Incredible venue for a wedding weekend
We had our wedding at Scholls and LOVED the venue. It was such a special experience to be there all weekend and host our rehearsal dinner there. The kitchen in the lodge is well stocked, all the beds are comfortable and it’s just a gorgeous setting. I would absolutely choose it again.
The only piece of advice I would offer to consider while you’re planning is that while all our email coordination was with their main site manager, our final walkthrough was with someone different than who was onsite for our wedding weekend — not a huge deal, but it would have been nice to have some consistency there. Also, the fields below the paver patio aren’t owned by Scholls, so they can be mowed or changed before your wedding, which changes the view from that area. That said, the view is stunning in any season. We had our wedding at Scholls and LOVED the venue. It was such a special experience to be there all weekend and host our rehearsal dinner there. Great venue for those who want to stay onsite for 3 days!
Our wedding weekend at Scholls Valley Lodge was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in the venue's enchanting atmosphere, and the beautifully maintained grounds.
The venue itself is breathtaking. Nestled in Oregon’s wine country, SVL offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and elegant sophistication. The grounds are meticulously maintained, providing a stunning backdrop for our ceremony and reception. Every corner of the property is picture-perfect, which made our wedding photos truly extraordinary.
What truly set SVL apart was the ability to stay on the property for the entire weekend. This feature turned our wedding into a delightful mini-vacation for us and our guests. The accommodations were luxurious and comfortable, allowing everyone to relax and enjoy themselves. The rooms were spacious, beautifully decorated, and equipped with all the amenities we could ask for. We even had a welcome dinner on one of the nights with all of our guests (120) and it was so convenient to hang out, play lawn games and not have to coordinate with a different venue, decorations, etc.
Having our family and friends close by throughout the weekend created a warm and intimate atmosphere. We had ample time to catch up, celebrate, and create lasting memories together. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcomed and well taken care of, attending to every detail with professionalism and genuine care.
We also took advantage of the venue's various amenities, such as giant lawns for lawn games, pool table, wrap around porch with rocking chairs, a fully stocked kitchen, which added to the overall enjoyment of our stay. Whether we were exploring the grounds, relaxing in our rooms, or celebrating with loved ones, every moment was perfect.
We are so grateful to SVL for providing us with an unforgettable wedding weekend. It was everything we dreamed of and more. We highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a magical, all-inclusive wedding experience. Thank you for making our special day so incredibly special!

The perfect wedding venue
We had an amazing experience at the Scholls Valley Lodge. The venue is absolutely beautiful, with incredible views and well-manicured grounds. The staff were all very helpful, and were easy to work with. The lodge itself is stunning, and we’d definitely recommend staying there the night of or the night before. Overall, it was a dream wedding location for us, and we’d strongly recommend it to others. We had an amazing experience at the Scholls Valley Lodge. Perfect Wedding Venue
Scholls Valley Lodge was the perfect place to have our wedding. The Lodge was big enough to have all of our wedding party (plus some) over the weekend. We were able to have our rehearsal dinner, breakfasts, and just hang out with everyone at the Lodge. Having all of our family and friends there at the same place over the weekend made it so much more special.
The venue and its surrounding landscapes were stunning. We had our ceremony, reception, and dance floor all in the barn and were able to comfortably fit approximately 120 people in the barn and keep them warm using mushroom heaters. We had a buffet style reception and later had a taco stand and ice cream truck serve our guests.
Emily, our coordinator at Scholls Valley Lodge, was very responsive to all of our questions and was very willing to work to meet all of our needs for the wedding.

