Just Hire Him.
If I could leave more than 5-stars, I would. Ryan was THE only choice for our wedding and I can't recommend him enough. Not only is he super talented, he's also just a great person to have around on a super stressful day. He is incredibly nice, and funny, and just blended so well with our group, that sometimes you forget he's not just one of your friends. The pics that we got back are just the icing on the cake - they are absolutely stunning and perfectly captured the day. 14/10, will always recommend. -

Ryan is an incredible photographer. His photos and style are amazing. If you want to capture the absolute joy of your day - things you wouldn't have seen or realized were happening - hire him. He's patient, professional, kind, accepting, and just all around fantastic. We've only seen the previews and we are in so love with our photos. -

We couldn't have been happier choosing Ryan as our photographer for our wedding. Neither of us are big photo people, but looking at them after, we couldn't help but smile at all the moments he and his second shooter Ella captured. They're a great documentation of the evening and capture our guests as we know them. In addition, he was organized and on top of it, discussed with us ahead of time what we wanted to get pictures of and made sure we were a good fit both in his more documentary style and disposition. Working with him was comfortable and easy. We love our photos and we're so happy we can share them with all our friends and family. -

Beautiful, candid moments
Ryan was the absolute perfect choice for our wedding photography. Not only is he such a nice, cool person to have through the whole planning process and day of, but he really captures the essence and emotion of the day so beautifully. Our family and friends have not been able to stop talking about what an incredible job he did. And we just have so many beautiful shots to choose from! I could not recommend him more highly. -

Professional and friendly!
We loved working with Ryan for our 12/18 wedding. Ryan is easygoing but professional. He happily took cues and ideas from us but also came with his own. Our wedding planner enjoyed working with him as well. He is reliable, fun, personable and talented. The photos are just stunning. -

As a same-sex couple, we weren't sure how different vendors would feel about working on our wedding. From the first interaction, Ryan was welcoming and inclusive - how amazing!
We had an intricate wedding day with high church, a theater performance, and the traditional dinner/dancing/toasts. Ryan rolled with all the details, capturing each one. Even better? He and his assistant faded into the background ... our guests commented that they never even noticed a photographer being there, never felt blocked or intruded upon. When we got the results, our hundreds-of-photos were chock full of "how did they get THAT shot?" kinds of reactions. Amazing.
Ryan's pictures are so amazing, we would consider getting married a second time, just so we could hire him again. -

Awesome wedding photographer
We loved having Ryan photograph our wedding (and rehearsal dinner). We had a seamless experience, Ryan is very communicative, easy to work with, and takes beautiful pictures while making us feel comfortable! He offers numerous different packages and options to fit different budgets, we had him and an assistant with us all day - they were able to capture so many fun candid moments of us and our guests, from the ceremony to the trolley ride with the bridal party. The outdoor shots of my husband and I look magical. They also took Polaroids that our guests loved. Overeall couldn't recommend more (also a great instagram follow!) -

Ryan photographed our wedding ceremony at Little Goat and reception at Thalia Hall. He and his team were awesome and exactly what we wanted -- chill and easy-going while being artistic and focused. We also appreciated Ryan's communication leading up to and after the wedding. 5 out of 5 stars and would recommend to anyone! -

Captured the personality of our wedding and easy to work with!
Ryan is talented, easy to work with, and made our NYE wedding extra memorable! He made sure to get to know us as a couple before our date and captured all the shots that we requested, while also looking for unique and interesting moments throughout the day. We were extremely happy with our experience working with Ryan and will cherish our photos forever! -

He was very accommodating, very flexible, and very professional throughout the entire process and made working with him incredibly easy. His overall experience from so many previous weddings/events made things on our wedding day pretty stress-free (for us at least)... and based on the early selects he's shown us, we're going to be left with some absolutely stunning memories from our big day. Susan Sent on 12/28/2015When it came to planning my wedding, the part that I cared the most about was the photography. I knew that I wanted some great pictures - things I could hang on our walls that would be more artistic than the "typical" wedding pictures. I've loved all of Ryan's work for years (take a look at the album of rescue dogs on his website... he can even capture dogs in their best light) so I gave him a call to see what his wedding packages looked like.
For full disclosure, my husband initially was surprised by the cost (actually, for research he priced a few photographers and was surprised by all of them...) but about a month after the wedding when we got all of our digital pictures back he said (direct quote) "Wow, I'm so glad we went with Ryan - no one else could have captured our day so well." I know you probably don't know my husband, but this is high praise.
The package we went with included an engagement photo shoot where we got to work with Ryan and get comfortable with being in front of the camera and his style. The day before the wedding day, Ryan and his fantastic second shooter came up to Madison, WI and scoped out the wedding site during the rehearsal. The day of the wedding, Ryan, his second shooter, and his assistant took photos throughout the getting ready process, the ceremony, and the reception. They were all extremely professional and blended in. There are actually a few pictures during our ceremony that I had NO IDEA how he could have taken - he's like a ninja.
To say I'm happy with our photos would be an understatement. We got plenty of great traditional family photos for my parents, and so many great, artistic pictures! There are formal, posed pictures and also some really great candid pictures of us and our guests. We got all of the digital copies (sooo many pictures!) and a photo album.
If you want someone who will truly capture the feeling of your big day, work with Ryan.
