    Voyager of the seas wedding

The first point of contact was julianne our daughters land coordinator.Outstanding service quick response emails and great communication.Julianne made the organising very easy. When we boarded the ship Maria took over. Well the service we received from this woman was beyond amazing.maria was there from start to finish not just the wedding day but the entire 3 days on board the ship making sure the day was going to be perfect. The hairdressers started there day 2 hours early to insure all 6 bridesmaids hair was done and then the bride. The salon was a party room with bubbly and snacks they made the whole experience relaxed and beautiful.we invited them to attend the ceremony as they were so invested and loving towards the whole bridal girls.the ceremony was at 1130 followed by a cocktail party 2-4 then a formal dinner in geovarnies 6-8. The dj Bruno was great at the cocktail party were he introduced speeches cutting of the cake and the bride and grooms first dance followed by 2 hours of party music. The photography by Chris was breathtaking a true talent. We wish to thank all from start to finish for the most amazing wedding and memories.

My husband I got married on The Explorer of the Seas ( Royal Caribbean) surrounded by our loves ones. After the intimate and beautiful ceremony, we has a lovely reception-you can book anything from appetizers to a full course meal. Hair and make-up services are available as well. It was a perfect day for us!

We honeymooned on Royal Caribbean Serenade of the Seas from September 11-18, 2011. The ports of call were amazing (Barbados, St. Lucia, Antigua, St. Maarten, and St. Croix). I didn't like that the last day of the cruise wasn't a day at sea, as we were exhausted when we got back to San Juan (but luckily we had a few extra days in PR). The customer service department was awful. They didn't seem like they wanted to help answer questions. Other than that department, everyone on the ship was fabulous. I wish we would have paid a little more and gone on Oasis or Allure, but it was nice for what we paid.

We got married aboard the Liberty of the Seas. It was a beautiful venue and a great value. Royal Caribbean was extremely responsive and catered to our needs. The only thing is you don't know exactly which room you will get until a couple weeks prior to the wedding. We got lucky with a beautiful view from high on the ship.

I am in the process of planning my elopement ceremony aboard the Harmony of the Seas by RC and so far the process has been fairly simple and straight forward. My fiancé and I are hoping to have the cruise booked when we go on our next cruise in August on the Allure of the Seas. We are currently thinking about choosing a Junior suite since this is our wedding, but that's still up in the air. Our wedding will be our third cruise together aboard RC and so far we LOVE this cruise line. The responsiveness of Kayla at Royal Celebrations has been great so far, she has answered my questions as I send them to her. The price for just my fiancé and I is extremely reasonable, $850. My only concern is the cost of the photos themselves. I don't mind paying extra for more time with the photographer after the ceremony, but I definitely am hoping we have the option to just buy all of our negatives for a lower price than what I have been quoted so far ($399.99-945.95). I will write a review when things are all said and done, but that won't be until May 2018!

The planning of our wedding was a huge headache. Royal Romance is slow to respond and overall was a very frustrating experience. I am still trying to figure out why I had to pay for 2 wedding planners for 27 people because they layed off 1 of the planners about 2 weeks before our wedding. With that said, once we set sail, the Oasis of the Seas and Royal Caribbean was amazing. Once on-board we dealt with a cruise program administrator, Scott, who was worth his weight in gold! He met with us on Sunday (wedding was Tuesday) and went over everything. He took our champagne glasses, favors, etc... so that we didn't have to worry about all that stuff the day of the wedding. He met us upon departure for the wedding to assure we made it to our transportation to the ceremony (in St Thomas) and he met our party to do the same. When we got back to the ship, we had 2 non-sailing guests trying to get back onto the boat. Royal Romance said it was not a problem, but when they were getting back on the boat it was a problem, the security people were not being helpful. Scott went down to the security point and got them on the boat. The reception was amazing, held in the Dazzles Lounge. The food was awesome, cake was wonderful (they even brought up the rest of the cake to dinner that night in the dining room). The staff was unbelievable!!! I would highly recommend a cruise wedding and at the end of it all, it was pretty much flawless, but just know you will have to deal with Royal Romance which is a third party wedding planner. They do not work for Royal Caribbean and they are a headache.

