Dye House
If you’re considering Dye House or it’s sister venue, Winslow, just go ahead ahead and book it. The space is beautiful and Michele the Director of Events is lovely and accommodating. Throughout the planning process I didn’t have a wedding planner until the last few months, but she graciously answered questions I had about the space and logistics within record time. The exposed brick and outdoor options of the Dye House make for a unique and intimate setting for your wedding.
Sheri
If I can give you any advice as a bride, hire a wedding coordinator, and make sure it’s Sheri. We hired her as a day of coordinator and she went above and beyond. She worked with several of our vendors before, so everything felt seamless. Even my now husband commented on how she and her assistant Cody were so present. She really was 10 places at once the whole day (17 hours) She arrived at my house at 8am to make sure makeup went smoothly. Ironically it did not in the beginning, but Sheri was calling and dialing away away trying to find a solution. Even just the little things, like getting me iced tea during the wedding when there was none. She is thoughtful and assertive (to vendors and unruly family) where need be. She made sure we were able to enjoy and remember the day and not stress about behind the scene details.

From the very beginning about 16 months out, we booked Sheri for our wedding and throughout the entire process she was informative, knowledgeable, and extremely responsive. As the date grew closer, our communication increased and her responsiveness remained top notch. Everyone kept asking how stressed I was leading up to my wedding and I just kept saying... thanks to Sheri I truly have zero stress. Even wedding weekend and actual day of, I felt such peace knowing that Sheri was making/answering all the calls, organizing everything, finding missing items, adjusting timing of things, dealing with guest issues etc. She basically handed me my dream wedding on a silver platter and allowed me to be as involved as I wanted to be (which was a little more than the average bride probably) and then she handled ALL the rest. I know there is so much I didn't see her doing being the scenes, but everything came together SO perfectly on our wedding day, that I am still pinching myself wondering if I dreamt it all?? Would hire her for another event in a heartbeat and HIGHLY recommend her for your wedding or celebration of any kind. She deserves to be planner of the year, hands down. -

Bar Mitzvah Event Coordination
We hired Sheri G events to get help to coordinate everything for my son's bar mitzvah. Sheri's employee, Wendy, was AMAZING!!! Wendy kept in contact with all my vendors & with me. She had great ideas to help everything come together. She was at our venue the day before and entire day of my event prepping and making sure everything was perfect. COVID threw so many wrenches into my initial plan for an event, needing to plan a reception that could be done outdoor/"drive in" or indoor if restrictions loosened. I had my vendors and party supplies, but I couldn't manage all of it and also be a supportive mom in the moment for my kiddo while pulling off such a party smoothly. Wendy had it all under control, with "plan B's" up her sleeve in case anything was needed. At the end of the day, my son said "I could not have asked for a better bar mitzvah". And "This was the best day of my life!" Thank you, Wendy!! I'd recommend Sheri G events to ANYONE needing help with their big day!Sheri G Events's reply:

If there is one thing that got me through our pandemic wedding in one piece, it was having Sheri captain our team. She was the Jewish mother of our wedding. Even if you aren't Jewish, trust me, your wedding needs a Jewish mother, and it needs Sheri! We met with Sheri in February 2020, before the pandemic hit. As we spoke with her at our consultation, we could literally see the relief wash over my mother. My mom could not hire her fast enough. Sheri was in it with us from day one. She is incredibly well connected in the Maryland (especially Baltimore/DC area) and found us some incredible vendors that worked together and created our team! The entire time, I felt like we were her only wedding! She always had unlimited time for us!
Then the pandemic hit, and everything was thrown into the unknown, but Sheri never wavered, and was our biggest support, always an ear to listen, and sometimes a therapist. We planned for the best case scenarios, but she always had 15 backup plans in her back pocket. She even helped us to pull together a front yard wedding as my husband's father was quickly succumbing to cancer. And when we had to cancel that, she took care of everything for us without us having to even think about it. Every single challenge that came our way, she was there with a plan. She was our biggest advocate with our venue. Right up until the week of our wedding, we were faced with pandemic changes and restrictions, and she rallied the troops (our other vendors) to have everyone on board with every single backup plan. The day of the wedding, I absolutely had NOTHING to worry about. There was one snafu with our baker, and I didn't even have to worry because Sheri was on it even before I knew. The day was perfect, and her team of assistants was so PROFESSIONAL and warm and lovely. Our guests felt 100% comfortable and safe, and we all had the most amazing time. She is a part of our family for life! -

I cannot say enough good things about Sheri, I genuinely could not have done it without her! My venue had some very strict restrictions in general, plus planning a pandemic-friendly wedding was extremely challenging. She was always very responsive, and jumped in when I got overwhelmed with the planning. Day of our wedding she ran the show and she is the reason we had an amazing wedding day. She is kind, caring, and really knows her stuff. Book her, you won’t regret it! -

Experienced and passionate about event planning!
My best friend and longtime boyfriend surprised me with a beautiful ring and marriage proposal on June 21st. I was completely shocked and incredibly excited. We quickly decided that we didn’t want to have a conventional wedding, and instead chose to throw a big engagement party and surprise our guests with a ceremony right in the middle of the fun. This plan felt right to us and we quickly decided on a date just 9 weeks away. Within a couple of days we decided where we would hold our party and booked the space. Everything seemed to be falling into place so easily. Then came the anxiety. In those first few nights I laid awake thinking, “how am I going to pull this off? Invitations would need to go out in just a few weeks, we need a photographer, videographer, DJ....what did I do?” Although we hadn’t connected in many years, Sheri Gelvar was someone I was connected with on social media. I remembered how years ago she helped me with invitations for my parents anniversary party. Her business had grown since then. Would she be able/willing to take on helping me through an event we had already started to plan? One message to Sheri, one meeting, and my anxiety quickly melted away. After talking through what we envisioned for our day, Sheri definitely shared in our excitement and hit the ground running. She designed and ordered the perfect invitations which were in our hands just a few days later. Remember, this was not a conventional wedding and her guidance in wording and style of the invitation that would set the tone for our evening was perfect. Not only did she help us secure a photographer, videographer, and DJ within just a few days, but also gave us choices and options in candidates to chose from. This in itself was amazing given our short timeline. Sheri continued to guide us in every detail from ceremony space setup through the smallest details in our table decor. Sheri’s experience and passion for event planning shown through from our very first meeting. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to ensure their event is a success and anxiety free! -

Sheri helped us pick out the most perfect wedding invitations. We met with her in person and were able to customize our invitation with special font, paper, and colors to perfectly fit our needs. She was easy to communicate with and was great with following up with us. I loved the one-on-one personalized service! -

I can't recommend Sheri and her team at Sheri G Events highly enough! Because of her help and hard work, I was able to be a guest at my own wedding and be in the moment. Knowing Sheri was taking care of things behind the scenes gave me great peace of mind, and I was able to truly enjoy my wedding. Those moments are once in a lifetime and are truly priceless!
