We hired SD Taco Company for our wedding and working with them was so stress free! Easy to book and mainly communicated via e-mail and telephone. They are very flexible with customizing their menu and the fact that they include drinks and alcohol in their package was great. They were very prompt and polite and great to work with.San Diego Taco Company's reply:

We had a taco bar for our wedding and the food was great, very tasty. The service was very professional and easy to work with with. They set up and took down everything making it one less thing we had to worry about on our wedding day. We would highly recommend. -

I got to try some yummy food from The San Diego Taco Company at a local bridal bizarre. I was immediately hooked on their tacos and fresh chips. Although we had already booked wedding catering I knew I wanted to use them for something! So after speaking to my fiancé we decided to use them for our rehearsal. We are so excited to be able to incorporate this awesome company and food into our wedding! The service and prices are unbeatable! You won't be disappointed.San Diego Taco Company's reply:

San Diego taco co catered our wedding in May for about 100 people and completely nailed it. The food was so good and everyone loved it. We did the wedding package which I loved having everything included. The churros for dessert was also a huge hit. We received lots of compliments from our guests on the food. Definitely recommend! SD Taco Co did a fabulous job at my wedding. The tacos were so delicious and they offered excellent garnishes and sides. Practically everyone got seconds! they even boxed up our leftovers so we can take them home. They were on time and easy to work with. I am really happy I found them and would book them again if I was having an event. They are also EXTREMELY affordable for very great food. Your guest will be happy and so will your wallet. SD Tacos was easy to work with and the tacos were great. Our guests loved the food and I ate the leftovers for a week and could have had more. We hired them for our wedding after they successfully catered a smaller party last year and we'll probably hire them again the next time we host an event.
Booking was simple and they accepted online payment, still (for some reason) not a standard feature for wedding vendors.
They came prepared with all of their own equipment, even a tent for the unexpected San Diego rain that complicated our outdoor reception, and took the trash with them when they left.
We had the standard chicken and steak tacos and added on the fried fish tacos and the churros, which were awesome. -

My husband and I wanted something different for our wedding and when we came across San Diego Taco Company and saw the words "Nacho Bar" there was no turning back! Who needs cheese cubs and crackers when your guest can have nachos at cocktail hour!? Not to mention the side table guacamole!! And we haven't even gotten into dinner yet! Their catering staff is amazing! We put a deposit down then a week before the wedding we finalized the menu so it was accommodate our guest count, they were so helpful in making the final touches. We went with their wedding package which came with beef and chicken and we added pork (because I love it) the tacos come with all the fixings, rice and beans. Which is plenty of food but once again I pulled the bride card and added the street corn and holy sh*t am I glad I did! It was amazing the meat for the tacos was so flavorful I still get people asking about them! The best part was we ordered to much food and we got to keep the leftovers!! So all in all San Diego Taco Company was perfect! -
User1861400 Sent on 10/13/2014This is a great vendor if you are looking for casual, but AWESOME food. We tasted the food ahead of time, and very much enjoyed it, and it was just as good on our wedding day (yes, we did make sure to eat something). The company was able to set up with no problems, and everything was where we needed and wanted it. They were super professional and nice. People wanted to know what restaurant did it, because the locals are always looking for a new good taco spot. We had to tell people that it is a taco catering company, much to their despair. :) There was a little bit of trouble using the online payment system, but they were very accommodating, and they told us to call in at our convenience and pay that way instead. They were also accommodating about which salsas we did and did not want to serve, even though we were moving away from the typical "package." This is also a super affordable option for food for a wedding, as opposed to what they charge at hotels for cheap chicken. :) -

We had a bad experience with this company for our wedding in April 2019, for three reasons.
First- they did not bring the necessary ingredients for Veggie tacos, with the chefs claiming we did not order them. After reviewing our invoices, I had explicitly confirmed the invoice that included veggie tacos.
We had veggie tacos printed on our menus, and guests that were vegetarian and vegan. It was embarrassing to say the least.
Second- their employees drank our alcohol on the job without me or my husband telling them they could do so.
Third- I have tried to contact this company twice since the wedding regarding the above issues and have not heard back.
As for the food itself- it was mediocre. We went to Salud to taste test their tacos, which were amazing, but the catered tacos fell flat- even though they were cooked right there in front of us. We didn't receive any compliments from any of our guests that the food was good. I definitely regret our decision to hire SD Taco Co.San Diego Taco Company's reply:
Dear Kacie,
Thank you for your patience while we investigated this situation.
It was necessary to speak to our team members as well as my supervisor for the accusations that were made while we were onsite catering your event.
First off to address your concerns about the veggie option -- Jennifer had asked us to send multiple invoices for months along the way. I see some here that have the veggie option and some that to do not, but the last proposal I see with a veggie option was on 2/27 -- there were 5 invoices sent after that, as your wedding date was approaching, to Jennifer that did not have veggie option on it whatsoever.
I even see on the final invoice, (sent to Jennifer on 4/12 -- attached) there was no veggie option included on that so if there was a concern about the veggie option it was not brought up or at least not communicated to us from Jennifer well before even the last invoice was sent. Even more so, it is stated multiple times to our clients that we will be contacting our clients the week of the event to confirm all details, menu, timeline, logistics etc. which was done with Jennifer as well. I have included screen shots of our conversation so you can see she did not confirm anything about the veggie option when we stated taco fillings: Carne & Pollo.
If something was communicated to Jennifer that did not make it to us, I apologize for that but in the end it was never requested of us to ensure there was a veggie option to be added on. We would never maliciously not bring a product you requested, we have been a successful catering business in San Diego for some years now and I truly would like to apologize for any miscommunication or misunderstanding as well as any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Also, it was brought to my attention that my team was accused of drinking on the job. That is completely unacceptable in the industry we are in and no one from my team would ever dare risking their employment with San Diego Taco Co. to enjoy a cocktail on the job. After much discussion with my team and after interviewing the chefs as well as the busers who were also onsite the night of the event, The bar company you had at your event were given a dinner plate from my employees and moments later the bar voluntarily brought over drinks for my team. These were not requested from anyone on my team, and they were very much untouched and left on the tables near them.