Royal Caribbean was my transportation and hotel for my Ensenada Wedding at Casa de los Siete Patios in Mexico. My cruise departed on Friday from San Pedro. The cost for a 3.5 day cruise down and back started at about $300 per person and included all food. The ability to have everyone together made up for some of the worn or lack luster features of the boat. My husband and wedding party all had suites with balconies that made for a fantastic party when we did not want to mingle with the other cruisers. When we wanted to go play we had the casino, pool and sports bars. It was a great way to travel into Mexico with a big group and we all felt very safe.

I would not recommend using Royal Caribbean if you are on on the Mid/West side of the U.S. The wedding planners are on East Coast hours for the most part and scheduling was super stressful. I had many issues with the pre-planning part and literally did not get a final say on my cake design until 1-3 days before we left on the actual cruise. I was told to submit my design and they would say whether the pastry chef could do it. I submitted my design (choosing a super simple one because I have a background in catering/events) but didn't hear back, when I was confirming my details, I mentioned the cake and at that point was told the pastry chef couldn't do it (this was a week out from the wedding). I was then given a photo of what they could do instead, which I hated (all white with squiggles), and then had to research a few more "simple" options and send over to see if any of those would work. My contact person left halfway through and I was notified I would have a new person contact me. I finally had to reach out and then most of my planning went through an assistant. The group rooms were completely separate, which I was fine with, but if you do a group rate they have to call and book direct vs putting a code in online AND you have to make payments through the groups department, which also followed East Coast hours, when most of my guests were working. They are open Saturday, but it was still super inconvenient and most of my party found better rates online in general. Lastly, there is no follow up post event survey or any indication that the company cares that you booked your event with them.....all that being said, the in-person event manager was AWESOME and did a phenomenal job. The cake, which unfortunately didn't look anything like what it was supposed to, was undeniably delicious under the half inch layer of fondant.

Our wedding is about 7 weeks away and I have not heard anything from our event planner. I have so many questions. About what needs to be done. I've already been passed around 4 times between different wedding planners. A few months back I paid 6,200 dollars. Now there is still the dinner, drinks, DJ, pictures...... Etc. to pay for. I have sent Emails, left messages and never was called back. My fiancé already assumes they this wedding is going to be some kind of joke. And it's too late for us to back out after all our guests already have hotels and flights booked. There is so much I can go on complaining about. So far I have had a terrible experience, and the wedding hasn't even happened.

I would've prefer to have the ceremony on my backyard

royal Caribbean cruises are the best! However, when it comes to weddings they have no clue how to make a memorable wedding ceremony, and their answer to all the negatives Is that the wedding department is a different company, and that they have no saying on how things are done. On the day of my arrival I handed my wedding dress to the personnel so they can send it to iron and press, I handed it on its cover and they called me the day prior to my wedding to tell me there was a hole on the back of my dress, now all I received was an apology and thats it. I had a lot of questions before making the wedding reservation, but they told me that I needed to have a reservation in order to answer all my questions, and I was naive enough to make the reservation, or maybe I was too exited about getting married on a cruise. I was disappointed on everything except the food, the "wedding planner" they offer you doesn't do anything for you, so, if you're thinking you'll seat back and relax, you're wrong.

