  Outstanding Photographer

  I truly cannot recommend Roost Photography enough. Brandon is passionate about capturing the joy in people's special moments and it reflects through his work- you can somehow feel the love behind his brilliantly and expertly edited photos. On a human level, he is kind, genuine, caring, attentive, helpful, and friendly to everyone he encounters. Roost is a safe and inclusive place for all people and proudly works with many LGBTQ+ couples. We hired Roost as our wedding and engagement session photographer. Here's why you should, too:
  
  1. Photographing your most special moments is Brandon's passion. He genuinely cares about the people he works with and the photos he takes. He won't just do the job by checking items off a list, but rather will work until he is fully satisfied, knowing he has captured your special day or moment from every angle.
  2. Brandon has a natural eye for lighting and photo backdrops. Walking around with his palm outstretched in front of him and stopping his subjects whenever the shadows are just right, you will not get a single photo with questionable lighting from Roost. He also utilizes the area around him (cityscape, buildings, architecture) as beautiful backdrops for his shots.
  3. He's easy to contact. He's always available and responsive on social media, and you can schedule a phone or zoom with him any time. We had an extremely helpful planning meeting before the wedding in which Brandon's expertise actually helped us nail down our timeline. You won't have to worry about tracking him down to deliver your photos either, as he will keep you updated on the expected delivery time.
  4. He will honor your vision for your special day or event. If you give him a specific vision, he will move mountains to make it happen, literally running through crowds of people to capture the next shot if he needs to.
  5. Brandon is competitively priced among other photographers in the area, but will deliver more to you than the average photographer in the area. He delivers all photos within 6 weeks, the gallery size is larger than average, he sometimes creates short videos for you using his photos, and the pictures are absolutely beautiful. Roost is an extremely great value for the price.
  6. He's just the best photographer in Milwaukee. Everyone who sees my engagement or wedding photos tells me how amazing his photos are.   He knew exactly when to help guide things and when to step back and capture some beautiful moments. He knew all the best spots and how to work with our venue. He helped with our schedule and making sure we got everything on our shot list, but still got to relax and leave room for natural moments.
  
  Of all the vendors to invest in for your wedding - your photos will last the longest and it helps to have someone you trust, is easy to work with, and does great work. Brandon is a triple threat, we highly recommend!

  Adaptable and professional; great photos

  My wife and I were married on Oct 10, 2020. As you may have guessed from the date, things did not exactly all go to plan for us. We pared down our guest list from ~150 to 9, changed the venue to a parent's back yard, and were unable to get our original photographer due to health conditions putting them at higher risk.
  
  We were incredibly lucky that our original photographer referred us to Brandon, for several reasons.
  
  He was easy to work with. We wanted to set up a video call to get to know him, and he immediately put us at ease with calm confidence and an easygoing, understated sense of humor. He explained to us the plan that he would be the "boots on the ground" while our original photographer would still do the editing, talked us through plans for the day, and asked us questions to get us thinking about the kind of prep we'd need to do for the shots we'd want.
  
  On the day of, he arrived on time and quickly got to work. He did a great job of taking our ideas and feedback and synthesizing it with his own professional knowledge of photography and experience with weddings to get a variety of really excellent shots. And more than that, with such a small guest list of immediate family only, as you can imagine, everyone was juggling at least a couple of responsibilities, and Brandon rose to the occasion, helping us coordinate shuttling me around to avoid seeing my bride-to-be or her dress before the appointed time. He even hopped on the task of restarting our jury-rigged audio setup - a bluetooth speaker hanging from a tree - when it had gone to sleep during the ceremony and failed to activate for our recessional. This small act - just quickly stepping over and fiddling with a button - nonetheless is indicative of the kind of value Brandon brings: he takes responsibility onto himself to ensure your day is a success. At the same time, he's not pushy or domineering. For example, we wanted some photos with specific things in the background, and he let us know that the lighting conditions would be challenging, but he worked with us to find the angles to everyone's satisfaction.
  
  Now back to the quality of the photos: we couldn't be happier. I'm not sure to what extent he had to modify his own photography technique, given that he knew someone else would be doing the editing. But I'm certain that this is more of a challenge than taking photos that you know YOU will be the one to edit. For photos that Brandon both takes and edits, his website has some very nice galleries. I'm happy to report that his ability to take high quality base material, and his ability to work in a team with other photography professionals, resulted in an outstanding final product.
  
  If you're considering hiring Brandon as your wedding photographer, I would wholeheartedly recommend him. His skill and adaptability will leave you with a wonderful record of your special day. Though we would not have been directly affected, we appreciate that his philosophy is that love is love, and he photographs all weddings without concern for the gender makeup of the spouses.

  Choose Brandon, you won't regret it!

