  Gorgeous Reception Decor

  Royal Weddings by Cathy did such an amazing job with my reception decor! My theme was dark, moody, romance and Cathy nailed it. During the entire process, she was very responsive, detailed and listened to what my vision was. We already blew the budget by time we first met with Cathy and she was very good at finding creative solutions to help keep costs down but not sacrifice on quality. 10 out of 10 recommend!

  Definitely a Royal Experience

  I really didn’t know what I was doing when choosing my flowers for my wedding! I knew what I liked, but Cathy knows what works and when it works. I needed that guidance! I had to change my 4/30/21 wedding to 8/15/21, and Cathy was so flexible and responsive. This also meant changing the types of flowers we could use due to the August heat. Everything came out so beautifully and we are so blessed to have had Cathy as our floral designer. Everything was perfect; all details were paid attention to, including my annoying pollen allergies. We highly recommend Royal Weddings by Cathy Johnson!

  Backyard wedding ceremony dream

  This vendor took a Washington DC disaster and turned it into a bride's wedding ceremony dream. She transformed my aunts backyard using beautiful flowers with bold but romantic colors, floating candles and rose petals and to add flare she created a drink bar with beautiful Parasol's at the bottom. Now mind you this vendor doesn't live in DC but she was willing to do such a beautiful job at such short notice. I highly recommend this vendor I have seen her other work which is absolutely beautiful but I must say she outdid herself this time. Everyone that came I was so amazed at how beautiful it was.

  Dream Wedding

  I met Cathy through my photographer. I was trying to plan an affordable but beautiful backyard wedding after my original wedding date fell through due to COVID19. I was nervous to commit to another wedding but she created a plan that was safe and executed it flawlessly. It was such a pleasure to work with her. She is honest, professional, flexible and patient. Most importantly she is talented. When my husband's coworkers saw the wedding pictures they asked him if I'm a celebrity based on the quality of her work. The arch, the bouquet and the table decor were all stunning! She isn't afraid of color so the flowers and decor were breathtakingly bold and modern. I am forever indebted to Royal Weddings by Cathy Johnson!

  The best day of my life!!

  Im so happy that my mom and I met Cathy at the Hotel DuPont during a wedding expo shortly after I got engaged! My mom and I fell in love with her and all her flowers that day! I’ll never forget reaching out to Cathy and setting up our 1st consultation! When my mom and I arrived, she had a bouquet of flowers for me and a beautiful mother of the bride gift for my mom! That truly melted our hearts! So sweet and thoughtful and a great way to start off the consultation!! I had told Cathy that my main decor was going to be flowers...lots of flowers! I gave her my vision and she went above and beyond and made my vision come to life! My bouquet along with my whole bridal parties flowers, all the flowers and centerpieces were absolutely perfect and exactly what I wanted! Cathy and her team are absolutely amazing and out did themselves! The BEST part is when my dad and I were about to walk down the isle I looked over and Cathy and her team were standing to the side watching the whole ceremony after being there for hours setting up!! I was so happy and got the biggest smile! I will recommend Cathy over and over again and will use her for future events that I plan!! Hands down, without a doubt, the best florist around!

  Disappointed

  I was so very excited to use Cathy because I saw her at a wedding expo and really loved that she was willing to do my Christmas wedding. It all started off amazing , we looked at the venue and we were excited to work together . I didn’t have to wait to get my pricing estimate. The number she responded with was pretty high. I let her know that I thought that number was higher than I wanted to spend and my fiancé wouldn’t agree with paying that price just for my ceremony. I told her that my sister didn’t pay that much and that we would need to come up with another number or I might have to find someone else . I even told her it sucks because I really loved her. I was respectful and just explaining myself and communicating my thoughts. She then sent me a long paragraph with 8 different pictures pretty much saying that what she does and the quality of work she does is worth the amount she was charging. Which I understood that but me personally wouldn’t spend that much. I was 100% okay with her answer until she said “ I am not sure what flowers your sister received for her wedding but if it was lower it was not at the level, type , or quality you requested for your wedding “ mind you , she continued sending me pictures of her flowers and saying things like “ were your sisters flowers this quality “ it came off so rude and disrespectful. She even told me to send her pictures of my sisters flowers . For what reason i don’t know , it seemed she wanted to pick apart my sisters flowers to show me why hers were more expensive . The only reason I gave her 2 stars is because when I decided to not use her anymore she offered to do my flowers which she never did but she ended up giving my deposit back .

  Your Christmas wedding wonderland was such a great design and we were very excited to work with you to bring your vision to life. Unfortunately, budget constraints do not always allow us to provide the dream design. We pride ourselves on providing as much information as possible to our brides to make their planning process as smooth as possible. Harm is never intended. I hope you and your fiancé were able to get the elaborate arch and six Christmas trees with all of the trimmings for your big day. Congratulations and best of luck in the future.

  Overpriced and Horrible Customer Service

  If I could give her 0 stars I would. There were NUMEROUS issues in dealing with Cathy's company. She was recommended by my sister who owns a wedding boutique because she stated that her floral arrangements were nice. I decided to use her company, had a phone consultation and provided her with our colors, etc. I did state that I like everything that sparkles. I was having a 10 year vow renewal and wanted to have a nice event. Cathy agreed to provide the decor for the Spirit of Philadelphia. I made the agreed deposit but she could not provide me with a final amount until she priced certain items. (Oh yeah, she does not own anything at all. She rents everything). When she finally provided me with an invoice, she stated that she needed the balance in a week because she was going on vacation. Her bill was about $29,000.00. I declined most items and instead wanted to spend about $6,000.00 on flowers as it was just a vow renewal. I ended up spending $8,000.00 with her company. At this point, the issues began. She was highly upset when I declined some of her services. I paid $8000.00 for an arch, 2 bouquets, 2 boutineers and 10 SMALL centerpieces. I contacted her and asked that the arrangements be in tall vases and she said I would get short small one and like it. I let her know that she does not make the decision as to what I get and offered to provide her with tall vases. She stated that "her company" does not allow outside vases. LOL. TWO days before the ceremony, she texted my sister to ask if she had any thoughts on vases and to let her know that flower prices had increased. She had done NO work prior to this time. She sent a picture of a mirror vase that I liked but she stated that she didn't know if she could get them in 2 days. I ordered them from Amazon and provided them to her. (Remember she said her company does not allow outside vases). To top it all off, my colors were blue and white and my sister's bouquet was pink. The icing on the cake was that my ceremony was delayed because she was late setting up. My guests were already seated and had to watch her decorate! I was horrified. To call her and her company a bunch of LOSERS is a compliment. Everything that I have stated is verifiable in writing! If you use her or her company, you are a fool!

  I am sorry to hear that your experience was not what you expected. Given the many constraints with your event, we provided the services and florals you requested within your budget. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide multiple tall centerpieces that were outside of your budget and completely understand your disappointment here. We strive to go above and beyond for our clients but are limited by budgets. You looked beautiful on your day and your daughter looked like a princess. The many compliments we received about your florals and arch were humbling and with your flawless look, your pictures will be stunning against the hexagon arch backdrop and various water views.