Honestly, my wedding is only a few months away and I am in tears. This cruise line has been so unresponsive, not to mention they changes our itinerary and wedding date. Not to mention, we never even received a courtesy call , just a random and vague email. I have left numerous phone calls for the consultant Larissa and Supervisor Sandy -still no reply. I am afraid my event will be a disaster and the uncertainty is too much to handle. The cruise schedule was changed within weeks after we paid in full, bumping my wedding to the last sail day and amidst the final day packing and chaos. The other reviews were all very similar to mine (wish I had read these first) and this is very unsettling. This Romance Wedding dream may be just a scam, The rushed us to sign the agreement and fax it back, but are definitely not keeping their end of the bargain. HELP someone, anyone! #newlywedblues

    Unresponsive

I have been trying to get a hold of someone from Royal Caribean Wedding for over 3 weeks to be able to plan my wedding that's 11 months away and no response. I have called and sent multiple emails and nothing. Just a little vague email reply that asked questions that I had responded to with my original inquiry email, once I replied, ...nothing. I will not be scheduling or booking anything with Royal Caribean. Very dissapointed. :/

142 days and still waiting for our Marriage License

Marriage License to be provided in 90 days. Now 143 days and no indication of when we might receive it. Responses from RC have been placating, of little substance and with no real answers. I'm about to lose VA benefits and my healthcare coverage. RC does not appear to have a direct contact at the Bahamian Registrar's office. A beautiful at sea wedding with close friends but no legal proof that it ever happened.

During the planning processes with royal weddings I had to go through 3 different event planners because I was told that the first two had left the company. I had to constantly call and email to get a reply back as to what was going on. It wasn't until A FEW DAYS before my wedding that we finalized the ceremony/reception for the wedding which was VERY STRESSFUL and FRUSTRATING. Theres not enough space in this text box for me to express how much I DO NOT recommend going with Royal Caribbean especially for a wedding. I regret it so much!! The food I paid for the reception was terrible, the venues are limited and only have lounges, they're unorganized and everything is over priced!! I regret getting the Paradise Package as it includes NOTHING but was the only option I had because I wanted the ceremony on the beach. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CRUISE! It was my first and will be my last experience with RC.

What advice would I give?? don't do it!! Unless you are just eloping, then maybe? Everything we ask about (ideas from THEIR brochure) is a no, and no other options offered??? From the first phone call when I called to book my wedding, I was told that I may not be able to get married on that ship???? Well, then why did you sell me a wedding cruise? and it has gone on from there, as the reviews below have experienced, we have had several planners. The one we are currently working with is nice and polite but cannot answer anything, always need to go to the ship or her supervisor. So what is the point? This is a company that gets by on customer service????? I have never sailed with RC before, and after this I never will. I know that the wedding will be special because I am marrying the love of my life, but the process and RC will not be what I talk about when reminiscing about the happy day. I feel like this is the first wedding they have ever done and that they don't care about it being a special day for us. #royalcaribbeanwedding #stressed #neveragain

Hello, I recently got married on the anthem of the seas out of Bayonne N,J. (8/20-8/25 -2016) it was a 5 day cruise to Bermuda very nice ship. However I found the whole experience to be such a headache they take so friggin long to response to your emails they pretend like thier gonna give you the royal treatment(bulls****)!!!!!!. They put fake flowers on my cake table??!!!! When I clearly ordered 4 vases of flowers as centerpieces.... My bouquet was suppose to be calla-lilies ... They ended up being some white flower (who knows !!!)... Ordered 5 boutinners for the guys and they give my 1 year old ring bearer a boutinner instead of the father of the bride ??... I could go on and on .... And the best part was they messed up on my marriage certificate ??... However they did send me a new one on copy printer paper all bent .... A big thumbs up for them ??????????...

    Terrible coordination, overpriced services

    They only allow one vendor:
    The Wedding Experience
    2520 Coral Way Suite #2 #50, Miami, FL 33145
    Phone: 888-933-7225 | E-fax 866 741-0613

This vendor requires that you book a cruise before you get pricing. The cruise we booked, they can't do. We now have to redo our invites, website, etc.
They can't help you with any booking issues, you have no choice of venue, their customer service is bad. I would do a wedding on royal, if I didn't have to use this company.

