    Incredible!

    We're so happy that we used Shield for our wedding! They were able to step in after a last minute cancellation and were accommodating of our vegan/veggie crowd and tailored the menu to our exact needs. The food was delicious and beautifully arranged!

    Delicious and Professional

    We LOVED Sheild! They were delightful and so flexible with us! We couldn’t have asked for a nicer team. The food was delicious (salmon and tri tip… yum) and the tasting was so much fun. They wanted it to be just perfect for us down to how much cream cheese was in the red velvet frosting! Love them, Dan and his team are great!!

    Best catering company ever!

    We still can’t get over how incredible the service was. From initial contact with Dan, to pick up when one of the staff hilariously joined our dance party at our request towards the end of the night! We seriously loved everything and are so thankful for having had the most delicious, freshly made food and drinks at such special time in our lives made by the most professional of folks!

    Stuck with us during Corona

    When COVID hot, we had to reschedule everything and Shield was right there with us. Even in a change of staff they still kept us updated with who was taking care of our special day.
    Day of event they took care of everything- even the grumpy venue owners. They were professional and I would recommend to anyone!

    Amazing Service and Delicious

    We used Sheild Catering for our rehearsal dinner and wedding. They were fabulous. The process for choosing the menus was easy. The food was exceptional. It was a great value for the cost.

    Yummy! Easy to work with!

    We had a great experience with Sheild Catering! It started with our food tasting in the Whiskey Bar at Public House where they operate their catering kitchen. It was such a fun date night with my partner. They let us try the food and then took notes about the changes we wanted to make to the menu. They were so accommodating and easy to work with. Chef Natalie personally came out to check on us and see how things went and Disree was prompt in her communication throughout the experience. The food the night of the wedding was delicious! We got so many compliments from our guests. We loved it! We would definitely recommend them.

    Best decision we made was choosing Sheild

    We had the absolute BEST experience using Sheild catering for our wedding. Natalie the chef was beyond accommodating of our vegan diet. She helped us come up with a custom menu to fit our dietary needs and even all of the non vegan members found everything delicious. Dan the catering manager was so helpful for coordinating time and place for the food delivery and was just an overall pleasure to work with. We knew all the details would be taken care of, and the less worrying on the day of your wedding the better. Finally our banquet server Amelia was so sweet and set up everything perfectly and helped out so much with making sure clean up was prompt and that everything ran smoothly. I really can’t say enough good things about this company. Thank you for making our wedding reception everything we had imagined and more!

    From start to finish I am beyond happy with my decision to have Sheild Catering do the food for my wedding! Meeting with Natalie was a delight, I had a very basic idea of what I wanted and she helped me really nail down an amazing menu and was incredibly easy to work with! On the wedding day she and her husband (it was a small wedding we only needed the two of them) showed up on time, with a mountain of food! Everything I tried was out of this world and my guests raved and raved about it! We even had leftovers the next day to snack on!! 10/10 I would hire them again and again and again!

    Sheild catering is unparalleled in this community. I cannot recommend them enough. Chef Natalie is a joy to work with and her talent and skill in not only crafting a superb menu, but managing to cook for and 150+ at once is otherworldly.

    When my husband and I started planning our wedding, we made food a top priority. If people have negative comments about a wedding, I've found that it usually has to do with the food. It's completely understandable, of course. I would imagine that it's challenging to deliver a delicious, hot and widely-appealing meal to hundreds of people simultaneously; Chef Natalie pulls it off beautifully.

    We were thrilled with the unique, creative and ultra-delicious menu Sheild Catering put together and beyond impressed with the skill in which it was presented. My husband is a winemaker and we have also started a cidery together; we look forward to working with Natalie on business-related events in the future!

    We had a very modest budget for food. Natalie was a miracle worker! She came up with a great spread and her food presentation was top notch. It was perfect for our afternoon reception!

    Caterer and coordinator!

    Wedding catering review:

    Sheild catered our wedding this summer with the most delicious food and the best service. We also hired our amazing "day"-of-coordinator, Amelia, through Sheild. We had to postpone our original wedding date due to COVID-19 and Shield worked with us on changing dates and the almost daily changes that occurred with COVID-19 regulations. They were well organized and good at communicating, especially through the many changes.

    Everything they made for us was amazing and we loved that guests could get some of everything they didn’t have to choose. Everything was fresh, well-seasoned, and just delicious. Some of our personal favorites were the salmon, the grilled peach and goat cheese crostini, and the lavender lemonade! They were so helpful with packing up the few leftovers we had and making sure all of the guests got served in a timely manner.

    Amelia was also amazing with working with us during the pandemic. She was one of our most organized vendors and was in constant communication with us and our other vendors as well. She helped us with the timeline, did a fantastic job with set up/tear down, and made everything run smoothly. I mean, I never expected everything would run perfectly on schedule (it was a wedding after all), but thanks to Amelia it did! So many of our other vendors, friends, and family all contacted us to tell us how helpful and nice Amelia was. She made us feel so special and like she was our friend throughout the entire process. We are so grateful she worked with us leading up to and on our wedding day, I don’t think we could have managed our wedding without her.

    All of that to say, we strongly recommend Sheild catering and Amelia for any coordinating needs!

    Great experience - will use them again.

