    My Favorite Part of Wedding Planning!!

    If you're even sort of thinking of booking Shelby, do it right now! I've been wanting this experience for years, but always put it off. I am so happy I finally booked it! Shelby immediately made me feel like we'd been friends forever and I was so comfortable. Her hair and makeup partner, Ryan, was amazing as well. Shelby gave clear direction for the photos and made me laugh the entire day. I never once felt judged or uncomfortable. Also, she's a creative powerhouse and I couldn't be more elated with the final product. She spent so much time making sure I loved the album layout and tried all sorts of tricks to get in as many photos as possible. I regret not doing this earlier and have plans for more photoshoots with Shelby as the years progress! For logistics, parking is plentiful and easy right near her studio. Tons of great places to grab a bite too. This was seriously the highlight of my summer and wedding planning journey!

    I’m honestly speechless...

    I was inspired to do something SUPER out of my comfort zone as a wedding gift for my (soon-to-be) husband. I was at a total loss with how the process worked, how comfortable I would feel, and the quality of photos I would receive. I used to own a photography business so when I say I’m super picky with photos I mean— I am SUPER picky with my photos, editing, lighting, posing, whole 9 yards. Shelby’s website caught my eye from the get-go and after calling her and asking a million ridiculous questions I knew she would be the only person I would trust to see my butt. (Let’s get real here. That’s an actual thought process). Everything down from the posing, to her set up, and OH MY GOSH THE PHOTOS... I’m still in awe. The quality exceeded my expectations, she was so kind and fun during the process not once did I feel like “Holy crap this is uncomfortable I want to leave.” She’s honestly amazing and I’ll probably hire her about 50+ more times before I’m 80 and wrinkled. If you’re hesitating on booking, stop it and just do it. You won’t regret it.

    STOP LOOKING!!!!! Shelby is your girl. She made me feel so comfortable in front of the camera and gave tips on how to pose and smile. She is so fun, professional, and a true artist. Would use her a thousand times over.

    I have been photographed by Shelby at Frill multiple times since 2011. I was a little nervous during my first session, but quickly became relaxed. Shelby truly makes you feel comfortable and feel empowered during your shoot. She has a great eye and her photos always come out looking amazing.

    I can't say enough good things at Shelby and her awesome photography skills. I found Shelby when searching online for photographers in my area, and once I viewed photos on her blog, I was hooked. We met with Shelby for a consultation and she was very open and honest, and answered all of our questions. After hiring her, she photographer our engagement session in Washington, DC and was very helpful in terms of figuring out a day-of timeline. She is very knowledgeable about the industry and we also loved that she had photographed at our location a few times before.

    We are thrilled with our engagement and wedding photos and have been told by many people that they are the best wedding photos that they had ever seen. Shelby put up a sneak peek ono Facebook and her blog just two weeks after the wedding. I highly recommend Shelby for any occasion and can't wait to have her photograph our growing family someday.

    Shelby is always in reach, very flexible and has the expertise to really interpret the couple's vision well. She was professional and patient every step of the way, even when we were a challenge, which I know we were! I would recommend her to anyone for any occasion, and as soon as we hit another milestone, I will be calling on her again!

    I found Shelby after seeing her beautiful pics of my friends' wedding. She is a wonderful listener, very professional, and fun. My day was a bit off schedule and chaotic and Shelby helped us navigate our way. We love her!

    Shelby is an amazing photographer. She is extremely friendly and easy to work with. She goes above and beyond what other photographers will do and not to mention her pictures are beautiful. I would recommend any friend or family member to Shelby.

    Shelby is AMAZING, she has such a great eye for things and her photos always turn out perfect. Shelby shot our engagement photos and our wedding photos. I could not be happier with her work. Shelby is a pleasure to work with and was always there to answer my questions. A week after our wedding we got a "sneak peek" at our wedding photos and I can't wait to see the rest of them, I can't stop looking at them! I plan to use Shelby again for any other photo needs, she is simply the best!

    Loved working with Shelby for a first anniversary shoot. She was so relaxing and talented and making me look and feel great. Shot photos on Thursday and received the pictures online to view and select on Tuesday! Would definitely recommend. Only did less than all 5 stars because it is pricey— but! You and who you are gifting this for are worth it!

    We hired Shelby for our wedding and were disappointed at the pictures. She only took one group photo of our family and none of us were looking at the camera. She was very friendly and nice to work with, but when I emailed her to ask about any other photos that she had (she only delivered 300 from a 4 hour event) she said that was it. She offered to "photoshop" some of the faces from other photos, but even I wasn't looking at the camera! I wish that she would have checked the photo and asked us to take it again, but she didn't and we can't go back in time.

    The other pictures from the wedding were lack luster. Near the end of the wedding, she told me that she had looked at her list and noticed she forgot to get a picture of the groomsmen and I said it was fine, thinking that she had taken several pictures of them throughout the night. This was not the case. There was only ONE picture of my brother, one of my mother and other family members. Other friends told me they got thousands of pictures back from their wedding, and we only had a few hundred.

    As I mentioned, she was very nice but I would not recommend her services to any of my friends.

    Given the anonymity of the review and I can't investigate the complaint or reach out the the client directly. In my quick research I could not find a wedding that matched this description (taking place about 2 years ago, w/ 4 hours coverage, delivery of 300 images and specific details of family photographed). My only conclusion is that the Client has reviewed the wrong "shelby leigh photography" or Client has misstated some of their complaints in the review.

    We were very disappointed with Shelby Leigh Photography services. We didn't feel the photographer worked with us at all. There was a lack of direction, absent reminders of key aspects, and total disregard of our requests.
