    I love cakes and I have a very high standard for cakes. So when it's time to decide on cakes for our wedding, we took the time and visited various different cake vendors and valued on their price and design. Some are delicious, but very pricy. For a 100 person wedding, every vendor wanted to charge $600 and above! We love Shills Bakery and we decided to gave it a try. We flipped through their wedding design binder and found one we love. It was only $300 and included delivery because our wedding was in the free delivery range. We chose strawberry cream and mocha flavour for different tiers. We were slightly worried about how is it going to turn out because there were some language barriers. But the wedding day come and everything was delivered on time and the cake looked and tasted absolutely amazing! It was not too sweet like we wanted. The design was elegant and beautiful.

    We wanted a wedding cake that wasn't too sweet and wasn't overpriced. Our cake was delicious and they were prompt with delivery. We got fresh cream icing, so the cake had to kept cool and couldn't sit out on display or too long on the frosting would melt. I was very happy with the final result.

    We ordered a 4-layer wedding cake from Shilla. You will be surprised at the quality of the cake for the price you pay. Their cake is on point yet the price is very reasonable. They just charge you for the entire cake, instead of by # of pieces. The manager offered a free tasting of all 4 flavors we were interested and we ended up getting two layers of vanilla with raspberry jam and two layers of mocha. The only drawback would be that they don't have many designs to choose from. But if you just want simple design for your wedding cake like mine, it's not a problem. I wanted 2 layers of horizontal lines and 2 layers of polka dots and the cake came out perfect. They even did the cake decoration for free with silk flowers I brought them a few days before our wedding. The delivery was done in a timely manner as well. I highly recommend Shilla for your wedding cake!

    Shilla made a very small cake for our wedding. They gave us a few options which were fine because we were looking for a very simple design. The price was just right and we were more than happy with the cake they provided. It was vanilla with strawberry filling with white buttercream, and our family loved it!

    We received a simple all white wedding cake. We sat down with the manager and she provided us a free tasting with the flavors we wanted. We decided on white with strawberry jam filling between each layer. She was very clear on what we should expect regarding flavor, size, style. The design was simple and perfect, and the price was very reasonable!

    Best value cake! We got a 3 tier white chocolate mousse with strawberry jam buttercream cake with multiple sheet cakes for our wedding of 300 guests. Shilla was easy to work with and at a very fair price. Compared to other cake tastings we went to, they had the best flavor and the cake was moist. For a $60 deposit, they lend you a beautiful cake stand as well.

    We did not like the traditional fondant wedding cakes since they tend to be very dry, too sweet, not to mention very costly. Upon a recommendation from our florist, Jade Lee of Total Wedding Kama (she also eventually ordered the wedding cake for us on our behalf), we got an appointment for a cake tasting at Shilla Bakery in Annandale. We loved the light, moist sponge cake along with the silky texture and light sweetness of the buttercream frosting and mousse filling. We decided to go with a yellow cake with strawberries and cream mousse between the cake layers. The price to have the cake made and delivered for our wedding was extremely well-priced -- hundreds of dollars below ordering from any other bakery based on my research. Once the cake was delivered to the wedding venue, Jade decorated the cake with ribbons and fresh flowers. The cake was beautiful and tasted delicious. So many of our guests complimented on how well they thought the cake tasted. I would definitely recommend them to others!

    The cake looked exactly like we wanted and was beautiful in every way. Usually wedding cakes are just for show, but everyone loved the taste of this one because of the light frosting used. We went in many times with requests and to change things and they were always responsive. Also, much cheaper than anywhere else we checked, even large less nice places like walmart.

    I had very little expectation for the wedding cake. I've tasted many not so great wedding cakes before, and I figured this would be no different. But I was absolutely BLOWN away by my cake.
    It tasted fantastic! The cake was soft and moist with wonderful flavor.
    It looked beautiful also.
    The three tier wedding cake was just perfect.

    Granted, my mother took care of relaying most of the ordering information for me, but all I have to say is that the cake came out looking good and tasting great. The price was reasonable too.

    Most of our guests are not big cake eaters so we did not want to spend a huge amount on a cake that would not end up being eaten anyway. That was hard to find in the NOVA area, especially for a 4 tier cake. I searched all around and Shilla definitely had the most cost-effective option! Amazing taste at an amazing price! I loved that they price their cakes by the tier, and not per person. We came in for a tasting/spoke to someone 3 weeks before our wedding and she said to come back a week before to pay. When we did, there was no record of our cake! The cashier (I believe her name was Ying?) was extremely helpful, called the baker/woman we spoke to, and wrote up an entire order for our wedding cake. She was super nice and even gave me a free cake roll. All was fine in the end! It was a little scare at first, but Shilla will stick to their promise of your wedding cake!! We made the mistake of not asking for a receipt for our first visit. As long as you have a receipt, you're good to go! :) Will definitely go there again for future events! Their cakes taste amazing and you CANNOT beat their price!