    Shield was very responsive to our COVID-19 postponed and downsized wedding - originally scheduled for May and finally held in August. Amelia handled the "make up my own rules" venue owner with professionalism and tact and still provided a lovely experience for our guests. If I had a vote, Amelia should be nominated for sainthood!

    The food was great too! Guests raved about the Lemon Goat cheese tarts - If you choose this menu item - order double! You won't be taking any home with you.

    I only met with this vendor once before hiring her, and after that we corresponded through email. Everything leading up to our wedding was wonderful, we had a great menu selected at an affordable per person rate. We arranged for an extra server to bus tables and a bartender for an additional hourly fee. The bartender was almost 2 hours late and I was never notified. This is surprising because we were interrupted several times during our reception (even while cutting the cake) to answer questions. Unannounced the servers all left leaving us a huge mess to clean up while the caterer Natalie sat in her car in the parking lot waiting for the bartender to be dismissed. The food was truly amazing but we did not get the service and professionalism that we wanted. I would never hire this vendor again.

    Biggest regret

    I am extremely disappointed by the service and professionalism of this company, and would urge people to steer clear.

    We hired them to do bartending for us on our wedding night, and they hired first time bartenders and did not batch make cocktails as we had planned. As a result, the lines were incredibly long (our friends weren’t on the dance floor because they were in line), and the cocktails did not taste at all like they did during our tasting.

    We brought this up after the wedding and they agreed to give us a partial refund. This was over 9 months ago and they haven’t returned any of our calls or emails since then. They are clearly still operating but just avoiding us…

    It’s very unprofessional to provide a significantly subpar service and then not deliver on a promised refund (that was in writing).

    I really hate writing bad reviews for small businesses but given this is a customer service driven industry, this is just unacceptable behavior and I want others to know before deciding to continue with Sheild.

    We were incredibly disappointed with our experience with Sheild, especially given the positive reviews online. Early on, there were warning signs with poor communication and minimal follow-up - however they were undergoing a change in their manager and we decided to stick with them - WE ABSOLUTELY REGRETTED IT. Three days before our wedding, they still had not come to the farm to survey the site - something they had said they would do several weeks before - and as the bride, I was having to contact them and follow up. On the day of the wedding, my mother-in-law was having to deal with their mistakes right up until the ceremony started. Amongst the several errors they made, one of them included not bringing the coffee pre-made as was previously discussed - which consequently resulted in the catering staff blowing the power for our ceremony and disrupting ceremony music. Instead of providing an enjoyable, delicious experience - they added stress and frustration to our big day. The diverse, artisan bread from a local bakery we had paid for and requested was not brought - instead cheap, boring rolls were served. My father in law had to request the staff restock the buffet trays when they were low. Coffee cups were not brought. The rice was undercooked. They didn't even offer busing services. The list goes on. And afterward - no refund was offered for the mistakes made - hardly an apology when we called - several times - to follow up and discuss the mistakes made. The lack of professionalism was shocking to me, especially as someone who worked in catering for five years. I would NEVER go with this company again and strongly advise against it for your big day.

    Hello Carrie- I do apologize for the miscommunications that occurred due to our "change in management". I will be the first to say at this time of our growth we were young and inexperience in the transition between sales managers. While we have grown a lot since then, unfortunately you got less that impeccable service and for this I sincerely apologize. We had a sales manager who sold you an event, then left us very little information on what she had verbally promised you in excess of our documented contract. From our perspective you were set. However when we found out this was not the case, we did sit immediately schedule a sit down with you and from that point on we were in constant communication with your mother-in-law who we understood to be our primary contact.

    The Big Day- Your evaluation of our actual service is unfair and untrue. We did bring coffee unmade as it was not supposed to be served until 5 hours after we left our kitchen. It was never stated that we should not brew on site, and we had confirmed that there would be a place with power for us to work, as it would be necessary for our service. We plugged in where we were told to by our point of contact. While this did result in a slight disruption to your guitarist, there was no way we could have know the place we were told to plug into was going to effect anything. We hate that this happened, but unfortunately it was out of our control. As soon as it was discovered we stopped immediately and our point of contact apologized for directing us there.
    We received rave reviews on the food from your guests and were complimented on our great service including by your mother in law. When my banquet captain came back from your event her exact words were "I have never gotten so many compliments before!" The rolls had been made in house, and were not cheap nor store bought. Your father in law did talk to a server about a refill… as she was already on the way to refill it. The item was restocked before it ran out. No guest ever went without an item at your event. The rice was not undercooked. I tasted it myself before it left the kitchen. We DO offer bussing services, we just could not offer them on the day of your event because we were completely booked out before you hired us. As we told you since your first consultation, at your contract signing, and then in our subsequent meetings and phone calls, this was not a service we could provide for your date specifically. Had you booked any other day of the year we would have been able to provide these services and more!

    Finally - We never received these "several" calls you refer to. The first we heard of your dissatisfaction was when you posted this very unkind review on 3 websites, at which point we called your mother-in-law whom we had primarily been working with and whom had paid for your event. She apologized for this scathing assessment of our services and refused to take any sort of refund or compensation.

    I am very disappointed that we were not able to provide you with an experience you could enjoy. I do wish you the best
