    My Perfect Nor’easter Outdoor Wedding

    As I sit here 1 week from the day I got to say “I Do” I am still in awe and at a loss for words at just how magnificent last Saturday turned out. If you don’t live in Hampton Roads Virginia you may not understand so let me, explain (sit back and grab a coffee because the story is worth it). Last week Hurricane Ian hit Florida and its storm path was taking it right up the east coast, set to hit Hampton Roads, Virginia at its worst on Saturday…. My wedding day. Now I’m not completely shocked that a hurricane was set to hit my wedding weekend because of our luck and that October is in the middle of hurricane season however, I was not expecting a category 5 hurricane double the size of the last major hurricane to follow this particular path which took place back in 2004. Now in order to have a magnificent wedding a lot of planning needs to take place and I like a challenge so I decided to plan my wedding, start my master's, begin a traveling career, and even get a new puppy the week before the wedding. How did I keep it all together you may ask? Jessica, was my saving grace, my soundboard, my motivator, and the person who would speak on my behalf to keep everything running smoothly and to ensure that I got exactly what I wanted on my big day. Jessica was available whenever I needed her and was always quick to respond. She was flexible with my crazy schedule when it came to scheduling meetings, picking up my decorations, and my last-minute changes on the day of the wedding. Leading up to the big day she kept in touch with all of my vendors which took a large load of stress off of my shoulders considering the weather report kept looking worse and worse as we approached the weekend. Now, like I said we were hit with a Nor’easter and Friday was a full-blown Nor’easter, winds hit 30mph, it was cold and rain was just being dumped on the area. Having the most amazing family and friends a couple could ask for everyone showed up to the rehearsal dinner Including Jessica with a big smile on her face ready to ease not only my worries but those of my family and friends. We had come up with multiple backup plans and she was ready to work through them all with everyone. She also made it very clear to everyone, especially my maid of honor and best man that anything and everything needed to go through her, that My husband and I were to do nothing Saturday morning except enjoying ourselves, eat, and stay hydrated. All decision-making and “issues” were to go through her so that the bride and groom had nothing to stress about. Now I don’t know if it was prayers, people’s tears, or the numerous rain dances that may or may not have taken place around midnight to the rain gods and any other weather god that was watching but when we woke up Saturday morning the weather was perfect. The sun was shining, the sky was clear and the temperature was spot-on. At 11 o’clock – noon, I nervously went to Jessica and Chuck (my venue host) and asked if there was any possible way the (4:30 pm) wedding could be moved outside. They went outside where the ground was by some miracle, not a mud pile Chuck said give me an hour, Jessica said we’re on it and the next thing I knew everyone went into overdrive to shift our plans yet again without any hesitation. By the time the guests arrived, you would’ve never known a nor’easter as hit the day before. My wedding took place outside just as I had dreamed and it went magnificently. I had nothing to worry about on the day of my wedding except having a blast getting ready with my girls which I am incredibly grateful for.     Absolutely Amazing!! HIRE HER

    If I could give Jessica more than 5 stars I would!! Her and her team exceeded every expectation we could've imagined and was the person behind the scenes who made our wedding so amazing. Our wedding day went so smoothly and was effortless for my husband and me. She started working with us about two months out and went over all of our contracts for accuracy, helped us gather all last minute things, and created the most DETAILED itinerary that all of our vendors adhered to. On the wedding day she brought and set up every decoration, made sure the whole day went according to our schedule, and broke down every thing after our event. She's so easy to talk to and work with. Even people in my family and wedding party were raving about how amazing her and her team were! If you need a coordinator, hire her!

    MVP of our wedding

    Hiring Jessica was the BEST decision we made when planning our wedding. I cannot say enough good things about her so I'll just list all of the things we loved about her!
    - She was so helpful & responsive throughout the whole process (even as early as 9 months before the wedding, when she started helping us organize our vendor contracts)
    - She was great at directing people on the rehearsal & wedding day. She literally told our wedding party not to text me and my husband on our wedding day (to text her instead if anything went wrong) so that we could stay calm and enjoy the day.
    - She put together an itinerary for every second of the day and thought out every tiny detail (even including a reminder for me to eat lunch). She kept things moving quickly all night and always asked if we were ready to move on to the next things (e.g. cake cutting, bouquet toss).
    - When a couple of things went wrong at the wedding, she immediately stepped in to help. My dress's bustle broke - she found a safety pin. The photographer didn't bring the shot list - Jessica made sure we got all the photos we wanted.
    - I had several different decor elements I didn't know what to do with. I asked Jessica to place them wherever she thought would look best and all the decor turned out looking so beautiful and cohesive. Walking into the reception space to see everything in its place was a dream!
    - She and her team set everything up and broke it all down so we didn't have to think about it at all. She even picked it up from our house and dropped it back off (I didn't even know she had done this until my mom told me a few days later!)
    - Her prices were SO reasonable for the amount of time and effort she put into making our wedding day happen.

    Seriously, Jessica was truly a dream to work with and I can't imagine what our wedding would've looked like without her! HIRE HER!!!

    Jessica is a saint

    If you do not hire Jessica and her team, you are doing yourself a huge disservice. I am fully convinced that Jessica is part super human and part angel. There was not one time that Jessica said no when something needed to be done. She took on more roles and tasks than I thought were humanly possible. She did not onceappear flustered or upset even when thunderstorms rolled in last minute. I am in awe of the work that she does. I am surprised I was even able to put this much into words because her service has left us totally speechless. Jessica, you are the real deal.