    Shilla Bakery was special to my wife and I because on our first date, we stopped in and my wife introduced me to a delicious dessert known as green tea "bingsoo." We have been going back ever since. Every time we go, it's very hard not to notice of their beautiful cakes in the window. Naturally when we were planning our wedding, we immediately thought of Shilla Bakery. They were very polite and understanding of what we wanted. They have an album of wedding cakes for you to choose from and customize to your liking. For our wedding, we decided to go with one medium size cake, and 50 cupcakes. It was an absolute success. The cupcakes and cake tasted exactly alike, and were so buttery and light, people went NUTS for them. People absolutely devoured these things. It was kind of embarrassing to watch, I'm not even kidding. I wish I bought 100 cupcakes and a large cake, but we only had about 58 people at the wedding, how was I supposed to know we would be getting the most delicious cupcakes on earth!?

    Anyways, I highly recommend this beautiful little bakery. Their products are not just delicious, they are very affordable. It was a very pleasant surprise to hear how much they would charge because we expected a much higher cost.

    There are so many reasons why I believe our wedding came together perfectly, and one of the big ones is Shilla Bakery.

    The most inexpensive wedding cake ever! It's around $300 to get a basic 3 tiered cake. It tastes so good-- You can order the most basic and have friends decorate it w/ flowers or something. But you have to return the cake pillars after the wedding or it'll cost you.

    I have to say our wedding planner took care of contacting Shilla and making sure the cake was delivered on time and such.
    The cake tasted good and received a lot of compliments.

    Shilla bakery did a fantastic job with the cake! It tasted just as good as it looked! The cake was very light and the frosting not too sweet. They were very pleasant and affordable! I would recommend going in person to the store to order the cake, it is a little difficult to communicate over the phone sometimes.

    We chose Shilla bakery since most of our guests were Korean and Chinese. We really like cakes that are light, not heavy or a lot of sugar in them. For the money, you can't beat the value. We got our wedding cake for only $300, which also included delivery. You need someone that speaks Korean, as their English isn't the best.

    We were a little disappointed the cake was a little dry.

    I wanted a cake that was not only good looking, but actually good tasting too. Shilla's was able to provide cakes decorated in a creme icing instead of the fondone (sp) that is traditionally found at bakeries. They did an awesome job with the cake, and it tasted wonderful! The only downside was that I didn't get the cake exactly the way that I had ordered it, so I would recommend having the cake double checked a day or so beforehand.

    Keep in mind, Shilla Bakery is a Korean Bakery...almost to the point where they have a large enough Korean customer base that English is not really required for their customer facing staff. With that being said, if require VERY specific specifications for your wedding cake, Shilla is NOT a good choice.

    However...if you want a good price point for the tasty goodness of the cake. Then Shilla is the way to go. We went with 5 of their Fresh Cream (whipped cream) Fruit cake and bought a cake stand from Amazon to display it. It was PERFECT for us. We did ask them to do an orange tint on the cake, but I don't think they understood so ended up with a bunch of white cakes. It wasn't a big deal to us, but like I said...if you have specific needs, you either need a Korean translator or...just deal.

    If you stop by their bakery, pretty much all of their cakes (amongst other delicious goodies) are available for individual purchase.

    All of our guests LOVED it! The whole thing was gone by the end of the night.

    We shop there on a regular basis, so there is no need for us to save the top of the cake when we can just buy a piece in our regular grocery store run. If you come from or are marrying into an Asian family, Shilla cakes will be a familiar cake to your guests and will definitely be a big hit.

    The price of our wedding cake was AWESOME. We were looking around and it was unbelievable how expensive everyone else was! My theme was cherry blossoms and they did an ok job of trying to recreate the picture I had. In the end I could have been happier but at the same time they did try. They called me the week of the wedding and showed me the cherry blossoms and asked if they were okay. The cake was delicious, we did chocolate mousse on the bottom/top and mocha with vanilla buttercream on the middle layer. They even did it without the dreaded raspberry filling (which I hate).

    I had a custom birthday cake for my son's 1st birthday made from here and it was a disaster. We gave them a drawing with COLOR of exactly what we're looking for and it wasn't even close. Red when it should be blue, and added ribbons randomly all around the cake when the drawing specifically has no pictures of ribbons. When asked why they did this the baker said "because it looks better this way." I don't care if it looks better to you. I wanted a specific design and you didn't deliver! Unfortunately, I picked it up the morning of my son's birthday so couldn't do anything about it but take it home. Completely ruined our color and decor theme and all our pictures.
