  Bridal and Bridal Party Makeup

  Sandy was absolutely amazing to work with. She listened to what we were looking for and executed it perfectly- she was also receptive to any feedback we had during the trial and implemented it the day of the wedding. She is bubbly, sweet, down to earth and fun to work with. She was very affordable and honestly could have charged much more for her work. I love Sandy and will use her for any other events I have!!!

  A True Queen At What She Does!

  There is no question in my mind that Sandy is the best in the business. If you are on her page, stop looking and just hire her!! From the get go, Sandy was quick to my questions, polite and professional, and had the most approachable demeanor. She has a heart of gold and welcomes you with open arms, and truly helps bring out your beauty inside and out. I came in with only one photo for her, and despite this, Sandy understood my vision, asked me to trust her expertise (I obviously did), and I was FLOORED by my results. She made me feel gorgeous, but also made me still feel like myself, not a dolled up, fake version, which is EXACTLY what I wanted. I'm confident you could see my skin from space with how dewy and glowy she made me look, and I can't describe how amazing she made me feel. On top of that, my bridal party/parents were all THRILLED with their makeup - I have been to plenty of weddings where someone in the bridal party gets upset that their makeup isn't what they wanted, but I knew with Sandy there was no chance. I can't recommend her enough for your wedding, engagement, or truly any big event!!

  Vibrant natural personalized beauty

  I am so glad I found Sandy! My original hair and makeup vendor canceled on me a couple months before my wedding and luckily Sandy and her team were available. I believe everything happens for a reason because she and her team ended up being superior to my original vendor and made the entire experience fun and comfortable! Her style of makeup and hair is classic, natural and elegant. Communication was easy whether it was via email or in person. She was also extremely attentive. They accommodated requests like using personal makeup for a member of my bridal party as well as avoiding hair spray for one of my bridal party as well due to an allergy. Sandy made sure my experience was personal providing facial massage prior to makeup application and well as tweezing some rogue hairs to make sure I looked my best even with the small details. They were professional and on time and worked quickly but efficiently. Additionally, they are associated with glamour girl tan and we were able to get high quality spray tans prior to the wedding. I cannot recommend this company more for anyone with an upcoming wedding!

  The best holistic makeup artist in Chicago

  Sandy is simply the very the best at what she does! After spending hours and hours online looking at wedding makeup artist websites which were mediocre, artificial looking and adopted a ‘we do everything wedding’ cookie cutter approach, it was so refreshing to stumble upon Sandy’s website. Her area of expertise is unapologetically makeup only. Although she has partners who offer hair styling services if needed. A curated artistic and holistic approach to beauty would best describe how Sandy works with her clients. She takes the time to understand your esthetic objective and what does and doesn’t make you feel comfortable and beautiful. Personally, I don’t typically wear a lot of makeup but was going for a stunning but natural look for my wedding. I did a trial session with Sandy and could not believe the transformation! At the trial session we critiqued ‘the look’ and she took notes on tweaking a few things for the wedding day. She has an incredible eye and artistry for working with one’s bone structure, face shape, skin color and age to select colors, lashes and degree of makeup that will transform you into the most beautiful version of yourself. You will not believe how gorgeous you look and feel after leaving Sandy’s studio. She is exceptionally talented with eyes too. Sandy is an incredibly talented artist and has even done makeup for Hollywood stars when filming in Chicago. She’s a rockstar and you will love working with her!

  Vibes, patience, and flexibility!

  Sandy made me feel so comfortable throughout the whole process. The trial was fun and she immediately understood my vibe. On the day of, I wanted to try a different lipstick and Sandy agreed to test it out. We both felt it wasn't right, but I appreciated the flexibility. She also did a wonderful job on my mother and mother-in-law's makeup. My mother had a lot of questions about products and eyelashes and Sandy was so patient and responsive. Sandy was also so friendly, punctual, and a great communicator. I would highly recommend her!

  Extremely talented & a calming presence on your wedding day!

  I get nervous getting my makeup done because I don’t usually like it; however, Sandy made me feel absolutely beautiful on my wedding day! I would not have changed one thing about the look she gave me. Sandy and Gabriella made all of my bridesmaids feel beautiful as well. Many of them said it was the first time they loved getting their makeup done professionally! Not only was Sandy extremely talented, but she was also a calming and kind presence to have around. I recommend Sandy 110%!!!

  Truly the best!

  Sandy was so awesome to work with on my wedding day. Not only did she make me look beautiful, she made me feel so comfortable with her! And when our hair people did not meet expectations, Sandy was so sweet in sharing hair products etc that she had so we could all fix our hair! She’s such a gem!

  An absolute yes!

  Sandy is everything you want in a make-up artist – talented, timely, communicative and calming. She did make-up for myself and most of my bridal party. We had varying levels of comfort with makeup and she worked with each of us to get a makeup look that made us look STUNNING but still feel like ourselves. She made the whole experience relaxing and she is such a delight to talk to. And our makeup lasted all night! Would 100% recommend Sandy for any makeup needs!

