My (now) husband found Sid Stevens through friend recommendations and I'm so glad he did! They've always been friendly, super accommodating and helpful. They clean and inspect my ring for free, and I get compliments on my ring's sparkle all the time. They are a little pricier than a big chain store, but they're small, locally owned and GREAT quality (so worth it!). I will always be going to them for all my jewelry needs.

Sid designed and custom made a band for my wife's engagement ring as well as the wedding band. We ordered an Asscher-cut diamond online, and Sid made the ring for that diamond. After receiving the wedding band, my wife wanted a few more small diamonds on both sides, and Sid recast the ring for no extra charge (besides the extra diamonds of course). We also ordered my wedding band from him, and though it was too large when we got it, they resized it for me quickly and easily.

Sid Stevens is an amazing jeweler in the small community of Albany, OR. We just happened to be living there at the time of our wedding.
I wanted a very particular kind of ring and my fiance and I couldn't find one that I really loved. So, we went to Sid Stevens and he hand-crafted the perfect ring for me to my exact specifications!! It was beautiful. Sid has also won awards all over the world for his work. He is not over-priced either. I highly recomend him!

Sid Stevens Jewelers is an amazing small business in Albany. I was so happy with my ring and the service that both my husband and I received here. I have a feeling that he will get to know us pretty well over the years!

    Frustrated!

I want to preface this review by saying that, yes my ring is beautiful. Yes, they've repaired it twice at no cost to me. I'm grateful for that. But both times they've now made my ring, the first time and now after remaking the band this time, they have not listened to what I want, as the customer. In fact, they've strictly gone against what I want simply because they do not agree with it.

Back in 2014, I went into Sids to have them make me a ring. I showed him what I wanted. I was very clear. He made me my ring but he used four prongs per each diamond. This reduced the sparkle and made the ring more metal looking than I wanted. I tried to argue. When Sid told me that it's not safe that way, I told him I had insurance and I didn't care. He refused to change it. I even had employees try and change his mind. I'm the customer. I am the PAYING customer, my ring should be what I wanted. Sid refused to remake it. He told me he would charge me if he remade it HOW I WANTED, in the first place. So I gave up.

Fast forward to February of this year. My ring spontaneously breaks for the second time. I have my husband drop it off at Sids. They never once called me. They never once talked to me about their plans with the repair. I was in the middle of going back to work and helping a friend through a traumatic loss. I was patient and figured they would call me. They never did. Finally, I called them and they told me the ring was ready. Sid also told me they remade it. I asked him if he remade it with shared prongs like I wanted and he chuckled and said no. I'm beyond furious. He KNOWS. He knows I want shared prongs. I'm convinced they did not call me (they did before with the first repair) because they knew they had to remake the band and they knew I'd want shared prongs. This is an outrageous and inappropriate way to do business. Additionally, I purchased diamonds from Sid because when I did finally have the money to remake the ring, I wanted to put in bigger diamonds. He knew I had the diamonds. He knew what I wanted. Wouldn't one expect a phone call? This was intentional and I've since found out he's gone against customers wishes based on his own opinions before.

This isn't ok. This isn't what I as the paying customer wanted. I'll gladly take this review down should my problem be resolved (my ring remade, the way I want and have said I wanted for years) but I highly doubt it will. I'll probably have to take my business elsewhere to a place where they listen to the customers and give them a product they want.