Scholl’s Valley Lodge is an amazing venue with stunning views. All our wedding guests were complimenting us on the venue. We loved how we could have all our different events in different areas. (i.e. the ceremony on the lawn, cocktail hour in the lodge/grass underneath the lodge, and reception in the barn). The barn is just a fantastic spot for a reception (and a great back ceremony location if it rains). It’s huge and easily fit our wedding of 200 guests that showed, and the pre set up lights are very pretty when it starts to get dark, providing plenty of light. The rules are pretty flexible for adding your own decor in then barn if desired too.
Michelle, the venue owner, was incredibly helpful and responsive to my nonstop emails and calls during the planning phase. During the venue walk through she made herself available to us and the other vendors for all questions. Also the close proximity of the venue to Portland is a much underrated aspect of the venue. Uber and Lyft were readily available for guests when leaving.Scholl’s Valley Lodge is an amazing venue with stunning views. All our wedding guests were complimenting us on the venue. I don't even know where to start. Scholls Valley Lodge was the most perfect venue I could have ever imagined. I'll first start by saying that Michelle, the property manager, was an absolute joy to work with. She was so responsive and let us come out to the venue several times before the big day. Michelle was flexible and really cared about our day going right which meant a lot. Anyways, there are several reasons why SVL was perfect.
1) The setting is unreal. It is set on top of a hill and you get a near 360 view of the rolling hills and fields. The lodge and barn are gorgeous and everything feels very authentic. My mom likes to say elevated rustic :)
2) We were in control of everything. We were able to bring in our own caterer, tables, chairs, etc. It was great to have this level of flexibility
3) We were there for the entire day which was great. The girls and I arrived around 8:30am to begin getting ready (in the cutest rooms too) which was nice because we were able to relax and take our time. Our guests were out by around 10pm
4) THE VIEW. I'm so happy with the backdrop for both our ceremony (trees, fields, and farmland) and our reception (wildflowers and the mountains). You really can't beat it
We went to maybe 10 other venues before SVL and this was the first place that felt right. HIGHLY recommend.I don't even know where to start. Scholls Valley Lodge was the perfect wedding venue for us! We had both been there for other weddings before and thought it would be great to add to our list of potential wedding venues. We toured them first when we started the search for our own wedding venue and instantly knew it was the one. We toured a few other spots after that, but kept coming back to wanting Scholls Valley Lodge. So glad we booked them!
The venue had everything that we wanted: a beautiful space for an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour, a covered area for dinner and dancing, and best of all: the lodge! We really wanted a venue that we could have our friends and family stay at over night, so everyone could enjoy themselves and not worry about having to drive home that night. The lodge there is HUGE and fit our entire wedding party, close friends, and family for overnight stay after the wedding.
We were able to use all of our own vendors for catering, bar, etc. which was a huge plus. And they had tables, linens, and a kitchen there already which made everything really easy and convenient.
Michelle was great to work with and let us visit the venue several times for planning the layout, setup, etc. This place is a great value and you get so much for what you pay. We are definitely thinking about coming back to have our 5, 10, 20 year anniversary parties at Scholls Valley Lodge.Scholls Valley Lodge was the perfect wedding venue for us! My husband and I just got married on June 30th at the lodge and we couldn't have imagined a better venue. Michelle and the Scholls staff were extremely accommodating and easy to work with. We ended up renting the lodge the night before for the rehearsal dinner. Best decision ever! The added cost was well worth it.
Scholls provides most everything you need a far as rentals go, however you have the option of bringing in a rental company if you have a different style in mind. The flexibility of the staff was a major selling point for me and my husband. We were able to utilize any vendor we wanted (no preferred only lists) and even bring in my brother in laws homebrewed beer.

I cannot say enough good things about this venue. We searched a long time before finally coming across the Scholls Valley Lodge and booked it immediately after visiting. We had a lot of out of town family to accommodate and they all were very impressed by the comfort the lodge provided. The staff was SO flexible. The view is gorgeous and there are multiple places to set up so whatever your vision, they can make it work. We got married at Scholls Valley Lodge on July 23rd, 2016 and I had to write a review about how incredible our experience was. This will be a long review because I want other brides to know how amazing this place is! We found this venue through Instagram last September and while the best decision we ever made was to marry each other, the second best decision was choosing Scholls Valley Lodge as our venue. The views are INCREDIBLE and you get one from anywhere on the grounds. You have multiple places to have the ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, all in different places if you wanted to. AND there is even an AMAZING barn that already has string lights in it so if it happens to rain in Oregon, you have a FREE back-up plan. No tent renting stress to worry about. The combination of winery vibe mixed with a big grass lawn & trees then also jaw-dropping views makes this place unbeatable. See the pictures if you need more convincing!
The other amazing thing that sold us on Scholls Valley Lodge was it's location. We love wine country but we dread going to weddings where you have to take an hour + bus ride. Scholls Valley Lodge is SO EASY to get to, it's literally 15 minutes away from Washington Square Mall and you just drive straight on ONE road to get there. Our guests repeatedly told us how easy it was to get there and how thankful they were for a convenient trip.
Michelle is the property manager and she was incredibly easy to work with. We LOVED her and how flexible she was. We looked at a ton of venues and so many of them had rules about which caterer you had to use, which rental company, etc. At Scholls Valley Lodge you can use ANY caterer you want (we even brought our own alcohol and had Oregon Golf Club bartenders serve it for us), a HUGE cost savings. The value you get from this venue is endless and we plan to rent it out again for huge family vacations and future work events. We hope you love it as much as we did!We got married at Scholls Valley Lodge on July 23rd, 2016 and I had to write a review about how incredible our experience was. An Incredible Space to Host a Wedding
My wife Caroline and I got married at Scholl's Valley Lodge on July 3rd, 2023, and could not have asked for a better venue to host our wedding. IT IS A PERFECT EVENT SPACE. The Lodge is one of the best hosting spaces that I've ever seen, complete with massive living room space, couches, an incredible island in the kitchen, a beautiful back porch with floor to ceiling garage door windows that open to it, and lots of overflow space on the outdoor patio and lawn. And of course, not only does SVL offer the Lodge, but they have a beautiful, well-kept lawn where we had our ceremony, and a lovely barn/pavilion reception space, and it's all right in the same little property. It's absolutely perfect for a wedding of 80-175 people (Ours was ~140). SVL also offers an additional "bunkhouse" space on the property that is rentable as an AirBnb, which was perfect for our bachelor guests, and 8 of them shared the 10-bed space at an unbeatable price.
We had our wedding on a Monday, and also were able to book SVL overnight on Sunday night, and that was an absolute lifesaver. Not only did we get to start on our setup the night before, but knocked out our rehearsal, and then we had about half of our guests over that night for a party, and were able to spend valuable social time with them outside of the chaos of wedding day. ALSO! On our wedding day, the high was 87 degrees, and we were anticipating being VERY hot, but even in my black tuxedo, I was not sweating until the dancing started in the evening. Both us and our guests were just fine in the heat (thank you PNW for having very low humidity). We drank lots of water and it was a beautiful sunny day, complete with views of Mount Hood and Mount St. Helens from the venue, which was absolutely incredible.
Our experience with the SVL team was very positive, though I will say that this venue is definitely not an all-inclusive type of venue, our wedding was very DIY and I think it is best for couples that intend to have a very DIY wedding. The staff answered all of our questions, but were hard to reach at times and definitely not as responsive as a wedding planner would be, so bear in mind that they're there as property managers and not as your personal wedding planner/coordinator.
All in all, I can't say enough positive things about SVL. If you can pull off getting married on a weekday, the $5000 price tag is much cheaper than the full weekend option, and that worked really well for us. This place is amazing! It was by far the best choice for a venue. The location is so convenient that we began calling it our local destination wedding. it felt like we were so far away when in actuality we were just 15 minutes from SW Portland. The views are stunning. The grounds are amazing. But what sold it for us was that 25 of our friends/family were able to stay on sight with us in the lodge which allowed us to really get the opportunity to spend quality time with our out of towners for the entire weekend. We could not have asked for a better venue. We did have a brief power outage during our reception but the owner was quick to handle it. Our guests continue to state what a beautiful place it was and how it was amazing that we were able to have our ceremony, happy hour and then reception in three different spots on the property. You must see it in person. The pictures do not do it justice. This place is amazing! It was by far the best choice for a venue. -

