for drinks afterwards. We opted for the IPA Dinner Menu and chose to give our guests the choice of the filet minion (SOOO GOOD), surf & turf, and brew house chicken (there was also a vegetarian option). Katie let us substitute one of the appetizers from a different menu since we didn't like all of the ones included in the IPA Dinner. We also had the brownies and warm donuts (mmmm) for dessert. We decided not to go for the all inclusive drink package since we had a number of older family members as well as guests who don't drink, and instead just served beer and wine. Our night was supposed to end at 11pm, but since there were so many guests still there, Rock Bottom let us extend our evening until midnight with just a minimal fee to cover the cost of our two servers and bartender. We couldn't have asked for better service or a better rehearsal/rehearsal dinner venue!

I was pleasantly surprised with the way our rehearsal dinner turned out at Rock Bottom. We were trying to stay under $2,000 for the event, which is hard to do in downtown Chicago. We decided to go with RB because of their location and the ability to get our own private room for a reasonable price. The state room fit 30 people and we had just about that many. It fit our group perfectly. We ordered the Chicago tailgater buffet along with some salads and a vegetarian option, and the beer and wine open bar. The food was plenty and everyone was telling me how yummy it was. They kept it refilled all night and the bartenders and servers were very kind and accommodating. As a nervous bride, I wasn't sure how everything was going to turn out, especially since I hadn't seen the room we were going to be in ahead of time. I didn't bother worrying about decorations or other details and didn't know what to expect everything to look like, but it turned out to be perfect. After the dinner, the bridal party went up to the rooftop to hang out and have a few drinks, which was a great way to end the night. I would definitely recommend Rock Bottom in downtown Chicago for an event. It was so easy to plan --from the very beginning when Katie responded to my inquiry email immediately, to the end when we all got to relax and celebrate.

We had a great experience in both planning and enjoying our wedding day at Rock Bottom Brewery. Kate, McKenna and their teams were amazing at working with us to fulfill all of our requests. They were very resourceful and accommodating. We had some travel delays on our way to the restaurant and the entire staff was amazing at handling the situation and caring for our guests while they were waiting.
We highly recommend working with Rock Bottom Brewery. They exhibit a high level of professionalism, reliability and flexibility.

Could not have asked for a better party.

We hosted our wedding rehearsal dinner at Rock Bottom in May 2014. Katie was so great to work with during the planning phases - always responsive and very helpful in making menu selections. Katie made everything easy and allowed us to make personalized selections of food and drink. On the day of the event, McKenna was amazing! She executed the timing of the event flawlessly and checked in with recommendations throughout the evening. We were absolutely thrilled with the event space and the people we worked with throughout the whole process. Thank you, Rock Bottom!

Planning my reception with Rock Bottom Brewery was, surprisingly, the most seamless part of planning my wedding. Katie was very responsive and so easy to work with. The staff that was there on the day of our wedding was amazing and really made all of our guests feel welcomed by the venue. They were incredibly easy to work with in regards to what we wanted to bring in, and having everything set up the night before so we could come in early the day of, and had so many things already at their venue for us to use! All of our guests loved Rock Bottom, especially all their amazing craft beer, and the view from the State room was gorgeous at night!
It was a great experience using Rock Bottom, not to mention an amazing price, and we would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a reception venue in Chicago!

Rock Bottom was a great place to host our rehearsal dinner. They were flexible with menu and bar options, as well as let us bring in our own desserts and decor! The staff was excellent and made it a really enjoyable experience for our guests.

The venue was excellent and the food was consistent with Rock Bottoms restaurant menu. The one knock on the service was that we agreed to having beer and wine served as part of the house tab and a fully stocked bar so attendees could purchase cocktails, but they didn't set up the bar for guests to purchase cocktails, they only had the beer and wine available. Other than this miscommunication, the service was very smooth.

Overall this was a great place to host the rehearsal dinner.
