  Could not recommend Shelby enough!!

  I could not recommend Shelby enough!! She is kind, confident, thorough, and very knowledgeable at her job. She had so much experience and perspective to share when talking through decisions with us, which was enormously helpful (especially when planning a destination wedding, where we were less familiar). She was so patient and communicative; always responsive and comforting to our hundreds of questions or concerns.
  
  Shelby strategizes and executes well. She worked well with the other vendors and took on the bulk of the communication leading up to the wedding, which was so appreciated during this time. I always felt more calm and prepared after working with Shelby.
  
  On our wedding day, I have no idea if anything went wrong -- it absolutely could have, but Shelby and April were so calm, organized, and positive, that I could not tell. Their skill allowed my family and I to focus on the celebration of the day without having to think about any details. Shelby and April even went out of their way to prepare taper candles, which are extremely tedious, so that my family did not have to.
  
  I am so thankful that we were able to work with Shelby. She is clearly a pro at her job and is amazing to work with. Highly, highly recommend!!

  Shelby is superb!

  We worked with Shelby for final details coordination and had a great experience! It was so nice to have a true professional running things behind the scenes and helping us prep for the day. We spent 2 hours with Shelby going over all the last-minute details - some we hadn't yet thought of - and having her in our corner was so worth it. Our day went exactly as planned, and communication was great. As another plus, we hadn't visited our venue in person, but Shelby had done weddings there before, so it was super helpful to know she was familiar with everything. We didn't have to worry about anything, which was such a relief!

  Shelby was a life-saver!

  Cannot recommend Shelby's services enough! My wife and I routinely mention that hiring her was one of the best wedding decisions that we made throughout the process – we put a significant amount of effort into things ourselves, but Shelby's experience and significant knowledge of wedding logistics meant that she brought up questions/details that would never have occurred to us otherwise. She did a masterful job of working with all of our vendors (many of whom she had already worked with) and taking the details off of our plate entirely. Shelby played a massive role in making our wedding weekend exactly what we had hoped for.

  Perfect, Stress-Free Day!!!

  Shelby and her team went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect. She asked all the right questions, and so many I hadn’t even considered to ensure we got exactly what we wanted. She worked directly with our vendors on coordination and scheduling and really made it so that we could relax and enjoy our day. I can’t possibly recommend her enough!

  Amazing decision to work with Shelby!

  I knew from the start of our introductory conversation that Shelby was right for us. We had already selected our venue and date so I could answer those initial questions. When Shelby asked about aesthetic, design, or theme I paused. I laughed and said something like no drama or chaos, and a chill vibe - is that a design aesthetic? She heartily laughed then responded with a quip about human behavior, weddings, and, if necessary, the “mom voice”. In that moment I knew that I could be myself and our personalities worked well together; it would also complement my now husband’s personality as well. We could face the inevitable unknowns and chaos as a team.
  
  Shelby proceeded to ask thoughtful questions to get to know us and understand our style. I was able to tell her more about what we didn’t like/want than what we did. Yet, she was able to suggest a vendor that wasn’t on my radar and perfect for us. By the end of our conversation, it was clear Shelby would introduce levity and humor to the experience (lots of it), expertly navigate our cast of characters (which she definitely did), and keep everything on track (and ahead of schedule when weather threatened).
  
  We could not have anticipated how phenomenal Shelby would be the month leading up to our wedding. She far exceeded any expectation or thought we had about the experience. Before our month-out meeting, we shared our planning “binder” with Shelby.She reviewed it in advance of our meeting and arrived with excellent follow-up questions and suggestions. We included a fair number of DIY additions to the decor that came with some design ideas (from n00bs, to be clear), and Shelby was totally on board with making it work. It was important to us that the things we made be included, but she really pulled it all together in a way that worked. We were confident Shelby understood the “vision” and, if there were issues the day of, she would handle it with that vision in mind. We discussed all of the details, including the things we would need to figure out a few days before or the day of our wedding because of family health issues. Shelby was compassionate and supportive, and ready with plans A-Z for whatever happened. And, at the rehearsal, when there were several new ideas or suggestions for family needs, Shelby looked to me. I said that we’d proceed with the original plan and she moved us along to the next step. But, if needed, she was ready to step in and handle the moment. There were several moments throughout the rehearsal where I appreciated our visual check-in and unspoken alignment on how to handle the moment.
  
