Mel made the whole experience the most calm, memorable, easy and unforgettable part of my wedding. She makes you feel so comfortable and takes all nervousness away. She has a special way of connecting you to your partner and creating chemistry with her too. She takes the time to get to know you personally and what matters to you, and somehow through magic, captures the moments in film. I can't thank her enough, I will only ever be using Mel for any other photography job. -

Mel was beyond amazing!!! She immediately won us over on our first call with her. She brought such a wonderful and fun energy to our engagement shoot and our wedding. The photos turn out better than we could've ever asked for. We've gotten so many compliments on our photos because they were stunning! I 1000% recommend her to everyone. You will not regret it! -

Best wedding photographer ever
I’ll start off by saying our wedding photos turned out to be EXACTLY what we had hoped for. Mel’s skill for photography is unmatched. The details, the natural editing & entire delivery/presentation. She runs the show all while behind the camera. Overall, we couldn’t be any happier with the outcome. Every detail I could think of was captured. We can relive the day every time we look through our wedding gallery… & that was the goal! From the engagement session all the way to the wedding a year later, the entire experience was stress free, professional & fun!! Shifted Focus was our favorite vendor to work with throughout the entire planning process and even the day of the wedding! Look no further and you will not regret!! If we had to do it all over again, we know who to call. Thank you so much SFP!!! -

Top-Notch Photography
Both Mel and her husband went above and beyond to make the entire process from booking, scheduling, engagement sessions and finally the big wedding day such a success. Mel made sure my every wish and detail was captured perfectly. While looking through our final photo vault with family and friends we were all amazed by the great shots they captured, especially because we didn't even notice their presence during the ceremony/reception. They are slick with their camera presence, yet seemed to catch every precious moment! Their experience and talent allows for their work to speak for itself. We are so happy with our photos and would not have wanted to share our experiences with anyone other than Shifted Focus Photography!! -

Shifted Focus Photography did a beautiful job - STUNNING photos that captured tender, personal, candid moments for us and our guests. In addition to that, and what makes SFP a truly "ABOVE AND BEYOND" photographer, was the SFP's teams flexibility, energy, and professionalism. Mel worked with us through every COVID change/update/new plan and even helped us figure out ways to keep and capture all the elements we wanted as part of our wedding day. She really got to know us as a couple! Her energy was incredible - singing to keep the attention/gaze of our youngest guests and keeping eyes out for beautiful poses/portraits that we happened to walk by. She is truly an EXPERT - Mel had picked out natural and urban settings for our photos and helped us arrange beautiful poses, all while keeping us laughing naturally. She was the utmost professional with regards to respectfully capturing our ceremony while showing respect in the church sanctuary. I hope that every couple is lucky enough to have this kind of experience on their wedding day and that is why I wholeheartedly recommend Shifted Focus Photography to all my friends and family, and to you! -

Mel and her husband were so great to work with and to trust with something as important as our wedding photos. Even in the middle of starting a new family, they were always quick to respond to our questions and needs. Especially in all the unknowns of the Covid season, they remained hopeful with us and willing to help us as long as they were able to. Our photos turned out beautiful and we couldn't imagine working with anyone else. Their prices are reasonable and they are very professional as well as fun! We are so grateful for all of their hard work. Thank you Shifted Focus! -

Truth be told, this review is long overdue, but let me just say if you are newly engaged and shopping for wedding photographers, look no further! I first met Mel and Kevin when they photographed my best friend's wedding two years ago. Even though my husband and I weren't engaged at the time, I just knew we had to have them as a part of our special day...so much so that before we signed on a date, I made sure they were available first!
We met for coffee (pre-pandemic) and had such a wonderful time just talking with Mel and Kevin and telling them our story, style, and personalities and from the first photo in our engagement shoot, they just captured everything about us so perfectly. We even went along with their vision of having our engagement session at 7 AM to capture the fog coming off the lake and the photos turned out amazing. They went along with our crazy locations and ideas and, well, I think the photos speak for themselves.
When it came time for the wedding in early June, naturally I was a wreck with the pandemic throwing a wrench into the day we had dreamed of for so long. Not only were Mel and Kev incredibly supportive (even with a NEWBORN), they made sure we felt just as a bride and groom should. They even agreed to do our ceremony AND reception a month later. Both times it poured and poured but the pictures and the captured moments just left us speechless.
I could go on and on but truthfully they are everything you could want in your photographers. And, by the end of it all, you'll find that you have made two great friends with the most perfectly captured memories of your special day ❤