Heart broken every step of the way

I was promised a 3 hour reception for months, “contracts” were signed and returned. Save the dates ordered etc…. Only to be told my wedding would be 1 hour max and they could not even guarantee that! This all unfolded after 5 months of email and phone communication. Many people I talked to no longer worked there or had been moved. I finally got to talk to a person and her boss who not only were rude but had no sympathy for the situation and offered no solutions. They did say they would refund our full deposit… that was over three weeks ago and we are still waiting. The whole team is very unresponsive and makes it seem like they are doing you a favor by answering.

I planned this wedding in my head for years and all I can do is cry. Save your self the money and heartbreak and look elsewhere.

    A total nightmare

My family was all going on a Royal Caribbean cruise at te end of 2021, so when my fiancé popped the question, it was a “no brainer” to have the wedding on the cruise and invite his family to cruise with us.

We immediately contacted Royal Celebrations, the designated wedding planning company by RC. They were very nice and engaged until we paid the deposit. We selected the Embarkation Day package bc it allowed us to invite people that didn’t want to cruise to come to the wedding and sent out invitations.

A few months before the wedding, we were contacted via email to inform us that due to COVID that package was no longer available and only those cruising can come to the wedding. We had to retract about 60 invitations… so embarrassing! But we decided to still have a small intimate ceremony. The only day available was the last day of the cruise so I accepted, made a new contract and selections and moved forward. I bought a dress, he got a tux, we bought gifts bags, silk flowers, etc… we were told that a coordinator will contact us 2 weeks before cruising day.

We were NEVER contacted. She kept setting up days to call us and never calling us. Via email she blamed the time difference, the weather, the Holidays, etc… a day before the cruise I called Royal Caribbean customer service to inquire and they didn’t know anything about a wedding. Needless to say, it never happened and they still have my deposit which they promised to reimburse. I’m still waiting and at this point my CC company will get it back.

    Avoid them!!!!

    Allure of the Seas

Do not under any circumstances book a wedding on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship, especially Allure of the seas, it was by far one of the worst experiences I have ever had! To start I received a text message at 10pm the night before my wedding confirming all guests would be there by 9:30am, We were originally told 10am although I told my guests 9:30 to ensure no one would be late. In addition to this the parking lot for sailing guests did not even open until 9:30 so guests were stuck waiting anyways.
In the signed wedding contract, we were promised priority boarding for all guests attending the wedding, after all guests arrived on time, we were forced to wait in the heat in for at least 45 minutes while we watched hundreds of guests board the ship before we did. In addition to this we were not informed of where to check our bags and we were stuck taking everything through security on our own. Once through security we had to wait in the cruise terminal for an additional 45 minutes due to the fact that the wedding coordinators did not add themselves to the non-sailing guest list and did not have a pass to get on the ship.

Due to having a time crunch me and my husband asked to get on the ship so we could go to our state rooms to get ready before we were out of time. Not only were we promised an escort to our room, so we did not run into any issues, my state room was not ready as promised when I arrived. I was stuck waiting in the hall while they finished cleaning it and given maybe 10 minutes to get dressed and ready for my wedding.

After this was all sorted out, we proceeded to central park for our first look photos, however the coordinators did not ensure this happened correctly. The photographer was nowhere to be found and we didn't get the "first look" we were promised, we just happened to meet in the middle of central park as if it was any other day...

After the photos were finished and the wedding started, I had hoped that all the mishaps would be out of the way but that was not the case. My guests informed me that no one on the ship was notified that there was a wedding, and the venue was a disaster upon arrival. Our friends and family had to frantically move tables and chairs around to make it presentable for a wedding.

During the reception the service from staff on board the ship was exceptional, however I cannot say the same for the wedding coordinators. For most of the reception they sat in the corner socializing and eating ice cream. In addition to this we paid for 2 hours of bar service and my non sailing guests were denied service to drinks until after 12:30, this was not discussed before the event. Due to the issues that occurred we were promised an extended bar service but that did not happen either.