  Shelby’s fantastic communication skills and calm approach really kicked in at this time, and she masterfully handled several challenges and concerns that arose with a vendor. One day a few weeks before the wedding when things started to go sideways with a vendor, my now husband commented “Shelby is already on it, as usual”. Shelby gifted us peace of mind and support when we really needed it.
  
  Everything was exquisite the day of the wedding. When the curtains were pulled back in the ballroom, I was overcome with emotion. The room was enchanting, perfect. Shelby and her team attended to every detail and the execution exceeded anything we envisioned. We had a great time without a worry because Shelby was on it.
  
  Shelby is as incredible a person as she is an event planner. Your day will be full of joy and happiness if you work with Shelby. We cannot recommend Shelby and Shelby Your Day Events enough.

  Absolutely amazing!

  Shelby was absolutely amazing!!! She made this a stress free and enjoyable process. She is very knowledgeable and gets things done. I honestly did not have to worry about anything. If you want the perfect day, hire Shelby!

  Dream wedding

  Shelby & her team helped us pull off the wedding weekend of our dreams. We did their "partial planning package" because we did the majority of the designing ourselves, but I would NOT have had the same amazing wedding experience if it weren't for Shelby Your Day Events.
  
  We planned our Santa Fe wedding all the way from the East Coast but the entire process was smooth because of Shelby's helpfulness, organization, and communication. If I needed something measured at our venue - she would visit the location and have the measurements to me within two days. Every month following up to the wedding, she kept us on track with deadlines and to-do's, was the main contact to our vendors, and promptly answered any questions or concerns that we had. She ensures all the details are thought of ahead of time so that we truly got to enjoy our wedding day.
  
  Besides being the organized-ying to my ADHD-yang, something I really appreciated about Shelby was the way she handled minor hiccups during the day of our wedding. When something didn't go to plan, Shelby would either A) whisper in my ear to ask if I wanted to change it (like when the speeches were being done in a different location as planned and we quickly rearranged that everything went great), or B) smile and say "its fine" (like when my dad told the flower girl to start walking down the aisle - even though it was not time). Things like this will always pop up during weddings but Shelby's way of handling them was the perfect mix of being proactive & nonchalant that the issues were NEVER a big deal.
  
  She laughed with us, she cried with us, but also had no issue telling us when it was time to get it together, lol. She's a true subject matter expert and we could not recommend her enough!

  Shelby did such a great job helping us plan our wedding and her day-of planning and organization allowed us to totally enjoy the day and not worry about every little detail. We were hesitant about getting a wedding planner, but Shelby offered the perfect blend of services that tailored to our exact needs. I really do not think I would have been able to fully be in the moment and enjoy every second of my wedding without Shelby's help!

  Shelby is a fantastic wedding planner. She helped us plan our wedding months in advance and was there for us during the month leading up to the wedding. She was able to wrangle vendors and ensure we could look forward to the big day without stress. Shelby is unflappable and able to solve complex problems on the fly. She left us feeling secure and enjoying the day with our friends and family. Ultimately, we had a beautiful wedding and couldn't be happier.

  Shelby is absolutely brilliant and worth her weight in gold. If you get the chance to hire her, you should jump at it! Our wedding was a logistical nightmare, with a remote and non-traditional venue we had booked long before hiring a planner. Through it all, Shelby was steady, clear, efficient, kind, ready with a laugh, ready with some excellent question or suggestion that hadn't occured to us. She saved the day over and over again and gave us the wedding of our dreams. My husband and I absolutely loved working with her and when we next throw an event, she will be our first phonecall.
