Elena and her team at Sokayri did an amazing job altering my wedding dress, which I purchased from Anthropologie. I didn’t need the dress taken in or out, but I requested some more complex & labor-intensive alterations. For my dress, she shortened it & made it floor length so it wouldn’t drag as we were getting married at an intimate ceremony in the park. The shortening process involved separating the dress into two pieces. I also wanted to add something in the bust area to make it less busty, and she came up with an excellent solution.
Elena is extremely classy, and you can tell she cares deeply about her work. She spent an hour with me in the first meeting to pin the dress and go over everything in detail, and at the end, she gave me a thorough estimate and went over the pricing. About a month later, she was done, and I came back & she spent another hour with me to go over everything and make sure I was 100% satisfied.
As a side note, the space for the boutique is so cute, well-decorated, and tastefully done.
I would highly recommend Elena & her team to any bride looking for alterations. In other reviews, I have noticed people have commented about the pricing. I have no regrets on what I paid & working with Elena. She clearly prides herself in her work. Also, as I detailed above, I requested some complex changes to the dress, and those changes take a lot of time. Honestly, assuming it took someone 15 - 30 hours to do the changes, my total roughly translated to about $50/hr - $100/hr. Alterations are a skilled job, and they should be paid for their time. I think it’s reasonable to charge that for the work being done. Keep that in mind when you go into the process.
I highly recommend going here for your alterations! You will not regret it. -

Amazing and skillful job!
I had the pleasure of working with Sokayri Atelier for my bridal alterations, and they couldn’t have done a better job. I wore a silk slip-style gown, and Danilo provided expert opinion on how to handle the fabric (including letting me know risks of certain alterations, which I appreciated so much) and added the most gorgeous subtle and sleek French bustle. Beyond that, the weather on my wedding day caused a lot of water and mud damage on the bottom of my dress and shoes (see pics), and Sokayri was able to get the dress and shoes almost like new again! It was really an incredible job done. I trust Elena and Danilo with any alterations, tailoring, or cleaning I could ever need - they are artists and incredibly skilled. Highly recommend! -

I brought a 170 year old family heirloom veil to Elena to be cleaned, restored and updated. I brought it to Elena very yellowed and out of date. Elena was able to get it cleaned and restore it to a beautiful shade of white. She was also able to remove a crown that the lace had been on and place it on a comb for a more contemporary look. The veil is just magnificent. In addition to that, Elena was a joy to work with. She was warm, responsive and so excited to work on this for me. When I wasn't able to visit the studio, she facetimed with me to go over some details. If you need a veil or gown restored, cleaned or updated, I would highly recommend Elena! -

I had a fantastic experience with Sokayri Atelier. They were so professional and knowledgeable about what would look best on me and my dress, but always supportive and made the experience so fun and enjoyable.
Danilo was so lovely and talented, and guided me in the best ways. I had a lot of changes to my dress and you would have never known looking at the finished piece.
I am so grateful for my experience and wouldn’t trust anyone else with such a special event after working with them. This is the place to go! -

SOKAYRI Atelier and Boutique is the BEST! She made me the most beautiful veil, we had so much fun working with the team. They also came to cut my dress the day of the wedding, it was tulle and didnt bustle well, so we cut it! It was great. Thank you!!!

One of a kind
I will always recall how I fell upon Sokayri Atelier and Elena. I was 6 weeks from my wedding date at the close of my 2nd fitting with one of my closest girl friends. I said to her, I know I am vested at this point, but I am completely underwhelmed with every aspect of this fitting and experience. Someone had recommended Sokayri /Elena to us previously and I said to my girlfriend, do you think it is worth a phone call to see if they somehow can make me my dream dress in 6 weeks... Insanity I know! We called Elena and not only was she receptive, she delivered. Not only in creating a beautiful , custom gown in record time, but creating so many warm and cherishable moments all along the way. Elena and Svetlana were most confident, dedicated and genuine designers. Shockingly reasonably priced considering the circumstances. They both twinkled and giggled with us the entire way. I could not have been more satisfied with their work in their beautiful, elegant Boutique. I now have my sure thing, go to stop for myself and family for all occasions. I had to postpone my wedding due to covid & ended up getting a second gown. I recently moved to CT and was on the search for someone I could trust and feel confident that they could take care of my wedding gown, especially being fully beaded. After meeting with Elena at Sokayri, I knew they were the perfect team to alter my dress for such an important occasion! I have returned back for 2 bridesmaid dresses (one of which needed major alterations) as well as some clothing for my honeymoon. If you are in need of a trustworthy tailor, I highly recommend them!! They also just recently moved to a larger location which is BEAUTIFUL and even has wedding gowns and other gowns right on site. -