  Sandy is a fantastic makeup artist and I am happy I chose her for my wedding day makeup. Her communication from the beginning was professional, responsive, and thorough. On my wedding day, she came to my apartment and set everything up. She was energetic and made me feel comfortable. Throughout the process, she gave me a mirror and let me check the progress of the makeup application to make sure I was 100% satisfied at every step. I didn't have a specific idea of what I wanted so she asked me some questions and created a beautiful soft glam look that I loved. I definitely recommend her to anyone looking for professional makeup services!

  I would HIGHLY recommend any bride to hire Sandy!

  Sandy was a dream to work with! Sandy is professional, kind, and cares about her clients. During our wedding makeup trial, she took her time explaining to me all the products she was using and really listened to my vision for what I wanted my wedding makeup to look like. She even sent me links to all the makeup products after my trial so that I could purchase the items on my own.

  Sandy Thinnes is an extremely talented, makeup artist and a wonderful person who is very professional, fun and easy to work with.
  As an older bride, who doesn't wear much makeup day to day, I was unsure on how to approach my wedding makeup. Sandy was extremely welcoming and patient as together, we discovered the right look for me. She enhanced and elevated my natural look with clean beauty products that felt great on my skin and lasted the whole day, including an outdoor photo session after the wedding reception. I highly recommend Sandy as your wedding or other events.

She is a true collaborator and professional, and genuinely listens and understands when the person she's working with is talking about the look they want, how they want to feel, etc. Sandy did my makeup for my wedding day as well as my mom's, 17 year-old sister's (a bridesmaid) and two of our groomsmaids'.   Reliable, amazing, stunning work

  Sandy was the BEST wedding decision I made! Reminiscing on the day, I couldn’t have pictured my wedding day without her. From the very beginning, she was always extremely responsive and explained all parts of the process. Any questions I had she was quick to answer! I felt unbelievably beautiful the day of my wedding. Initially, I was so concerned that my skin concerns would be noticeable or that I would need so much make up to cover up those skin issues that I wouldn’t recognize myself. Sandy put all those worries to rest and she helped me bring out the best version of myself without looking like someone completely different. I was so at ease knowing I had her there and can’t thank her enough for being with me on such a special day. My girls, moms, and I all looked amazing all night long; make up didn’t budge! Don’t think twice about booking your day with her!

  Wonderful Makeup Artist! HIGHLY Recommend!

  From our initial communication, Sandy was wonderful to work with! I do not wear much makeup aside from my eyes, so I wanted to make sure I found a makeup artist who wouldn't make me feel like I had tons of makeup on for my big day. Sandy completely understood this and knew exactly how to make my wedding day look still feel like me. She is so great at what she does and is such a kind person as well. She listens intently to your vision and makes sure you are happy with the final product. I will be recommending her to other brides for years to come!

  Sandy is truly a professional..

  Sandy did my bridal look and the makeup for my maid of honor. Both looks were exactly as they were at our trial, and the final results were STUNNING. The products she used were lightweight and lasted all night without looking "cakey". The application was absolutely flawless and I felt like a polished version of myself. Sandy was professional, polite, knowledgeable, experienced, and incredibly easy to work with. I would 10/10 reccomend her services for not just bridal looks, but any occasion you may have to look extra special for.

  Before selecting my make-up artist for the big day, I spent a considerable amount of time doing research. Sandy was like no other make-up artist I found and interviewed. She was highly trained and previously work for MAC and Estee Lauder companies. She’s also done NY Fashion Week and worked on a few celebrities! With her experience and glowing reviews from other brides, I knew I wanted to work with her. The bridal trial was beyond my expectations. She assessed my skin and used very high-quality skin care products to prep my face for make-up. For a moment, I thought I was at a spa getting a facial. Once we got started with the make-up, she was very systematic and involved me every step of the way. It was a perfect balance of asking for my preferences and providing suggestions based on her professional experience. I was particularly impressed with her attention to detail and creativity to enhance facial features. At the end of the trial session, Sandy gave me some important advice for a glowing skin and I religiously followed it and so glad I did! On the big day, Sandy and her work was exceptional! I never felt more pampered and beautiful. The girls were very impressed with her work and both mothers loved their make-up. Our make-up lasted all evening. I could not have asked for a better experience. I will certainly reach out to Sandy for other engagements. Thank you very much for making my wedding day so special!

  Sandy is such a talented and patient makeup artist! My makeup was absolutely perfect on my wedding day and I felt incredibly beautiful. I was a bit unsure of what I wanted in the makeup trial. After looking at the photos that Sandy took at the trial, I decided I wanted to go in a more glam direction vs a very natural look. We discussed the changes I wanted to implement and she did a phenomenal job. The makeup looked flawless and lasted all day. She also did my maid of honor’s makeup and she looked very glamourous. We worked with a hair dresser Sandy recommended and we both thought Gabrielle did an amazing job with our hair!