    Flawless Planning!

    Jessica and her team were absolutely amazing to work with. We hired them for day of wedding planning. They were extremely helpful with great communication not only with us , but with all of our vendors. They made everything appear to go smoothly even though there were a few hiccups behind the scenes. We highly recommended them for any event!

    Would absolutely recommend!

    Jessica was amazing! Her services were a steal for the price. We hired Jessica as our day of coordinator for our July 2021 wedding. I was very hesitant to have a DOC, however; hiring Jessica was probably the best decision we made during the planning process! I was able to enjoy our engagement so much more because she was so prompt and organized. Jessica went above and beyond by meeting us at our venue twice prior to the wedding and helping to decorate for our rehearsal dinner!! She was always available via email or phone and responded promptly. I have already recommended Samana Events to several friends!

    Best Day of Coordinator!

    Look no further, if you’re looking for a wedding planner that will go beyond your expectations and make your dream wedding come true. She is fair in her price and does way more than a normal day of coordinator would. Jessica is just plain amazing.

    I reached out to Jessica during a pandemic back in April 2020 for a day of coordinator with plans for a 200+ wedding in May 2021. Back in 2020, I thought the pandemic would be gone by May 2021. As we all know, it did not. So we had to make adjustments, which Jessica happily helped us. We would talk over zoom and email, then a face to face meeting 3 months before the wedding. For a day or coordinator, she did way more than just coordinate the day of the wedding. A month prior to the wedding, we met again and she took over all communications with vendors.

    My small reception was at a beach house which she helped transform into a beautiful room way beyond my expectations. She set up, decorated, coordinated, and even stepped up to serve food because of a problem we had. We ran into some drama and she stepped up and took care of it for us. She also came back the following morning to help get the beach house back to normal.

    I could go on and on but all you have to know is that you will not be disappointed with Jessica. She is professional, prompt, and easy to work with. Hire her today.

    The best wedding day-of-coordinator!

    When my husband and I were looking for a wedding day-of-coordinator, we knew Jessica would be a great pick. She was very detail-oriented, professional, and easy to work with. When it came down to the wire, Jessica made sure that everything went smoothly. My husband and I had gone through quite a nightmare with all of the pandemic restrictions the few weeks leading up the wedding. We were so stressed, we could hardly think -- yet Jessica was seriously on top of everything and went above and beyond. She made sure to update every vendor of ours with all of the new details, which were literally changing by the day the week before the wedding. Our wedding day went so well and it was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! My husband and I are beyond grateful to have had Jessica at Samana Events be our day of coordinator.     Best day of coordinator

    If you want a wedding planner or DOC that is punctual, efficient and just all around amazing, look no further than Jessica Ireland. Jessica helped me and my now husband make our vision come to life and went above and beyond to make the planning easier. Even though we had three wedding postponements and we already have pretty much everything that we needed for the wedding, Jessica really helped us to make sure we did not miss anything and throughout the process she made us feel more than just clients. She made the entire planning quite enjoyable and stress free because of her guidance and the fact the she did not bombarded me with TO DO LISTS. On the day of, everything ran smoothly and even if there hiccups we would not have known because she handled everything smoothly and flawlessly. If you are in Hampton Roads area or planning to do a destination wedding in this area and are getting married, I'd definitely recommend Jessica Ireland and her team at Samana Events.

    Amazing service!

    Jessica was by far the best money we spent on our wedding. She was very detailed, spent quite a few hours on multiple occasions discussing expectations for every part of our day. No stone was left unturned to ensure she knew how to make our day exactly what we envisioned. Anything that came up last minute, she made sure to confirm with me if something needed to be changed. It was such a relief to have her there throughout the weeks leading up and the day of. She’s a real gem!

    Jessica Ireland worked with me and was absolutely amazing. The amount of effort and attention to detail that she provides is outstanding.     Best choice you will ever make!!!

    When I was searching for a wedding planner I knew what i was looking for in them and what they could do for me and my wedding. After a number of disastrous meetings I finally met with Jessica and it was like fate. It was like it clicked in ever way possible and she knew EXACTLY what I was looking for and what I wanted to do.

    I hired her for the "month of" to relieve a lot of the stress and pressure from myself of finalizing all the details; and let me tell you, she jumped right in head first and took over. Not only did she do everything she said she would, she honestly went ABOVE AND BEYOND what I expected of her. From finalizing all the details with my vendors, to coordination of my rehearsal & wedding, to decorating my venue; and to top it off, making sure the whole time she made sure me & my husband were set while getting ready for our big day.

    If I never hired Jessica I honestly know I would have been stressed out to THE MAX in the weeks and days up to the wedding and the day of. Because I hired Jessica, I was able to live in the moment and not be the crazy bride on the day of. I was able to enjoy my time with the bridal party, and the boys were able to of course be the boys. If you are on the fence about hiring a planner, take the leap and just hire Jessica. She is 100% worth EVERY PENNY!!!

    Wedding on the Beach, Reception at the Cavalier on the Hill

    Jessica was an amazing wedding coordinator. She made everything seemless for my big day. All I had to do was show up, and she handled everything else. Hiring Jessica was by far the best investment I made for my wedding day. Her services were extremely reasonably priced, and the value added for my wedding was honestly priceless. I would highly recommend her services for anyone looking to invest in a wedding coordinator!