  My husband and I had Brandon photograph our wedding this September and we couldn’t have been luckier! From the very beginning he was responsive, helpful, and organized which is key when you’re planning such a big event. He even offered to (and did) chauffeur us around on our big day since we decided against renting a party bus. (What a guy!) Not only is Brandon an all-around awesome person to spend a day with, but he’s got the skills to match. Wedding photos are one of the few tangible things you keep from your wedding day so we placed a lot of importance in picking the right photographer. We really admired Brandon’s previous work and when it came to our wedding Brandon did not disappoint! Not only did he capture beautiful photographs we get to show people for the rest of our lives, but he managed to make them look just as magical as the day felt. Thank you, Brandon! We are so grateful.

  Brandon is the BEST. No questions asked!

  I cannot speak highly enough about Brandon at Roost Photography. He is the absolute best. Besides his glorious photography skills, my favorite thing about Brandon is his character. He is generous, humble, selfless, and hilarious. He has quickly become one of my favorite people EVER - it was an honor and a privilege to be able to spend time with him on my wedding day. Brandon also made us feel comfortable in front of the camera, which was very important to us. We never felt awkward, uncomfortable, or posed. Brandon also did our engagement photographs which turned out absolutely perfectly. I would 100% recommend Roost Photography over and over again.

  This is the photographer you want for your wedding

  We couldn't be happier with our experience having Brandon as our wedding photographer. He has a warm way of connecting with you (and we only met him on our wedding day so that says a lot). We knew from the moment we set up our initial video chat that he was our guy. He's extremely responsive, caring, thorough, and an all-around great guy - all the qualities we were looking for in a photographer. He does a great job of taking into consideration all of the shots on your "wish list" and he sure did deliver for us! His photos made us smile, laugh, and cry they were so touching. We got married in March in Milwaukee so, as you can imagine, the weather was quite cold and we had lots of rain/sleet. That didn't stop Brandon from making sure to get all the photos we were hoping for. He braved all the elements of that day with us and made it enjoyable! Without hesitation, we highly recommend Brandon for any and all of your events.

  My husband and I could not be happier with our choice to hire Brandon of Roost Photography to capture our wedding day. We really wanted the best of the best and we were not disappointed. From the moment we met him, we knew he would be the perfect fit for us.
  
  The photos from our day turned out beautifully. He captured our day in the exact way that we had hoped. The photos of the two of us showed our love for one another and our personalities came through, too. He caught all of the details and special moments - even the one of a post-ceremony chat with Grandma. Every shot is well thought out from the composition, to the angle, to how the light hits the subject just right, to the overall mood.   We couldn't have asked for a better wedding photographer! Brandon was responsive, knowledgeable, personable, and a breeze to work with. In addition to taking wonderful shots of the wedding party and family, Brandon managed to capture all of the little moments throughout our day that we didn't know we missed. Our final wedding album was a true representation of our entire wedding day and all those we celebrated with. Brandon was also super flexible with choosing locations -- we ended up going to a bookstore for a series of shots because we're both avid writers and readers. So fun. All this to say: Book Brandon now! You won't regret it.

In addition to taking wonderful shots of the wedding party and family, Brandon managed to capture all of the little moments throughout our day that we didn't know we missed. Our final wedding album was a true representation of our entire wedding day and all those we celebrated with. Brandon was also super flexible with choosing locations -- we ended up going to a bookstore for a series of shots because we're both avid writers and readers. So fun. All this to say: Book Brandon now! You won't regret it.

  Captured us and our day PERFECTLY

  Having Brandon as our wedding photographer was a total dream. From start to finish, he is a true professional, bringing a sense of calm confidence and fun to the whole experience and he is up for literally anything- early morning sunrise sessions, freezing cold shoots, colorful smoke bombs, getting grass stains or balancing on one foot to get the shot- he is 100% engaged in the whole process, making it his personal mission to make sure that your photos are unique, creative and reflect who you are as a couple. He is so personable and made it easy to just relax and have fun together without worrying about posing .   Best Photographer Ever!

  Brandon was outstanding. My husband and I had never taken professional photos prior to our wedding so we opted for the engagement session in addition to day of wedding photos. Brandon was like our long lost best friend from the moment we met him. He made us feel immediately comfortable and gives such great direction. It rained throughout our wedding day, but Brandon had planned out several beautiful outdoor, covered locations to shoot at so we still got amazing outdoor pictures in spite of the weather. Responses are some what slow, and he lets you know just how busy he is with his "double headers." When I asked for additional shots that he may have on his editing room floor, he advised he already gave me the minimum amount in our contract (What!?) I was just looking for those important moments. He did end up giving us about 60 extra photos, but with excuse after excuse as to why he didn't have the ones we asked for. (I was in the way... the bride was in the way... again, what?)
  I wish we would have went with a second shooter. I wish Brandon would bite off what he can chew, not more. Nice guy - but not worth >4k we spent to miss so many moments.
