  I got my hair and make up done at Root Salon in St. Paul, as did my mother in law. Kayla, who did my hair, was fantastic at the trial and the day of. Originally we had done a lot of braids, but the day of I wanted something a bit different and she went right with the flow. I love my hair and it stayed put throughout the whole day. My make up was done by BB (spelling?). She make me look natural while hiding my imperfections. I went with airbrush, which stayed put the whole day, and my mother in law did regular foundation, which also stayed put the whole day. Very please with the whole experience! Another plus, I was able to ask for giftcards from family and friends and used those to cover the cost of my hair and makeup!

  Root is amazing. I go here normally for cuts and color, so I knew when I got engaged that they had to style my hair and makeup for my wedding as well. Jim (the owner) is awesome, Nyssa (who usually does my hair, and styled it for my wedding day) is a total rockstar, Alex (helped us with scheduling) was so great to work with, and Bree (who did my makeup) does great work. Every single person who works there is immensely talented. Nyssa did such an incredible job with my hair, which is quite thin and very curly, so I definitely did not make it easy for her. I cannot recommend the team here enough. They are absolutely the ones you want to trust with your wedding day look!

  I am SO happy I chose Root Salon for my wedding day hair. Ginger did my hair and Bree did my makeup. I did schedule a trial hair and makeup appointment for my bridal shower before the wedding, and I'm very happy I did. My hair was beautiful, but it did not last as long as I would have liked that day. I was able to communicate this with Ginger, who worked her magic by weaving a thread through my hair instead of using bobby-pins. It worked out so well and my hair stayed in place all night. The salon itself is gorgeous, and we paid for the pastries and mimosas, which were fabulous.
  Bree did an amazing job on my makeup. She is really good at understanding the type of makeup look you are going for. I would recommend Root Salon to anyone!

  My bridal party and I got ready at Root Salon in St. Paul and we had an amazing experience! Part of the reason that I chose Root was the atmosphere and aesthetics of the salon. I knew that we needed somewhere to get ready and I wanted that to be somewhere that had a certain “look” and Root definitely met those needs!
  On the day of, the manager, Caitlin, was so accommodating to us basically taking over the salon. We were able to bring in our own food and mimosa supplies and even when we were all done with our hair and the photographer/videographer were getting their shots, we were able to just hang out until it was time to go. All of my bridesmaids loved their hair and all of the stylists were able to make their Pinterest photos come to life! Erica was able to make my hair exactly what I wanted, despite my fine, “short” hair and I (and my mom and all my friends) loved how Bree did my makeup! I normally don’t wear much makeup and didn’t want to look completely different on my wedding day (I also didn’t want to worry about my face coming off! Haha), but Bree made me look flawlessy natural.
