We had such a great time and were so happy we were able to have our special day in Sequoia National Park! Wuksachi lodge and Danielle were fantastic! She was so helpful every step of the way (planning, organizing, and coordinating), especially since it was a destination wedding and we did most of it over the phone and e-mail. The banquet coordinator was wonderful! He was detailed oriented and a perfectionist. The staff was so friendly and professional. Thank you!

Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks's reply:

    Thank you Monica,

We at Wuksachi Lodge are thrilled you were delighted with your event! Thank you for choosing us to host your dream wedding. The entire staff and I wish you and Harrison a most wonderful happily ever after.

Kings Canyon National Park is a beautiful and unique ceremony venue to get married at if you're the outdoorsy, destination-types.
My husband and I picked North Grove Trail because you get closer to the trees and it's not such a busy trail.
I went online to get their email to ask for information on how we can hold a wedding ceremony in the park.

    Pros:
    - person in charge of issuing special use permits is Shauna Austin (she's pleasant to speak with over the phone) and she emailed me a list of sites to pick from, told me of the process, and sent me the forms and regulations
    - not hard to get in touch with and got back to me the next day if not the day of my inquiry also providing recommendations on what are nice sites to have the ceremony at, parking issues, how easy/difficult the walk from parking to site is, etc.
    - quick and efficient with paperwork AND honest (we had read the fee wrong and overpaid but they sent us the check back and along with the signed permit)
    - beautiful and peaceful location, we saw deer

    Cons:
    - hard to get too distance-wise (but works perfectly if you don't want certain people to come on purpose)
    - no reception except for Verizon
    - auto navigation is sometimes a fluke so it's important to have a map and directions on paper
    - cannot have wedding reception by the trees (it's logistically difficult anyway)
    - bears (there was an active one in the area all of September)
    - bugs (some of our guests had issues with this)

    Not good. Unresponsive and unprofessional

Woman in the office repeatedly ignored my emails/finally about 1 week out from my wedding she responded confirming my date/sent me a form to sign and email back, I did but then she never sent me my permit so all I had was my receipt for proof of permit. Very unprofessional and unresponsive. While brides are already dealing with the stress of planning around Covid and rescheduling their big day, having the National Park not responding for your venue is very stressful and completely unnecessary.