Cannot recommend this place.
Honestly, dealing with this venue was the worst part of my wedding. For coming across as very BYO hands-off, they are very particular about annoying things. I had to get special permission to have bubbles at my wedding for one. And they made comments that sounded like they would be checking in to make sure we complied with every rule. Felt a bit sketchy.
.
There was also this one staff member who kept changing her answers! She would tell us one thing (like saying the wine barrels are now guaranteed to be there) to all of a sudden saying the complete opposite. Sometimes minutes apart.
.
Then there was the fact that they advertise being able to take pictures in the vineyards. They mentioned that too at nearly every visit we had with them. Guess what? There’s a barbed wire fence around the entire vineyard. That really annoyed me too, because we didn’t realize it until we were ready to take those wedding sunset pictures.
.
The worst part though was dealing with timing. When we toured the venue we were told we could have the place starting at 1pm. When we were ready to book, all of a sudden it was 3pm. We should have stopped then and gone elsewhere, so this was on us. But we hoped they would be flexible and help sort it out. They tried to help, but every solution they offered tacked on a bigger and bigger price tag until I finally stopped trying to deal with them. I eventually got an Airbnb nearby to get ready before the wedding, because I didn’t want to give them another penny.
.
Everything ended up working out in the end. The convenience factor of being able to stay the night was really great, and the views were fantastic, but it was far too much of a headache dealing with them, and if I could make only one change to the wedding as a whole, I would have chosen a different venue.Honestly, dealing with this venue was the worst part of my wedding. Thank you for your review Carissa. Even though SVL wasn't the right fit, we do appreciate your feedback. We use it to help improve the experience for future guests.
I am so sorry you missed taking pictures in our beautiful vineyard, it is ideal for sunset photos. Our neighbors do own the hazelnut orchard across the fence, but right next to that is the open field of grapes without any fencing, we would love to invite you back to capture some photos in the grapes, they’re gorgeous!
The day you choose for your wedding we had other guests checking out at 11am. We have a great crew willing to come in on Sunday’s to get the place ready for the next guests. In between guests we have a lot to get ready, we want it to look fantastic for your check in. If you’re only staying for the day it takes us two hours (1pm check in) if you are staying the night it takes us 4 hours (3pm check in). We have a lot of busy hands working to keep our property pristine so everyone can enjoy the views and relax, but this process does take time.
We are working on implementing communication to make these timelines more clear to our future guests for a relaxing stay. -

Covid experience
A beautiful property so poorly managed. Every bride I know has had a poor experience with the wedding coordinator. Brides are made to feel like a bother and are directed to “the manual” with any questions.
They were not forgiving through covid and tried to intimidate us with lawyer talk. Though my wedding was in July they refused a full refund.
After keeping a portion of my money I asked if I could have the venue for the original night to take pictures. They accepted and told me the venue would be empty. Instead, they held an event the same night. This made portions of the venue completely una so le to us. I had their people walking through the field as we took pictures and cars were driving around and parking in front of the lodge. My photographer and family felt it was extremely unprofessional and unkind.
No apologies or efforts to make it right. With no warmth, I was told, “I hope you were able to get some good picture despite the interruptions“. My heart still hurts for the money they kept and the lack of sympathy in such a difficult time.A beautiful property so poorly managed.