My final complaint is that I provided dates and times for us to receive our chocolate covered strawberries, Champaign, breakfast in bed and specialty dinner all of which were included in our wedding package and none of these things had been planned or scheduled. I had to take time out of my vacation to ensure that I was given the things I was promised/paid for.

While on board the ship I met with the guest services manager (Jorge Pedrosa) and cruise director who informed me that they did not want to waste any more of my time, so they were going to give me a future cruise credit for the value that the cruise was worth even though we originally booked through casino royal and did not pay full price for the cruise. I received the letter on the last day and was informed that the voucher would be emailed to me within 30 days. The cruise returned on November 3rd, it is now February 2nd, 2024, and I have still not received this future cruise credit. In fact, I have spent countless hours on the phone with customer service trying to get this sorted out, once they finally did send me a voucher it was only for $158… After going back and looking at my bank statements that does not even cover the port taxes and fees that we originally paid for the cruise.

As a long-time customer I am extremely disappointed in the lack of customer service and care that I have received at this point. I have been on countless Royal Caribbean cruises and spent roughly $10,000 on a wedding that was almost completely ruined. Thankfully our amazing family and friends were able to salvage it but for as much money as Royal Caribbean is making, they should do a better job. My only hope is that this does not happen to anyone else!

Steer clear of Larissa and the entire "Royal Ocean Events" department. Horrible customer service, unreliable, etc. This department continuously dropped the ball. We were told the wrong information. When we finally received the invoice, it was the wrong amount. By the time we got everything straightened out, the deadline had passed. NO ONE had any sympathy even though THEY were the ones to drop the ball. We informed them that we would be going another route and planning our wedding with a 3rd party. MONTHS later we KEPT receiving harassing emails from Larissa stating that we owed money immediately. The worst experience with this department ever! I am so glad I was able to find a wedding package for the same price (but with more bells and whistles!). If you want great service and more for your money, please call Wedding Bells and Seashells.

I had my wedding onboard a Royal Caribbean ship. The ship itself was beautiful however the service (provided by Royal Romance) was absolutely horrible. My wedding was a disaster. Wish we had planned it ourself. Our 13 guests all said they would not recommend having a wedding on a Cruise Ship after this experience. Really upset, especially since we were not compensated.

ROYAL NIGHTMARE!!! DO NOT DO YOUR WEDDING WITH ROYAL CARIBBEAN
I'm just going to give you a hint of this nightmare just by a copy-paste of my last email with my wedding coordinator. Read and thank me for saving you the worst experience of your life:
    Laura,
You did mention the risk of changes and the difficulties on getting confirmations in advance. My complain is not about you. It is about the whole Royal Celebrations experience. What I think you maybe don't understand yet is that I've never attended a wedding on a ship. I have no idea about what is considered "normal" in a land ceremony and what is "normal" on a ship. Do you think it makes sense that you don't have a library of pictures of real weddings, or examples of wedding settings at the different venues on the Freedom that I can see? My only reference is just marketing material, so it is impossible for me to imagine how a wedding on the Freedom really looks like. My frustration has been increasing every time I ask a new question. It is unbelievable that you offer wedding packages but you are not sure if the ship can provide makeup/hair services for the bride or not. Why are we wasting so much time in reviewing venue options, filling a form with selections of venue and hours, etc. If nothing can be confirmed in advance? all the arrangements are vulnerable to changes and you have lots of "small prints" on your wedding packages, so you should stop giving misleading marketing information and adapt the brochures and forms specifically to the ship that was chosen for the wedding, and you should have confirmation of venues, hours and services prior to the coordination with the couple so you avoid having us wondering about a wedding that finally cannot be done our way but the ship's way. I'm 100% sure that I'm not the only "crazy bride" having this expectation/reality nightmare with you, which means that there is something very wrong with your service.
