We had the absolute best experience with Sam as our wedding photographer. He was great from the beginning, but on our wedding day was patient and calm, accommodating our mis-behaving dogs and in-your-face aunts with grace and poise. He had 10 photos for us the next day and a mini album within a week, and every single photo has exceeded our expectations. If you’re looking for a photographer who is great at spotting sweet moments, capturing candids, depicting movement and emotions, Sam is your man! -

We found Sam from a list of preferred vendors from our venue and was extremely impressed by his portfolio. His style of photography is so beautiful. He was very friendly and so easy to work with. We aren't huge photo people and he made us feel very comfortable while making us look great! Would love to work with him again in the future and would highly recommend! -

Best experience ever
Sam took the time to get to know me and my fiancé and totally got our vibe. It was clear that he had studied my wedding photography Pinterest board, had seen and understood my vision for wedding photos that were more elevated and editorial than typical wedding photographs. We have gotten non-stop compliments on our wedding photos but more importantly, my fiancé and I LOVE them. They are the perfect representation of us. And now for businessy things: Sam was punctual, always on time (usually early!) for everything from initial calls to the actual day of. He was SO polite and patient when our relatives were being annoying and asking him to take a photo on their iPhones. (eye roll, sorry Sam!!!) He was great a corralling the crowd for group portraits and he was not intrusive at all during the ceremony. Honestly, I kind of forget he was even there. It's clear that he takes pride in his work and we felt really lucky to get to have him on our wedding. TLDR: Sam slayed this and I would recommend him to everyone. -

Sam is an absolute genius. Seriously. My husband & I worked with Sam for our engagement photos at Pedernales State Park and then our wedding at The Creek House in Dripping Springs. He caught so many small but meaningful moments, A LOT of laughter and the full range of beautiful wedding day emotions. When we were researching photographers in Austin, we only had a couple major criteria: they need to be chill to work with & they need to take photos of real moments, not stiff or too posed. Sam more than fit the bill for us. He was a pleasure to work with through the whole process (even as he climbed all over Pedernales to snag some really cool shots lol) You can tell he truly loves what he does which made my husband & I, who are super awkward engineers that don’t normally have any photos taken of them, feel extremely at ease and cozy during the engagement session and throughout our wedding day. Can’t say enough about his work, it really speaks for itself when you go through his portfolio. Simply beautiful... :) -

Best documentary style!
Sam really caught our eye because of how organic his photos were. When I was browsing through his blog, the photos that caught my eye were actually all the little moments behind the scenes including guest photos. Guests were a super important part of our wedding. These were friends and family that have supported us throughout various stages of our lives. Sam had a lot of photos of guests enjoying themselves and that was the type of wedding we were looking to have!
Communication was very easy. Sam was great to talk to. He made us feel great in front of the camera. His direction, cues, and comments in general really helped make us comfortable.
The end result was beautiful! We LOVED our photos. They are hanging all over our house. He captured great moments between us and our bridal party, our family, and all our guests. He completed everything on our checklist. I love the documentary style where you can see the story of our day progress as your flip through the photos. And some perfect scene like my husband's father giving a speech and captures of his mother at their seat laughing in a reaction to what he said.
We would book Sam again and recommend him to capture all the wonderful things about the wedding that you want to remember forever. -

Krystelle Sent on 10/14/2012I must start this review by saying that I have know Sam Le, of Sunny 16 Photography, for many years as a personal friend. That being said, I can tell you that I know few people who love their jobs and approach it with such passion and zeal. He is constantly improving, researching and learning. Truly, one can see his love for photography in his work. When considering a photographer for our wedding, I researched other people who I thought might be up to our standards, but never found anyone as great as Sam. If you want someone who will tell your love story, go with him. You will not get cheesy canned photos, but photos that really show the love and joy that is present on a wedding day. All of my family and friends are continually amazed by his work and I know we will enjoy and cherish these one of a kind photos for a very long time. -
User962348 Sent on 10/07/2012I heard of Sam and Sunny 16 because 2 friends had used him in the past at weddings I attended. I saw how amazing their pictures came out, and I knew that I wanted him for our wedding, too. So we used Sam for our wedding day photography, and I couldn't be happier! He was wonderful to work with - totally prepared, gracious, flexible, creative, and FUN. And, most importantly - the pictures came out GREAT!! I would recommend Sam for anyone's wedding in a heartbeat.