Absolutely amazing!
SFP is absolutely amazing. I couldn’t of chosen anyone better to capture our wedding day. Mel and Kevin are so real and personable. They did everything we asked them too and went above and beyond at capturing our special memories. I will forever cherish our pictures and cannot wait to share them with our kids!! They are the sweetest couple and I recommend them to anyone!!! From our engagement session to our wedding they were amazing and so great to work with! Happy we went with them. If you’re looking for photographers that will take great pictures, you’ve found them.
But maybe you need just a little more than that. Maybe you’re looking for some people with personality, that will find ways to bring out exactly what you want someone to capture on camera. Mel and Kevin are exactly that.
But wait, there’s more. 😊 I’m writing this review the day after they documented - and enhanced - my wedding for a reason. My fiancée ran across Mel and Kevin at a bridal expo last year, and just meeting them she knew they were our brand of people. Fun, warm, and yet always aware of how to capture the beautiful moments everyone hopes to capture, all while making sure we were able to enjoy our day.
I felt compelled to write this today because we didn’t have a perfect day in spite of our photographers. Mel and Kevin were absolutely part of why we had a perfect day. We can’t rave about them enough, and I can say that only having glimpsed some of the digital photos right after they were taken and a handful of “sneak preview” shots. You can probably find some excellent photography at a number of places in the area. At Shifted Focus, you’re getting that plus great people who make you feel great, too. It's like your Best Friend is your Photographer
We can't recommend Shifted Focus Photography enough! We met Kevin and Mel through work/mutual friends and did a lifestyle photoshoot with them. We barely knew each other and yet they instantly made us feel comfortable and ourselves. They catered every moment to us and were flexible and fun. When we got engaged there was no question who we would ask to be our photographers for our wedding. Kevin and Mel met with us to work out a wedding timeline and gave advice based on their extensive experience in the industry. When an unforeseen conflict arose and Kevin could no longer be our second-shooter, they both worked to find an equally awesome second person to help photograph the wedding.
On our wedding day we asked Mel to take charge and lead us to where were she thought the best photos would be. We trusted her fully to make everything look amazing, and she did! Mel and her second shooter Kylee captured every moment perfectly and made sure that we got the shots we wanted. Each photo looks like 'us'. -

Alisan Sent on 01/26/2018Holy cow, where do I even start?! I guess at the beginning: I met Mel and Kevin at a bridal show at the Philadelphia Convention center. What drew me in was how warm and personal this husband and wife duo are, you can't help but feel connected to them somehow! The display of their portfolio blew me away and I knew that their style of photography and the finish of the editing was some of the best I had seen during my research. Fast forward to our engagement shoot-- which was SO easily planned as they were so flexible with their dates and they were even up for the adventure to travel to Washington D.C., where we got engaged. Mel and Kevin work so well together and they truly capture every single moment, facial expression, and give amazing direction. There is nothing worse then a photographer that doesn't pose you or have any direction for the shoot, Mel and Kevin moved us around the Capitol building grounds and we got a ton of variety in our gallery! After I saw the engagement photos, I was elated and I could not wait until the wedding to work with them again, I knew they would create magic for us. My husband and I were married on 11/11/17 and by 12/4/17 we had a sneak peek of our photos so that we could get some thank you cards printed at my request which was granted within a week! On 1/5/18 we had the ENTIRE gallery of over 1,000 photos to view with a USB and 50 fine art prints (in a beautiful customized wooden box with our names carved on it) in the mail on its way to our home! THEY ARE BETTER THEN I COULD HAVE EVER DREAMED! Mel and Kevin captured every single moment from getting ready to the reception to amazing candids at the reception. I really can't describe how much I love all of our photos, it's basically impossible to pick my favorites! Choosing Shifted Focus Photography to capture our wedding was one of the best decisions we could have made and Mel and Kevin have clients for life in us!
